erezNES - Waves of Civilization

I rather like the second map, but it's very different compared to what other fresh start maps are light and is a bit off kilter, but I like it a lot more than the current maps.

No! I lost my hold as richest nation in the world! Although Carime can be counted as part of my nation.

And I will never, ever, change my orders until Sicily is conquered. Tribal federations are fun!

Welcome brothers, welcome to your destiny.
For generations the Latin people have traveled the lands, without home, without purpose. Now, your travels have come to an end for you have reached the borders of the land of Bacco, Primus Deus, God among Gods, where the Cittabacco live in his honour.
Years ago Bacco himself came down to earth, chose this land and these people as his. However he told the people that they were not complete jet. A large host would come, the people of this host would be brothers of the Cittabacco by the bonds of Bacco. They would Cittabacco themselves, Bacco proclaimed, and his people would be complete, capable of reaching a prosperity far larger than they would separately.
And now you have come, our brothers, our sisters, our kin. We rejoice in you arrival. Finally the Cittabacco are complete and Bacco will grant us prosperity, wealth and power.
We welcome you into our arms and into our hearts. Those of you most skilled in crafts, farm, war and command are invited into the ranks of the Populum Sanctum. The others are free to settle inside our borders and if there is no room left inside our borders. Settle next to them, for where the Cittabacco live, that is Bacco's land and there they will prosper.

Welcome, my brother, to your people, your destination and you purpose.

The new military system seems more accurate now! If not more expensive..:cringe:. But seriously, It will help make a more realistic NES.

Can I just suggest one thing?
Spoiler :
Military: 1800 Militia, 200 Warriors (-2)
I think that it would be nice if you used a sectional divider when it comes to the "200 Warriors & other units."

For example:
Military: 1800 Militia, [200 Warriors {1}, ] (-2)

Breakdown: ['] Brackets to outline the unit section. Then the Unit Name/ Amount of men in that individual unit. Then {'} to signify how many of those individual units you have trained (Example: For two 200 Warrior units have {2}.)

Then after the closing bracket have the combined upkeep of those trained units like you already have.

I dont know if it would actually help any more or not, it is just a suggestion and I dont mind if you decide not to use it.

It seems a bit complicated, I also don't see why I should put the standing forces in brackets? As for the writing the number of units, it would help me. I will probably add it.

OOC: Finally someone chooses assimilation!

IC:
from some Latins:
Brothers! We have gone on this long journey because our own gods have spoken of brothers far away at the edge of a large peninsula! We have finally found you! We shall join and settle within your lands!
from other Latins:
Who are you? We are to find a new home. If we choose we shall settle on your lands, if we choose otherwise we shall find other lands to settle. You do not interest us.

OOC: Finally someone chooses assimilation!
OOC: 17000 militia against 3700, what choice did I have :p

IC:
from some Latins:
Brothers! We have gone on this long journey because our own gods have spoken of brothers far away at the edge of a large peninsula! We have finally found you! We shall join and settle within your lands!

Welcome, welcome. This day will for ever be remembered and celebrated. A feast will be held in honour of the Adfixio on the foundations of the Grand Temple.

from other Latins:
Who are you? We are to find a new home. If we choose we shall settle on your lands, if we choose otherwise we shall find other lands to settle. You do not interest us.

You refuse and deny Bacco? Oh lost brother, how can you ignore your purpose, your destiny. Listen to your friends, your kin, they have heard and understood. True prosperity lies with your people, but if you choose to go your own way we will not stand in your way. Bacco will judge your ignorance. We pray he'll be of understanding heart and keep you.
Know that you can always find a home with us, your brothers by Bacco's bond.

Both those maps are amazing, although I prefer #1 for the colors being a bit easier to see. Especially in Iberia, all I see is a mass of blue. It's like Germany next to the Byzantine Empire in Civ4 in a very forested area. It just doesn't work :p

EDIT: By the way, where is the Celtic horde?

I prefer the first map as well. Makes it easier to distinguish from hordes and grey areas. Also I find it easier to view the different civs and trade routes.

Can I get some stats for the Cheng'Fung? I can't find them anywhere.

I also prefer the first map, because its hordes are not light grey and its borders are easier to determin. Map 2 is just too jarring and barbarians are too hard to see on it.

EDIT: By the way, where is the Celtic horde?

The big dark grey that's going to cross the Pyrenees .

Can I get some stats for the Cheng'Fung? I can't find them anywhere.

They don't have it yet. Hmmm. I'm still not sure I can have a regional unique unit.

Hmmm
Siwang League 150 Cheng'Fung 3ep(cost) 3ep(upkeep) The Cheng'Fung are highly trained, highly equipped and highly influential forces of the Siwang League. They are very expensive to train, equips and keep, but they are powerful enough to worth the money for they may just be the most powerful units of the era.

They will have their own stats, but they will make no income. They will have a color on the map but their base will move around according to where they are. You guys (the alliance states) will have to finance them - which will also be an influence thing.

Nm he just did weird math. He didn't do what I thought he did. Which is weird.

Marduk kneeled before the altar of Ninurta, bronze spear in hand and spoke a prayer before sacrificing the lamb. He would need the divine favor in what was to come. Hordesmen from the east had led his tribe to migrate northwards. The chief was a coward, but there was no fixing that now, the easterlings where simply to numerous to fight and they had proven themselves more than worthy opponents in combat. Clerely, living amongst the mesopotamians has decayed our strength. He lifted his spear when suddenly, the torch above the altar fell from its wooden holding and the sacrificial lambs corpse began to burn. At first, Marduk was scared, had he displesed the war god? Was the diety ordering them to face the innumerable easterling force? Then the realization hit him. Torches. That was the answer. Nothing would scare an ox more than a facefull of burning inscence. The frightened animal would derail the chariot. Nothing was better at removing wooden barricades than the firey torch. The war god had smiled upon him, there will be burning blood tonight.

OOC: This is the equipment for my militias (at least those that I can equip), torches and spears.

The Chen'Fung experiment has been successful. If everyone but one nation sends 1EP we should be able to upkeep one division for a season. I shall create a order of our nations where for one season that nation will not be required to pay the upkeep should it choose to. However, we recommend sending gifts to them to help keep them financed anyways. The order is as such:

1)Jinzhou
2)Yuanti
3)Xian
4)Chi'zuna
then repeat

To: Baozhou

As you may have noticed almost every nation of Xin now joins together to repel the Harhana hoards from our land. This is the time to act if we never want to see them threaten us again. We ask that you help us and yourself in this endeavor by sending men to help us in the battle. Will the name of Baozhou be one that is sung by the story tellers as ones who helped their brethren fight back the barbaric Harhana? Or will you cower and be known as weaklings who were too scared to stand up and fight the barbarians?

From the rest of the league:
While expensive, that is agreeable.

From Baozhou:
We truly would like to aid you, but the Oracle has spoken in our city - he have told of a greater evil that would come if the Harhana are wholly defeated. We will send some units, but please, think twice! We also would like to be part of your league.

OOC: Do you want me to read your orders ahead of time so I could give you notes on problems and such?

OOC: won't matter b/c can't fix them before the lock.

From Xian
To Baozhou

I am not sure about this greater evil, but nevertheless we cannot allow the Harhana to say as powerful as they still are. I cannot accept you into the League without a vote but Xian will vote that you join it.

Yeah I guess you're right.

I am sure that if you will talk to the others will accept us. OOC: Thought than the name "league of four kings" won't fit ;)

Liu=Six
Qi=Seven
Ba=Eight
Jiu=Nine
Shi=Ten

Note, this is not a direct translation. Si also means vegetable strips, death, and a myraid of other different words that happen to be pronounced EXACTLY THE SAME.
