Enhanced User Interface v1.30m

Hello! I'd like to try this, but there is no such thing as a UI-bc1 folder anywhere in my directory as you can see in the attachment:

I can see hidden files too, and I've tried looking around in the sub folders of DLC, but found no UI-bc1 folder anywhere. My only guess is that it's the shared folder?

I haven't renamed anything in that folder either, I'm sure of it.

EDIT : Comparing the files found in the UI_bc1 I downloaded, there is no folder that seem to match =/.

Just copy the UI_Bc1 folder, contained in the .rar file you downloaded, into your DLC folder. There is no file to replace.

Hi there. I just installed this mod yesterday and tried it out for the first time. Its fantastic, except the "notification ribbon" doesn't appear at all for me. Yes, I do have the single player score list UNchecked. It was actually unchecked by default already. But I get no notifications whatsoever now. There's nothing along the right edge of the screen.
Also, there is no border expansion audio.

What makes this really disappointing is that I can't get the notifications to work even if I turn ON the single player score list. So no notifications no matter what I do, unless I uninstall the mod, which is frustrating now because I really love the UI.

I'm using a Steam copy of BNW which is up to date.
I have no other mods installed.
I downloaded the mod from here.

Thanks for the dump.
It shows there is a bug (typo) which occurs only with touch enabled PCs (I do not have one = untested).
Could you please test the attached "NotificationPanel.lua" replacement file (needs to overwrite existing EUI file in appropriate subfolder), thanks
Cheers

I had this bug too. The fix you made seems to bring the notifications back, but I only fit in a few minutes of game time before shutting down for the night. I'll report back after I've given it a few hours of play. Looks like a great mod! :)

Well it seems I read the instructions to UPDATE the mod instead of install it >.<.
Ty for the answer everyone

Hello, I've just installed the mod and for some reason clicking with my mouse on Choose Production does nothing.

Any help please?

@Edit - Forgot to mention I use "DLL - Various Mod Components (v 49)" by William Howard and a lot of "his Pick N' Mix" mod collection.

Is there any version for screens with very low resolution? I use my TV as a screen and I am not able to get a better resolution.

Especially I got serious problems with the top panel:

Please help me!!! :(

Hello bc1! Your mod is fantastic! Thank you for your great work.

I'm having two small issues and I have one little suggestion to give, if I may. For the suggestion, I would love to see tooltips implemented for mouse-hovering units badges, numerical info about its actual/total health, experience points and its promotions. Would be nice to see the details of the unit without having to click on it.

About the issues, one has already been reported by someone: the (gonne) options menu. I have to delete the options folder from inside UI_bc1 to be able to use the options menu because if I don't, then when I click the options button I'm taken to an empty options menu, from where I can't get out unless I alt+F4.

The other issue is with tooltips of the AI civs. When I mouse-hoover either the cities names, the civ's badges on the right side or the civ's attitude towards me on the diplo screen, I get the same error message on the tooltip:

Spoiler :
Assets\DLC\UI_bc1\ToolTips\InfoTooltipInclude.lua:1923:attempt to call method 'GetDoFCounter' (a nil value)

But that doesn't happens when I hoover my own civ or a civ that's at war with me. Both cases return normal tooltips.

My game version is 1.03.18, I'm playing BNW with all DLCs in Windows 7 and both issues happens either I'm playing only with your mod or along with others. I also tried deleting the cache and reloading and even redownloading and reinstalling the mod.

Edit: Tried to get some SS, but I can't get. Is there any key to save an SS from inside the game?

@Tiramisu: Just delete the TopPanel folder from UI_bc1 to go back to the vanilla top panel.

Yeah, I have deleted it already, but the vanilla top panel is not much better for me. I think it would help a lot, if the buttons for the menu and for the help would disappear and if the readout for strategic ressources would be reduced to one symbol.

... My game version is 1.03.18 ...
EUI is NOT compatible with older game versions: it requires the latest game update (1.03.144) to operate without errors.
Also, please note EUI is no longer compatible with Howard's "UI - City Expansion": the combination causes lack of production selection just like your report.
Cheers

Thanks a lot, I'll just remove "UI - City Expansion" and be happy again:goodjob:

I'm feeling the dumbest person in the world. I could have checked my game version before, couldn't I! Updated and now everything works as it should. Thanks! :D

It's easy enough to change static strings by editing TopPanel.xml. However, there's really only one in EUI's TopPanel. Change HELP to ? by looking for "<TextButton ID="CivilopediaButton"... and change the String field from ="TXT_KEY_HELP_CAPS" to ="?".

The rest of the strings are dynamic, so for those you'll going to need to edit TopPanel.lua. The easy ones: Look for "{TXT_KEY_RETURN:upper}" (line 395 on my copy of the latest beta) and change it to, say, "X" for close (note, no squiggly brackets). 3 lines down change "{TXT_KEY_MENU:upper}" to "M". Look for "{TXT_KEY_TP_TURN_COUNTER}" (line 721, which converts to Turn:). Change it to "T:"

The resource stuff is on 1771. It's going to take some doing to convert all of the strategic icons to one icon and then fill in all the info into a giant tooltip, but it is do-able.

EDIT: If you want to base your changes on the TopPanel from the base game, it's a similar process, but you'd want to edit the files located in (at least on my PC): C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\Expansion2\UI\InGame [that's for BNW, change Expansion2 to Expansion if you have only G+K, remove the DLC\Expansion2 part for vanilla only.] I suggest you make backups first.

Just finished an extended 8 hour session with 1.16. It worked great for me.

downloading and testing v 1.17 tonight

At least I would like to. The link only connects to attachment.php for a download.

It's either your web browser or CivFanatics website that screwed up. Try left clicking rather than right-click, Save As. Or use a different web browser.

Just played for a little while with the 1.17 version. I miss the little bars in the upper left corner menu for culture and faith. And some of the earlier city expansion announcements don't delete themselves while end turn and can't be delete with right mouse click. Everything else seems to be working fine until now.

@Nutty thanks. It's exploder 11 Firefox works well as usual.

@bc1 Text Strings for Explorers, and both scrambled map packs are not showing up correctly in the advanced setup. Tested with all mods disabled and all of the UI_bc1 folders enabled. Will look at v1.17 in more depth in the morning.

No supposed to be this way, EUI seems to be incorrectly installed: need to exit the game, delete previous install, install new version. If that does not work, need more info such as lua.log - see OP

What language is your game set to use ? Try deleting EUI_text.Civ5Pkg + clear game cache see if that helps. Otherwise, need lua.log etc... see OP

Cheers

Standard install language is English for me. I have not changed that at all. I cleared the cache before testing last night and that did not work. However I deleted EUI_text.Civ5Pkg and cleared the cache again and with that file deleted it works just fine.

The mod works well. I ran it for a few hours this morning with no issues. I like the new mouse-over tooltips on the ribbon.

I'm not nit-picking but seeing the word "score" becomes tiresome as if someone didn't get the message the first time they saw it.

Thanks for such an awesome mod!

That narrows the problem down to the new localization module. What exactly was the problem ? Could you please provide more details to reproduce and/or a screenshot ? Thanks.
