Fall Further 050 Bug Report Thread

Golem Grafting:

When sacrificing units onto a flesh golem I presume that they are being 'grafted' to that unit. In essence they join the flesh golem, and cease to exist. The option to sacrifice units that have the immortal promotion does not exist (maybe for this reason), but the option to graft units that have the immortal ability via script does. So I could presumabely sacrifice an 'immortal' repeatedly to flesh golems each turn.

Trouble is.. I'm not sure which one of these is supposed to happen; That immortal promotion units should be capable of grafting, or that immortal scripted units are not supposed to be able to graft.

Help?

You shouldn't ever need to do the PLAY NOW option. I have it hardwired so that anything normally not visible just cannot ever be active as an option.

Evalis: Are you on the latest patch? Tarq had fixed that one up a while ago I thought. (should be no immortal can be grafted)

Apparently I was on patch G - Just downloaded Patch H, used the world editor to check. I can't graft anymore.. Sorry about that..

Uhh while I was at it though, I did discover that it's possible to graft summoned mistforms, floating eyes and frostlings

Did a full reload of FF and then patched to H.

Playing Scions, just as the pop-up showing that Archos had contacted me I got a CtD.

Should happen about 3 turns after the save.

Also, prior to this game I did the whole "Play Now!" thing to clear out any stuff I might have had left over from my previous Orbis mod games.

I had the same problems...

Seems there are issues with the lairs and Unique Features, which they're working on.

I recommend disabling Lairs and Unique Features in the options for now - since I did that I no longer have CTDs.

I think Thunder_Gr may have inadvertently found the source of the Master's Hall GP bug... He managed to duplicate the same bug with Merchant trait, with Gold rather than GP. Looks like it's a result of leaving <iGreatPeopleRateChange></iGreatPeopleRateChange> blank.

Thanks for the credits, but the only thing I did, was posting a screenshot... You were the one that identified the line/cause and figuered the proper solution :)

EDIT: Nevermind, fixed. However, the Master's Hall, for some reason, is giving me 4000000000GP points per turn o.O Not complaining or anything, but yea...

Gnosling ability to gain knowledge by defeating their enemies is bugged. It looks like it is capped at 1 xp right now. I changed a 100 to a 10000 in the postCombatGainKnowledge function (cvspellinterface) and the result is that it is capped at 100xp now which sounds a bit more reasonable.

That would be a bit of an oversight, and explain why some of the changeExperience() bits of code were failing for people a few days ago. That number is as you ascertained a cap for how high the unit's XP is allowed to go with the proposed change. I'm not sure if it was considered at all in the design, but I would venture that it was not. Thus the ideal would be a much larger number so that you never effectively hit a cap.

*sigh* Got up to about turn 200 playing as Cualli with nary a CTD (Lairs and UFs disabled, of course) but now it's going unstable on me again... CTDs every couple of turns , not always at the same place

Only thing I can see is that Hyborem recently joined the game - maybe it is something to do with the Demons again...

Do you have a save a turn before the crash?

I'm currently playing a multiplayer LAN game, and upgraded Korrina the Protector to Korrina the Black Lady. She didn't lose the shackled promotion, and I can build Shrine of the Champion. Eww. Save will follow shortly.

*N.B. - Just installed FfH and FF further today, on a new computer.

Did you have Knowledge of the Ether? Shackled is supposed to go away when you get KotEther, not when you upgrade.

I'd thought the Shrine was completely blocked for the Scions. I'll check...
EDIT: Ok, found the problem - it's blocked in the obvious place, but not the place it actually needs to be blocked.
EDIT#2!: Hmm... maybe I was right the first time. I can't reproduce the bug. Using the latest patch?

Oh! Yeah, I didn't have KotE. That makes sense....what I get for rushing Priesthood. Thanks for the info.

Do you have a save a turn before the crash?

I would have posted one, but I had several CTDs with a seemingly random factor - after a CTD I'd restart the game and it would run past the previous point for a turn or so, then the next CTD - again not reproducable.
The last CTD came with a 'memory allocation' error (tried to get a screenshot, but it didn't work for some reason), at which point I gave the game up in frustration.
Unfortunately, I overwrote the save (using quick save), so I can't post it any longer.

What I noticed though was that the instability started about the time Hyborem appeared. Looking at the power stats with F9 I noticed Hyborem had gone from nothing to most powerful player in one fell swoop - probably they were fighting on the other continent and he gained a lot of 'rebirths'.
The only thing I can think of is that there's some issues with Demons (saw speculations to that effect around here somewhere).

Trying my latest game with Compact Enforced - let's see if it remains stable w/o Hyborem.

After this turn instant CtD. Always.

Not here. Used a fresh install of FF/patch H.

I hate these hard to reproduce errors. Not that I know this makes a difference, but do you know what version of FfH2 were you at when you installed FF? I was at Y.
