750 AD (0) Our gold per turn has gone up significantly but we are behind in technology again. It is time to swing some deals:

Buy an Embassy with India for ~70g.
Buy Invention from Japan for Insence + 10gpt + 18g
Buy Gunpowder + 1gpt from India for Insence + WM + 465g. (The 1gpt protects our reputation should our trade rout with India be broken).
Buy Theology from Zululand for Gunpowder + WM + 3gpt + 6g.

(1) Renew dyes deal with Egypt for 16gpt (up from 11gpt).
Egypt builds Copernicus
Japan builds Magellan

(2) Not much

(3) Swordsmen are moved to the Egyptian border to form a defensive network.

(4) Iroquois demand TM + 28g and we pay. Our horse supply is connected and Horsemen are ordered in Washington, Boston, and Houston for a potential upgrade strategy.

800 AD (5) Not much.

(6) St Louis in the south gets some irrigation.

(7) Japan demands TM + 39g and gets it (they are the most powerful civ on the other continent).

(8) Detroit (a fully corrupt colony on the southern island) riots and gets a scientist. Washington is set for a horseman every other turn.

(9) Zululand declares war on Egypt which cuts off our access to Zulu wines as our trade rout goes through Egyptian waters. Babylon demands TM + 39g but is bluffing.

Boston and Washington riot due to the loss of wines, and I buy silks from India for 14gpt to replace the luxury. A whole lot of Egyptian swordsmen enter our territory as they head for the Zulu cities on our continent.

850 AD (10) Babylon is down to 4 cities and is at war with Japan and India. India will pay us 300g to declare war on Babylon.

Sell India an Alliance against Babylon + 35gpt for Chemistry.
Trade Chemistry + 35g to the Zulu for Education + Chivalry.
Trade Chemistry to Azteca for Astonomy, Music Theory, and WM.

We get 3 techs for the price of 1, and will get 35gpt back if Babylon is destroyed soon without a major reputation hit. We are behind Egypt, Japan, and India by Navigation and Banking, are ahead of the Iroquois by Chemistry, and are at parity with everyone else.

Realized that GOTM graphics were on. Tried to turn them off, crashed Civ3. Put them back. Incense looks like rubber now, Dyes look like Oil.
IBT: Gandhi tries to buy Incense for 1 gpt. I get 220 gold instead.
I pay 340 gold to renew our Incense deal with Egypt.
T1 960 Stuff got built. I sold incense to Japan for 10 gpt and 50 gold.
IBT: Japan destroys Babylon. We win back 45 gpt.
T2 970: Egypt has democracy now. I upgrade five horsemen in preparation for a war.

T3 980: Argh. Egypt has Military Tradition. Farewell, all hope of war. Upgraded 5 spears. Buy Aztec Ivory for Incense and 9 gpt.
IBT: 4 new cities celebrate WLTSD. I guess it's gotta be the millenium party.
T4 990: Not much.
IBT: Buy egyptian worker for 30 gold.
T5 1000: NY bank -> worker for the excess pop. Seattle library ->bank. I shop around for Mil Trad. Gandhi asks 47 gpt and 120 gold.
IBT: Loads of Egyptian troops shuffle in the south.
T6 1010. Forgot this turn...

T7 1020: I pay Gandhi a straight 70 gpt for Democracy, then revolt.

T8 1030: We are a democracy, making about 100 gpt more then previously!

T9 1040: Palace expansion.
IBT: Renew Silks deal with India for an extra 1 gpt.
T10 1050: Renew Zulu trade. I change to Physics and Wines for Incence, 315 gold and 42 gpt.

Wall Street coming up. We'll have to invade Egypt with Infantry/Tanks. Min sci just started, pick your own new age.

I left a portal for the next ruler which leades directly to the throne room.

Sorry to be a party-pooper but weren't we supposed to stay in Monarchy for the whole of the Middle Ages

Medieval Curse: We must stay in Monarchy throughout the Middle Ages. The King is a holy person and can cleanse places, cast out demons, break curses etc etc. (no in-game King though.)

Should we revolt to Monarchy on the next turn, or it it late enough in the Middle Ages to ignore the rule?
