Escape From Zombie Island 2: The Remake

LizardmenRule!... Sounds like your game is going well and you can relax as you Destroy the Island
...Yes, General Fullbright is intended to upgrades to a Tank. This was to provide an inexpensive Tank and to Give the General something to do...he enjoys driving around in his Tank and Blasting the enemy :D

I thought so, and it was very handy indeed.

i was worried for a while when the zombies got skreeches (sp?), cos they are so fast and powerful, but i found a good way to deal with them was to cop a death of a unit in a city, but have groups of SWAT teams stationed in buildings 5+ squares away to snipe the b@$t@rd as it moved away from the city.

and, although i was weary of monster zombies, they are not really that scary. they can only move on roads, giving you lots of areas to stack sniping units to blast them away, and they can never get close enough to attack buildings if you have enough sniping units.

some that annoyed me was the survivors were attacking the school at the same time i was, but while i was sniping with my SWATs and marines, and bombarding with my tanks, they were throwing spunky kids and guard dogs against alpha zombies, who then enslaved new alpha zombie when the kids died! i killed probably 8-10 more alpha zombies than i needed to.

oh, and another thing, troop trucks are AWESOME for hit and runs. load up a troop truck with SWATs, take them three squares out of a building, unload them, they all fire off one shot each, load them back in and return to the building. effectively this means you are able to bombard five squares in one direction

LizardmenRule!... You must have been attacking another building because the Survivors Own the School and even if they lose it, it could not have Sated Alpha Zombies. The Zombies could run a Roaming Alpha Zombie to the building. In any case, I understand that it can be annoying that the other AI Factions attack and lose their units which provide more enslaved units for the Zombies. All part of the Game... IF nothing else, it makes winning more enjoyable.
... Spunky Kids are for scouting and gathering the stray supply drops as well as their ability to "Bombard" (throw Rocks) with some strategic affect. In order for a Unit to be able to pick up stray supply drops, they have to be a fighting unit. Spunky Kids have great Stats for their low cost which is why the AI builds many of them. I may be able to find a slight adjustment that will cause the AI Survivors to build more of the other units without removing the intended abilities of the Spunky Kids... Planning on looking into this more for the Update.
...You are discovering some good techniques to get better use from units such as the Troop Trucks. Cars can also be used in the same way. IF the AI was as smart, we would see a much tougher game indeed and the AI would use the Bombard "Shooting" ability that some units have rather than their direct attacks.

I use the troop trucks mostly to ferry around my massive armies. And I use them to have the king units use drive-bys. As in, they use up all their MP attacking, and then they are carried to safety by the truck. Fun stuff. Though fairly useless now with bombard.

Well, they can still win a conquest victory (i presume), but yeah, its an effective way :D

The Authorities have restored order to most of the island. With the zombie threat neutralised in the south, all forces were directed to the ground-zero of the outbreak and laid waste to the research centre; tank fire, naval bombardment and sniping from SWAT and Marines squads eradicated the lingering living dead.

upon entering the research centre, however, the military found evidence of the company's experiments. orders from high up the chain of command state that "in view of the scientific atrocities committed by the Company in question, all evidence of this negligent experiment must be destroyed and those responsible for - and those who are deemed to have knowledge of - the actions of the Company must be liquidated to protect the national interest".

In laymans terms, I've destroyed the Zombies, and are now planning on taking the whole island, the company first (cos they are the reason we are here in the first place), the farmers second (they kinda look like zombies, with all that inbreeding ;)) and the survivors last (to ensure the safety of the world, all those at risk of 'incubating' the zombie virus must be eradicated )

Extracts from news stories around the world said:
*...the military claims a secondary outbreak of the unknown virus is the reason for the raid on the farm, while others...*

*...reports are just coming in of at least twenty-three children, some as young as eight, being murdered by soldiers in the "cleansing mission" on Paradise Island...*

*...experts say they suspect small-yield, tactical nuclear weapons were used in the aftermath of the epidemic on Paradise Island. The military has...*

*...Fullbright, however, has defended his decisions and the actions of the troops on the ground, calling them 'heroes' and claiming the brutal use of force was necessary to stop the spread of the virus to the mainland...*

Conquest victory at 4am on Day 13. The news that the zombie threat had been annihilated caused the survivors, farmers and the company to drop their guard, and the authorities took control, using (as one news story claimed ;)) Hellfire missiles on the three survivor buildings.

Vuldacon (sorry for killing ya mate :)) survived a nuclear blast tho, i think he was the only one

Aahahahaa...you can prevent the Survivors from ever winning that way :)

No, you can't However, you can stop them from winning that way by razing the Airport.

LizardmenRule!... Well, it isn't the first time I have been in the Wrong place at the right time  Had the Survivors managed to upgrade him before his death? Curious because the AI usually uses the "Special Units" and gets them killed off early. Congratulations on your Win...but the General did not know that the Virus had already been spread to the Mainland and his efforts to stop the Virus from spreading by killing everyone on the Island was in vain. :D

Concerning the Paradise Airport... I will remove the Air and Naval Defense to prevent it from being destroyed. It Really would not make any difference to the AI since they are not able to make it to the Mainland TV station due to faulty "thinking" and failure to manage their units. However, it would not be desirable to have the Paradise Airport Destroyed by the AI at any time IF a player was playing as the Survivors. I have never seen this happen but it would be possible.

I don't think so, you were still Vuldacon, not a Master yet...

I never saw Hannibal either, i think he carked it early. And Zeb gave me a nasty surprise! i had killed all the other units at the farm, and then i saw supply boxes, so i moved a unit in to take the farm, and Zeb jumped out from behind the boxes and started firing!

Shouldn't destroying the paradise airport not matter? The helicopter can only be built there, but it doesn't need the improvement to be built, does it?

The Big Finale (tech) + Pilot (resource) = Rescue Helicopter (unit). However, the Wonder is there to prevent razing so it's feasible that the city could be razed. The tile with the pilot resource can't be roaded to so the Survivors would be stuffed. (unless a colony hooks it up to a sewer access improvement?)

I just completed a six game testing of adjustments for the Update concerning the Paradise Airport, the Zombie Research Center (Bastion) and Spunky Kids. The Paradise Airport cannot be Destroyed by Bombardment and the AI Survivors will now build more Bad Ass units than Spunky Kids before gaining Pyromaniac Units.
Alpha (Roaming Zombies have an extra Defense Point and the Zombie Nurses have an extra Hit Point. To Compensate the Research Center, it is now set with more defense due to removing the Air and Naval Defense settings for the "Test Lab Wonder" there.

by the way...I like your new Avatar King Arthur.

...OK, I am going back to work on the Omega Zombie. :)

Edit: Just wanted to say that the Survivors upgraded King Arthur, Mr. Tokugawa, Hannibal and Vuldacon in my games.

by the way...I like your new Avatar King Arthur.

ARTHUR: Well, I am King!
DENNIS: Oh, King, eh, very nice. And how d'you get that, eh? By exploiting
the workers! By 'anging on to outdated imperialist dogma which
perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society. If
there's ever going to be any progress with the--
WOMAN: Dennis, there's some lovely filth down here. Oh! How d'you do?
ARTHUR: How do you do, good lady? I am Arthur, King of the Britons. Who's
castle is that?
WOMAN: King of the who?
ARTHUR: The Britons.
WOMAN: Who are the Britons?
ARTHUR: Well, we all are. We are all Britons, and I am your king.
WOMAN: I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous
collective.

It's not possible to hook it up any other way if the building is razed. Roads can't be built leading to the Airport, and there does not exist a sewer resource to link it up, so thus colonies are useless to try to be built.

Some workers should be able to have a "Build Sewer" Option, and Sewers replace airports. Either for humans (place it on "Humanity") or just for the Survivors (Sewer rat tech.)

Yeah, it seems kind of strange that the airport wouldn't be able to have a sewer going to it once it was taken. I realized that after I had seized it as the Authorities, and it started to build Riot Cops. On Day 8.

The zombie threat has been completely eliminated by the proper application of military power as leverage against the undead. The Farmers and the Company made threatening gestures towards the remaining Survivors on the island, and as the sole source of authority on the island, we have begun to move SWAT Team personnel, tanks, and Marines to defend and eliminate the dangerous tyrannical nature of these who would destroy the fabric of our society.

So far, efforts have succeeded in taking the Dog Pound, the Wild Boar Inn, and forces are repositioning themselves for Sales and Marketing and the Warehouse to further remove these SMG-wielding scum.

I for one would be really interested in a multiplayer game of this as well. Wouldn't mind having some smart opponents (especially since the Authorities and the Farmers can only win by Conquest, which makes the other players' elimination only that more assured).

Bluemofia and BrianL03... There is no need to have workers build Manholes for Sewer Accesses. The Paradise Airport does not have Roads connecting to it or a Sewer Access for Game Play reasons. It is the Only place the Survivors can build the Rescue Helicopter. IF it had a Sewer Access, the Rescue Helicopter could be built in any building due to connecting the pilot "resource" to all buildings. The main thing this would affect is where the Helicopter can land on the Mainland. IF built in one of the Closer Company Buildings for example, they could land directly on top of the TV Station with the same number of moves for the Rescue Helicopter. This could be changed as that is not extremely important but just as building Tanks and Jets would not seem appropriate if built in other buildings such as the School or Mr. Tokugawa's House, etc..., a Rescue Helicopter should only be built at the Airport. The Other factors are The Survivors are suppose to only be able to escape by gaining the Paradise Airport and if the Paradise Airport was connected by Roads or a Sewer Access, the Zombies would also have the Building Connected and be able to build any unit there.
