Fall Further 050 Bug Report Thread

This game CTD about every other turn. Can someone try it out and see if it crashes for them?

Scions
Turn 125
Standard size tectonics, 60% water.
Unique sites enabled (not all, just defautl)
Standard speed.
Elves and Malakim disabled.

Just got a CTD when a wraith ate a worker near one of my cities - Calabim, Huge tectonic map, all barb factions enabled, unique features at default. The wraith's been around for at least a hundred turns, and I've been getting periodic CTDs throughout the game.

Latest patches on FF and FfH. (H and y, respectively)

Ooh! That could be the cause of the instability actually! I don't think it bothers to check if your civ has a valid unit for worker types when you do a capture, and Animals & Demons don't have any unit for the worker unitclass!

Great find (I hope!)

EDIT: Might be a bit tricky to work around, but I could make it somewhat easy by giving them a UU replacement for workers which is a default unit for them, ie - Wolf or Skeleton). Will look into it tonight though, after submission of my project assessment and initiation of my spring break)
 
I don't post around here often, but I hope that won't stop me from being known as The Dude Who Saved Fall Further. :D
 
Damn, testing showed that just having Agares capture a worker alone doesn't cause an insta-crash. Still doesn't completely rule out the possibility though. I'll play with your save and see if anything jumps out to prod me in a better direction.
 
Huh. The crash that prompted me to post happened almost during the capture - the workers were halfway through the surrender animation when it crashed. I'm trying to remember what else I was doing that turn - I had been playing with civics, but I don't *think* I was in anarchy.

*edit* The capture took place in my territory, also. I haven't had a chance to load the game up since posting the autosave; I'm not sure if the save is on the turn the crash happened. The autosaves are four turns apart, though, so it can't be that far removed.
 
I reloaded my save, and two turns later the Wraith came up and ate the same worker... no crash, on the original one or the other one that I sent it's way. Bummer.
 
I can chop a forest tile which has smoke on it. It doesn't remove the forest or the smoke, but provides hammers (not 100% sure about the hammers).
 
The following turn of the attached save results in a WfoC. I can move map and even exit the game but the turn never ends.

Two barb galleys move into view so it's during or after the barb turn.

EDIT: The spinning globe cursor even keeps spinning in world builder so I can't try anything there. To bad, one of the most fun round in a while.

I think Thunder_Gr may have inadvertently found the source of the Master's Hall GP bug... He managed to duplicate the same bug with Merchant trait, with Gold rather than GP. Looks like it's a result of leaving <iGreatPeopleRateChange></iGreatPeopleRateChange> blank.

I thought the problem cde2006 mentions at the top of the page was introduced when I changed what had been there previously. But I just checked the 050 install file and that's the way it is there, too. Huh... I know it was different in game on my computer at some point. I'd guess I never transfered over something from my working copy to the SVN...? Anyway, I'll change it.
 
I have 4 screenies.

1. Event has two buttons that do the same thing (i.e. close the event window with no change)
2. Dhaunae the Illusionist (Great Bard) does not show any pic.
3. Error: No State Name Applicable (For Basium, I think)
4. Spaceships in Erebus?

Vexing, it crashed for me twice while checking out various tweaks, then utterly failed to crash on a third load when I hadn't yet changed anything functional in the code (just refined some tracking data output strings)
 
Did a full reload of FF and then patched to H.

Playing Scions, just as the pop-up showing that Archos had contacted me I got a CtD.

Should happen about 3 turns after the save.

Also, prior to this game I did the whole "Play Now!" thing to clear out any stuff I might have had left over from my previous Orbis mod games.
