Fall Flat Release

right click the shortcut and select properties, near the top is the command line. End of that is what loads the mod and it currently says fall further change that to say fall flat. Be sure to get the directory exactly right or it will default to base civ4

You can also go into the civilizations.ini file and tell it to default load a mod...

It should be in this directory: My Documents\My Games\beyond the sword

Open it up in notepad or any text editor...and look for Mod = (line 134 if that helps)

and you want that line to end up looking like this:

Mod = Mods/Fall Flat 0.4 RC Alpha3

I use this way as I play the game through Steam, which seems to always screw up the shortcut properties, or at least I haven't figured it out yet. Bit of a hassle as if you switch back to FfH or FF you have to change the ini file or go through the tedium of unloading and reloading mods in Civ 4.

I'd love to have multiple shortcuts for FF and FFlat but oh well.

Btw, we need an acronym for Fall Flat, and obviously FF is taken.

Myabe FFl?

I think it DOES, but it names it Fall Further because I wasn't paying attention when I made the EXE - the shortcut doesn't come up in my head since they don't work for Steam players (IE, me.)

It will come with a proper shortcut in the next release >_>

Gah, I just realised that you took out guybrush threepwood :(

Sorry, but when people are trying to do a serious business dark fantasy setting, you cannot seriously have floating king puppet heads and guybrush threepwood singing about whatever :D I like the Holy Grail and Monkey Island as much as the next guy, don't get me wrong, and both of these things have their place, but *in my personal opinion* it isn't and shouldn't be Erebus.

The Lanun are a bit silly, but entirely bearable as long as they stay coastal. It's if they get drawn up in a pangea game or start building far inland, seeing scores of pirates kinda looks silly.
They're actually one of my favorite races, though I don't play them too often.

I'm more a Falamar player. Not as "squish everyone!!!!111!!!" as Hannah is, but fun too.

How do you get access to Corpus magic? Does it just flat take the place of Body mana for the scions, or what?

It's Haste, Regeneration, and Summon Flesh Golem (which may be called bind flesh?).

Because Haste and Regeneration don't work for undead, and all Scion units are undead, the Scions have a replacement for that spellset.

Stoneskin is Earth, and is actually fantastic for the Scion Necromancers, as Stoneskin allows them to enter combat with decent chances so they can use their "after I killed some guy" spells.

Gets even more fun with Xivan's Scion Priests with Stoneskin. Delicious Reborn.

Do anything specific in changes regarding Svartalfar and Archers?

Was running a Caravel through their territory while mapping out the other continent...and noticed 2 Archers in one of their coastal cities with a crapload of promotions. Drill 4, Archery 3, Combat 3 etc...ton of promotions for any unit, but especially Archers sitting in a city well away from their front lines.

So I opened up the Worldbuilder and found that they had roughly 8 cities, with 2 to 4 archers in each, and every single archer had a ton of xp...the lowest I saw was 161 and change xp, the highest was in the 240 neighbourhood.

Seems pretty strange to me. I guess it could be explained through a long long war, but even so, I wouldn't expect the Archers in the cities away from the fights to be so highly promoted.

Haven't seen this in any FF games...so figured it was the FFlat mod. Could be wrong on that though.
