Exact time of release?

Yeah, it's a literal translation from Dutch, here it's 'summer time' and 'winter time' :p
But indeed, I meant Daylight Saving Time :)

Oh, don't take me too seriously. I knew what you meant. It's just old habit for me to give Europeans a good ribbing about the language differences. It's from talking with some good English friends.. :)

1900 CET seems to line up with 1000 PST, rather than midnight (which was apparently 45 minutes ago in Seattle).

Which means I guess it'll be available for N.Americans in a week, eight hours, and fifteen minutes?

So that's 1pm EDT? Dammit. I'd planned to take the 19th off, but if I'm going to waste half the day unable to play the game, I might as well go into work and take the 20th off instead.

Well, it isn't released in Australia until the 22nd, anyway. The time will presumably be different.

This thread is confusing and I haven't seen any concrete answers to the question posed in the title. So what is the exact release time for, say, someone in the central time zone in the U.S.? Noon? Does pre-ordering make any difference?

I see it now thanks.
Yikes I've got the same, got me scared for a minute.
That it is now in the DLC list, does that mean that the expansion is considered as 'DLC' and thus the older Civ version cannot be played again? I do not really mind that, but I know that there have been others that were worried about it.

Anyone knows where you can check on which moment G&K will be downloaded?

No. It's been shown that there is a DLC list in game where you can choose to turn off each DLC individually. If GaK is now being listed as a 'DLC' then it's likely going to be just another item in that list for you to turn off.

Assuming that's your wacky European phrase for Daylight Saving Time...yes, yes we do. :p

Honestly though...I like it. Summer time...makes everything sound bright and cheery, and not at all like it's robbing me of a precious hour of sleep.

~R~
Despite different names, people still think the same about it :P its either "Oh man, now I've got to get up one hour earlier!" or "Oh man, now I've got to go one hour earlier to bed!"

It would be good to know the time since that will be when Civfanatics will stop working for a period of time and I don't have to keep seeing the 'server is busy' message. :)

this thread has too many acronyms for my liking.

Wait a damn minute. This game is coming out at 10:00 PST on the 19th?! What the hell is the point of preordering the damn game if you have to wait 10 whole hours to play it on release day? I could walk down to the game store, buy it, install it, and play it before it is even accessible on Steam....

it's been said like 3 or 4 times, but yes.

I don't think you could play it, Steam would probably lock you out of it until it activates.

There's never, ever a reason to pre-order a game in the Steam Age except to save money.

I'm confused after reading this thread. I thought the expansion was coming out on the 22nd, now I'm reading the 19th. Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks. :)
