I flashed the Bios on my eMachines T2341 (using nvidia AGP 5700 FX I think) and that fixed my frequent CTD problem. I still get some corrupted textures after like three hours of playing, but I haven't CTD'd (or just simply hung) in two whole games since I flashed my Bios. CTD or hangs were about every 30 minutes prior to the flashing.
It's sort of a risky manuver, and don't do it if you don't know what you are doing, but it worked for me.
