My condolences to Londoners...
Hopefully the number of fatal casualties will remain low.

Igloo, so you going to clear your PM box, or should I just print out my reply and use it as a coaster for my coffee:crazyeye:

Okay, okay, fixed.

And yeah, I have coworkers in company offices in Harrow and in Slough. As far as I know none of them were in or near the explosions today. Terrorist attacks on transportation infrastructure always have a macabre-ly positive effect on our company, as people resort to videoconferencing to avoid travel.

Dang, 40 people killed and 300 injured.

My prayers go with the British people. What a horrible situation. :(

My condolences to people of Great Britain.
Apart from terrible human tragedy, I love city of London and it hurts my heart to hear terrorists put their bloody hands on its people.
Be brave and strong.
My love and grief with you.

We will win this war if the stand together and not attack each other...

Indeed. Today, no-one here is my enemy.

Any dark thoughts of mine are reserved for the unevolved slimes who caused this outrage.

Local news are reporting that a group called Jihad something is claiming responsability. Apparently they're one of the european branches of al-Qaeda.

Yes many experts are saying that the characteristics of this attack indicate such a group. There are some posts on it further back in the thread.

In fact it's quite weird, my first post in the thread is talking of how run down the London underground is. In the first few minutes we were actually reading reports of power surges and technical faults. Quite interesting how the thread progressed.

btw - I notice that we haven't heard from other Londoners like Cruddyleaper and who else is there?

For what it is worth an Australian expert was interviewed and said that he had contacted these people and that it was his opinion that they were not responsible

As odd as this may sound:

I'm going to London in 2 hours from now. I was planning to meet some CFC-members there.

The last few hours, I have become more and more determined to go there, and not have these ****ers change my agenda!

The terrorist probably had bombs ready in all Olympic candidate cities and when London "won" they decided to attack. So I wouldn't be surprised if Paris and other candidates will be attacked too.
I must admit that my obsession with political cartoons did cause me to picture a possible cartoon of different terrorist cells in the candidate cities watching the Olympic bid intently. A little sick but that is exactly what they would have been doing, and that's political humour for you.

There is also the chance that they would have bombed London because of the G8, regardless of the IOC decision.

Well, I've had phone contact with 2 Londoners and one Dutchman working there (all CFC-members). At least they're allright.

One works at LStS and is pretty much shocked.

Stapel: airports are open, but you'll have major difficulty getting anywhere near the centre. Most people at our office are already booking nearby hotels.

@Stapel - I really wouldn't come into London at the moment, at least not if you were hoping to get into the centre of town.
