Escape From Zombie Island 2: The Remake

Screw Logic...this is "B" Rate horror!!!

Zombie movies dont make sense...they are just Zombie movies...Ive been watching em all my life, and this scenario has bits of flavor from all the classics (even multiple cameos by Ash as the champion)...there is a great story line...yesterday this island was a paradise, now there are zombies, science guys, and a huge military presence...nuff sed :)

that said, I encourage you to take your idea and go with it...I would love to play a more "Mob of Zombies" scenario...a few lone people against unsurmountable waves of zombies, shambling across the cemeteries and parking lots...

ge0matrix...

though i do think i have the ability to do so -i am currently working on my phd in computer science in Germany, after previously studies in mathematics and computer science- i surely lack of time for such a project.
Additionally, I don't think I would continue such a game, mostly because it's not my own concept. If I actually had the time, i would surely do something similar but with an entirely different background theme. I surely liked that concept of a town zoomed map and hours-counting instead of years-counting. It's a very alternative view on civ3, actually an entirely different game, i wouldn't recognize it if someone else (had downloaded and) was playing it.

So, great congrats on that project :goodjob: and really big congrats on your support. You really took your time with my questions and comments, that's quite remarkable, and -sadly- uncommon for the game creator.
:goodjob:

edit: PS: i just finished the game victoriously! :D I think about 9-10 hours of game :S

ge0matrix... I understand...I started working on this game after it had been out for several years. When I started, it was not my intention to do all I have done but it developed into far more and after so much work, I decided to try and complete and improve what had been started. It is always much easier to work on ones own game concept than it is to work from what was started by someone else. Considering all the limitations, I have done the best I could working on this game.
I have another Game Called "Dragan" that is my long term personal Game Project that I have worked on since CIV III came out.

Science and Art have been my life long studies and Computers were not available as they are now when I was young. I now Build my own computers and have learned to use them and many programs well but IF I was younger I would master making a Great Game Engine in all respects that I could use and make available for others.

Mathematics and Computer Science will no doubt help you with a good career in those ares but they deal fundamentally more with what is known to be absolutes or facts in reality rather than abstracts or Creative Fantasy. This is probably what causes you to see things such as Zombie Specialists as wrong. Depending on ones point of view, things can be quite different indeed.

Good Luck with your studies and thanks for the kind words :)

Swargey... WOW, What a Great Comment :)
...Hold on to your Hat because the Update that will add even more Fun to the Game will be Ready to Upload as soon as Testing is Completed.

Yay! :) I haven't been on alot lately to check things...how goes the testing for the update?

Yes. Quite a lot but it's best left as a surprise ;) Perhaps Vuldacon will fill you in but I'll keep quiet.

Well, mathematics are all about fantasy and abstraction. Its practically everything in mathematics. At least in the university, if you havent got a quite big imagination you cannot -or only with much difficulties- get past the second or third semester.
There is an anecdote about that, with a maths professor who had a helper for many years, and then one day this helper wasnt there anymore. SO somebody asked the professor where the helper is and he replied: Well he quit, because he didn't have enough imagination. Hes a poet now ;) :D

And that didn't have much to do with my comments about zombie workers, i think i just took it a little too serious than it was indented to be, and i wasnt aware of the game limitations...

But anyways, i do think i will make a mod sometime on civ3, if there's still an active community -and i do hope there will still be one-, due to some nice ideas i have.

So, i'm eagerly awaiting for your update and i'll post some comments about it.

Thank you for your good words
greetings

umm.. regarding your zombie professor story adjustment, I think it's not really worth it. Personally I think the zombie "research" just as a really fast evolution and a professor who is bent on world destruction is just too overused story element even for EFZI2 :).

But all your other ideas are good and they could be done with the CIV IV engine what has a possibility for events and such.Sadly there ain't no talk about a Escape from Zombie Island-scenario for it.

there is a way of events, with wonders which spawn hordes of monsters at a given time (like in the conquest of middle earth mod with the mordor and rohan army)

Wow, just wow. The sated alphas are getting REAAAAAAALY annoying, as are all the zombie nurses and swarms! Maybe I should just start over. The Revenant died easy.

Swargey... Yes, the Update is being Game Tested to make sure the game play is as intended. As soon as any needed adjustments and testing are completed, the Update will be ready to upload.

Too Many things to list here that are in the Update. It is loaded with improvements and additions that finish and polish the game more.

ge0matrix... I am sure this Forum will be here for many years to come and there is always room for more Games that anyone wants to create.

mythmonster2... Save Reverend Simmons and rescue Sam Hammer, then Upgrade them when you have Ammo. Good Luck against the Zombies...those Nurses are Not "Angels of Mercy"

Yeah, I'm starting over and the Reverend is safe underneath the civilian, but he's out in the open in the road!

I have NEVER rescued Sam hammer...

[edit] I always rescue Rev. tho...and get Freddie back safe too... :)

I hate to say it, but I think he is unneeded in my strategy...

I am curious tho...I will rescue him next game...

I've rescued Sam Hammer once or twice. I manage to rescue the reverend every time
Spoiler :
, but Mike Rush is usually watching his back...

Sam Hammer can be Rescued when you play ANY Faction on turn two every time.
It is not suppose to be any Real "Secret" as to how to capture Sam Hammer and it was my intention that a Human Player rescue him early on turn two.

This is the Reason why I placed Bubba, Paul Snake Diago and Freddie up North so they could run to the Street west of the Detective Agency on turn One and then get Sam on Turn Two, who will usually be on a Skyscraper above the Detective Agency. The Company can Run the T-800 from the Secret Lab to the Skyscraper by Sales and Marketing on turn one then get Sam on turn two.
NOTE: If the Terrain is NOT revealed around the Detective Agency on turn one, the Zombies will Always send Sam Out and you will gain him on turn two. You can use the Company Helicopter to reveal that area but don't reveal it on turn one. Head that way if you want but wait until turn two to reveal the Detective Agency area.

The Update has some changes to the Map such as a Street that goes through above the Detective Agency to allow the Company Delivery Car fast access across. It can transport a Unit IF needed to gain Sam but generally if the Area around the Detective Agency is Not Revealed, Sam will be there for you on turn Two so even a Company Security unit can gain him without having to use the T-800.
Now Go Rescue Sam Early for your Game :)

Cool! Can't wait for it, I'll keep checking this thread periodically.

...."Angles of Mercy"

Um, I believe you mean Angels of Mercy, angles are in shapes :D

Finally got back to playing this again... after two more restarts in the first turn as the survivors I think I finally made a minimal amount of mistakes so that I could continue.

Took the graveyard and hospital and have only lost Timmy. I should have the Fast Food Chain in a turn or two and was planning on grabbing the radio station next... or should I focus on the armory?

Sewers are in working order, most of my heroes have been upgraded, and it is still day two.

My biggest fear: I researched "Revenge of the Nerds" as my second tech, thinking the Daleks would be sweet... w/o realizing I need Jeff Morris. Pretty much a wasted 7 turns of research and I am worried that could be my undoing.

What order of buildings do you focus on (as any faction), and what order of tech do you go for (any faction)? I'm just curious what strategies other players are going for.

Thanks for the great scenario!

For whatever reason I can trade luxuries and resources with the company, but not the authorities... even when I can see a road unobstructed leading to authority buildings. I'm also not sure what terrain I can and can not build roads on. (trying to link up the armory)
