Lateline ABC Australia - An expert has been in contact that the "Secret Organisation of AQ in Europe" Website ... which is claiming responsibility ... suggests that these guys were not responsible as the language used was too weak ... and no authenticated as no additional info has been posted as is the norm ... this expert has also talked to the islamic website administrators as even this indicates that it is fake

As regards to location in London, I'm sitting in Canary Wharf in London Docklands - slightly unnerved by being right next to 1 Canada Square (tallest building in the UK, and a potential target if ever there was one), but, let's face it, the chances are we've had all the blasts by now.

The Underground wil be shut for the rest of the day, apparently. Guess that'll apply to the Docklands Light Railway as well. Wonder how I'm going to get home ?

Tried a ferry accross the Thaems to go to south london or west London main land trains are running just not from london stations

Drakan, the 90 figure is for injuries at Aldgate East (site of one particular explosion). Impossible to tell the numebr of fatalities at the moment, but the general sounds are such that it hopefully won't go that high.

"víctimas" in Spanish are dead, not wounded. It's an english doctor whose claiming there are 90 dead.

In Madrid at first they talked of a couple of dead, only hours later they were talking of 100, the following day it was 200 dead and more than a thousand wounded.

No one can know for sure at this early stage.

I have just watched a convincing argument by a terrorist specialist on Sky and he highlighted the following hallmarks which lead him to believe it was an Islamic Terrorist group and not any of the other option - the jury is still out however:

1) There was no warning. IRA, ETA and so on all issue warnings. Attacks without any notice are an increasing hallmark of Islamic terrorist attacks.

2) The co-ordination of the attacks going off at multiple locations simultaneously.

3) The use of suicide bombers. There is more and more of a realisation and body of evidence coming forward that certainly the bus bombers were suicide operatives.

4) The targets are financial and transport assets. This mirrors the attacks in Madrid and also in New York.

It's quite a convincing argument but we still need to see all the evidence unearthed before we decide conclusively.

I can't blame Provolution for anything he says right now -- he witnessed one of the explosions, for God's sake. After the second tower collapsed on 9/11, I said I hoped the whole Middle East would get nuked to a sheet of glass -- in front of a dozen people at work, half of whom were Muslim, though not Middle Eastern. I didn't mean it, not even then, but I was boiling with so much emotion that it had to come out somewhere. It was either say something vicious, scream, or punch a wall.

I don't know Provolution's posting history to know if these sorts of comments are typical of him, but if they're not, he should be given the benefit of the doubt for a day or two, IMO.

Anyhow, this was to be expected, as someone in this thread already said it was only a question of when, not one of if.

Western leaders have always spoken of a "war" in connection with the anti-terror effort. And in wars people die, not just on one side.

And it seems there was some frantic communication across the coalition nations to beef up security as places like New York entered rush hour. The global reach and co-ordination of these terrorists is quite apparent and clearly feared and expected.
