Moderator Action: It's still not appropriate right now (probably to a lot of Brits), and you're just spamming, too. So stop it.

IRA claimed that it's nothing to do with it.

Copycat?
Obviously the attack on Madrid was very succesful, from a terrorist point of view, so why wouldn't other groups copy the method, to increase their "success"?

Let's just stop pointing fingers now! You all can NOT prove a single thing. Let the appropropriate agencies figure out who to blame. They are undoubtably more skilled in this than we are!

I said Al Quaida in both NY and Madrid, and I say Al Quaida again. This is not a time for political correctness, but for a war on terror, arab national socialist terror with a veil of religious doctrine. Let us drive the stake far into the heart of the beast.

You sound like them, don't you know it?

Something is going on.

This is not Arab terror, I am willing to bet.

This is something new. I would wager the anarchist extremists are at work.

I will have to check on my folks to see if anyone I know is down there.

If any of my family are hurt, I will be cremating the nearest crustie.

PS

This is war now. A social war. The lefties have thrown down the gauntlet.

We can now see what the anarchists think of 'the people.'

:(
You make me want to cry. Really.

Blaming ALL anarchists for this (even if it WAS an anarchist/anarchist organisation), would be like blaming ALL muslims if it turns out to be Al Quaida.

You are the problem here, and people like you are like the deluded people in the US that blamed "Islam" for the 9/11 attacks. :(

If I was on the protest and you came and attacked me, I would take you to court and make sure you spent many years in jail.

Having said that, it's a damn steep jump from clashing with police to cold-blooded murder.

At a time when YOU say we should not joke, you make the sickest comment of all...

Edit: Sorry if this is out of place now, I didn't see the mod comments.

I agree but how they stop them. They have the worlds best spy agencys must try and infillrate them, the worlds best radio people try to intercept there orders, the world best military hunt them down, they try and stop every bag coming into the country and scan it. What more can be done?

This has nothing to do with political correctness!
This is just about figuring out who did this, before you start making accusations!
Your inflaming, xenophibic rant is neither useful nor wanted at this time...
This is a time to help the injured and mourn the dead. The appropriate authorities can place blame later, when tempers have settled....

Edited for spelling...

I'm fine, I'm just south of the river by Southwark Bridge.

Other London posters, please post your location - and stay indoors for now.

It's worth noting that London is not in panic. The emergency services are implementing plans, as is the company I work at, people are contacting friends and relatives to be sure they are safe.

JoeM: I'm not far from you, in Kennington, though I live near Tower Bridge. Same at our company, no panic, people just trying to contact family to make sure they're safe and thinking about how they're gonna get home.

You sound like them, don't you know it?

Do you relise that they just BLEW PEOPLE UP IN FRONT OF HIM. what kinda of response do expect. yes i just heard some al quida took response ability. in germany or somthing. Its is them and you all know it. They are murderers just like the murded australians americans and spainish (and lots more) now they murder british. I say britian should bring back the death penalty..... also to note how cool is a name for a emergency group like "COBRA group"

Don't automatically blame AQ. Agree with everything else.

It won't be the IRA this time round.

However, I'm wondering, what would have happened if Paris or NY had won. Would there have been blasts over there today ?

Maybe Madrid was lucky after all for not winning the Olympics.

This was too well planned and coordinated. Planned ahead. Must be Al Quaeda. I doubt it'll be the G-8 summit protesters or anarchists. It bore the hallmark of AQ. Attacking in a coordinated manner, with multiple blasts, in a rush hour, in a public transport, to aim for max number of kills and wounded in a highlighted day for London just like Madrid the 11-M.

Looks like you'll be getting those ID cards soon. But I trust Blair not to go overboard and come up with insanity like a 'Patriot' act, or things along those lines.

Remember those close to events will be feeling emotional.

Your point is well taken, and I'll immediately agree with you...
BUT if my "rant for calm discussions  " isn't appropriate in this thread, then unfounded accusations shouldn't be in it either...

Please tell me you're not accusing Blair of planting these bombs...

(what a yutz)

My sympathy to the people of London. God save the Queen.
No only an idiot would even dream that idea up.

I blame Blair for the war in Iraq. I hope he goes the way of Aznar.

Yes I find it unforgiveable that our nation was not on RED ALERT for a terrorist attack given all that has been going on. And yes the brunt of the police force was diverted. And yes this should have been picked up by Intelligence.

A friend of mine is in the Met (Metropolitan Police Force), he was called in off leave early yesterday. The reason given was the G8 protests, but I think it's safe to say they were in a state of readiness.

What is interesting is that forces have been diverted to Edinburgh to protect the G8 summit, meanwhile they attack London...

Celebrations for the successful Olympic bid have been cancelled.

They should hold the G8 summit on a ship out in international waters.
