Embassy to Sirius

But we do want to hog the island. I see absolutely no good reason why we should tell them what we are up to. Revealing our plans so they can meddle with them will not keep us as allies. They will stay allied with us as long as it is beneficial to them.

Well we seem to have a deadlock then. I'm not going to send the message, as I said, it was the easiest way to bring up the issue. I am very concerned about the position we will be in after the war. We've alienated CDZ to the point where they will surely want to slit our collective throats as soon as they can. We came out not looking very good in that dispute, and if we appear to be grabbing land it will worsen our image.

Since communication is so low, if we communicate effectively with Sirius, we can gain an advantage in this war, and hopefully an ally in the next. Getting the whole island to ourselves isn't going to help us if the rest of the ETTT gangs up on us.

We don't have to start talking with Sirius until after we launch our invasion though, we can bargain from a position of strength, and demonstrate that our attack has helped the ETTT.

Nonetheless, if CDZ and Sirius decide they want to attack us, we should be okay with Amazonian support. If we manage to grab the Home Island, we will have it plus the peninsula under our control. That will give us a huge production advantage, and if every single civ is fighting a two-front war, than the ones that used the most on the war (us and Amazons) will have the greatest production, therefore the bigger, better military, therefore a victory. Aggressively taking as much as we possibly can from the Mavericks seems to be a win-win.

Got this from Sirius:
Quatronian allies:

Per your request, we have offered you (or soon will) stone in-game. We'd would like you to know that we will need it relatively soon ourselves, however, so we'd like to know how many turns you think you will need it. Our current understanding is one turn. Is that correct?

Also, we apologize, but we can't keep track of who is researching what. Our previous correspondences suggested you were researching Printing Press. We are currently researching Nationalism. We would like to suggest to the ETTA as a whole that all teams focus on research so that we can build a significant tech advantage over Mavericks/Merlot. What are your feelings about such a proposal?

My reply:
Dear Team Sirius:

Thanks for the gift of stone again, we do appreciate it! We did a whip this turn and we are hoping to keep the stone through all of next turn so we can put the overflow from this whip in Moai. After that we wouldn't need it anymore. Would this work for you guys?

Also, feel free to ask us for resources if you ever need anything. We have silver available right now if you need any.

Regarding tech: If seems we have our ETTT wires all crossed up again :( We are two turns away from completing Nationalism and thought another ETTT member was doing Printing Press...

We heartily agree with you about emphasizing tech and we've been running binary researching now instead of stockpiling for more upgrades. Merlot/Mavs have beelined Guilds and have access to knights now. So it really makes sense to get ahead of them tech wise instead of attacking them now with like or even inferior units.

Looks good. Maybe we should consider communicating with Sirius more often in order to coordinate attack plans to beat them down- if both stacks had attacked at once on the island, things may have gone differently. Though there is still the issue of who gets the wonders- we could suggest that we gat Injinya, and they get the other 2 cities on the island. That way both teams get the cities closest to them. Does Gold City have any wonders?
