Meanwhile in Moscow:

Russian Capital and Headquarters of Gazprom Corporation (note the proximity of Headquarters to Kremlin) finally got Moscow International Business Center:

Spoiler :
MIBC_27th_April_2012.jpg

The Moscow IBC became the first zone in Russia to combine business activity, living space and entertainment in one single development. The Moscow government first conceived the project in 1992. An estimated 250,000 – 300,000 people will be working, living, or visiting the complex at any given time. The construction of the Moscow IBC was completed on the Presnenskaya embankment of the Moscow River approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) west of Red Square. The project occupies an area of 60 hectares, the territory chosen being the only area in central Moscow that can accommodate such a project. Before construction began, the area represented an old stone quarry where most of the buildings were old factories and industrial complexes that had been closed or abandoned. The total cost of the project is estimated at $12 billion.

In addition, the very next turn is going to be the Today of Today! It took us 4 month to arrive here from October 2010, and I am happy the game has not been abandoned :goodjob: To mark this auspicious occasion Russia offers all the members of the nuclear club to disband IBCMs in the greatest nuclear arm reduction treaty the World has ever seen! I say it as a player not just as Putin - you have my word -- if USA, China and EU leaders agree to disband all the IBCMs next turn Russia will absolutely do the same. There is no way to transport or hide IBCMs so simple screen shot of F5 screen will prove that job is done. What would you say, Nuclear club members?:nuke:

gps'd to Nighthawk

The European Union is all for the reduction of nuclear arms, what does the Americans have to say?

(sorry Nighthawk, looks like you're out of the loop on this one :p)

While we agree with the act of disbanding Nuclear weapons in principle, but as the "Genie is out of the bag", so to speak, they also act as a deterrent for any likely aggression, either conventional or nuclear. Nuclear weapons are especially effective in deterring aggression by forces who have large conventional forces.

We will need time to consider this proposal.

In the first instance everyone should post their existing stockpiles.

In other news, we have 100 turns left !!!

TODAY IS ....TODAY!

Finally, the Present caught up with the Present! Two more month before American elections -- we wonder how would American foreign policy change in November 2012 ;)

As a gesture of free will Russia will unilaterally disclose the items in her nuclear closet:

We certainly hope that other Powers will follow the suit. :cooool:

Actually I think we decided that we were going to freely extend the game until someone wins, essentially ignoring the "time" victory... especially since we are on marathon and its impossible to do ANYTHING quickly. Also especially since we all seem to be enjoying the game, so why end it at an arbitrary point in time based on something as silly as score?

As you can tell, I am always vehemently opposed to any civ game having a time victory!!

I'm all for ignoring the time " victory." Especially given there's also a few house custom victory conditions. I don't think any of us want this game to end with something as arbitrary as score like Nighthawk said.

And gps'd to Nighthawk, sorry about the delay.

Maybe kiwitt is reconsidering whether he should have joined such a marathon long game!!! lol...

Time victories are silly, especially in a PBEM game that takes 3 years to finish anyway. If I am playing a live game and we only have 4 hours realistically to play, then sure, 4 hours is a max time limit and if no one has won by then, the high score wins. But not with a PBEM, there is literally no reason we can't play forever... if someone drops we get a replacement! I'm still waiting to be involved in a PBEM where literally EVERYONE is a replacement player... one of mine is close, 3 out of 5 are replacements! :crazyeye:

Edit: I have the turn and will play after work today.

I'm not entirely sure why but EU has managed to convince Australia to sign a defensive pact with Germany. More power to me?..

Somewhat related, although it hasn't happened yet. But what happens if one of the AI decides to declare war on us? Don't tell me baiting the AI into attacking you is a viable strategy although I guess it is unlikely to happen, and holds terrible repercussions diplomatically (with humans!) if handled incorrectly.

urgh... sohleks sent me August 2012 again. I should have received Sept 2012 this time around. Someone needs to re-send the right turn... sorry folks.

More power or more liability :) But it is quite surprising that AI vassal can broker defensive pacts with AI civs and force his human master to be involved in this new unintended relationship :crazyeye:. Can someone verify if this is a vanila feature? In original Barbarian King scenario vassals were disabled altogether, I just enabled them for obvious purposes without changing anything else, I didn't change any Assets just the starting save file...

AI attacking you frees you from any house rule restrictions. At this stage of the game virtually the entire world has aligned with few leading powers controlled by humans (AI Brazilian block being the only exception), so I can't imagine one can easily provoke an AI to start war with himself anyway...

My mistake, guess folder wasn't sorted by date. I should have sent the correct file now, check again.

I have the correct file now, thank you. No worries... I just feel bad because I missed my window for turns yesterday with this game so now we are delayed a day. Sorry folks. I'm going to attempt to do my turns over lunch today if I can manage it. I really need to get a job with an office sometime soon!

That's strange that the EU forced you into a defensive pact? I'm guessing that means the EU got into a defensive pact with Australia and as the EU's master, Germany is forced to be a part of it? That seems a stretch, I wouldn't think a vassal should be able to drag his master into things like that... not sure if its vanilla BTS or not, I have limited experience with vassals, I typically just wipe someone off the map rather than accept tham as a vassal! :D Vassals are nothing but trouble!

Speaking of which, I wonder if China has offered any support to the monsoon destruction of their vassal's capital, Islamabad. Or is that Beauocracy still at work? :crazyeye:

I held the turn for way longer, then sent you the wrong file. Don't feel bad you missed it at 10 pm and didn't play civ this morning.

When I said EU I was actually refering to myself, not the vassal nation surrounding me.

Sent to Kiwitt. Downloaded and played last night but then our internet went out so just sent this morning.

Still no sign of help from China in Islamabad.

On another note, I now see why kiwitt said "Only 100 turns left!" because it showed up in the game and time victory is enabled. Are we going to have an issue with this after 100 turns? Will we be able to ignore the deadline or accept "victory" and keep going?? 100 turns on marathon speed is only like 33 on regular speed...

GPS? And this is it? No screenshots of nukes?:twitch:
