Fall Further - The Original Thread

On the other hand, it does give them a second Spirit Affinity +1 so it's probably worth the effort...)

Nice!

I'm adding a Sirona related feature that allows the Elohim to gain "Spiritual" if visited

Satisfies a much-heard request! :)
I was imagining much more minor effects. But something that can actually alter subsequent game-play (emphasizing Disciple units in this case) is a cool idea.

How about that company of Chaos Marines event idea above for the Well? ;)

A couple ideas:
The Pyre, the Sepulcher, or another of the sites that involves a negative/offensive mana type grants a promotion to all Elohim units granting resistance to the corresponding damage type. Or, perhaps better yet, all civs get the promotion. The Elohim have weakened the mana's power the world over.

Or give special bonuses if the locations are hit in a particular order? (Can someone remind me what's that called? A pilgrimage around holy places (often local) in a specific order.)

(similar to how Letum Frigus grants "Aggressive" to the Illians)

Speaking of that, I had a problem with the event in my last game. After starting an advanced start Illians game, I cheated and gave myself a free Auric (I believe he comes for free in normal games, but you can never get him without cheating in an advanced start game), gave him a bunch of promotions, and added a bunck of Unique improvements (including Letum Frigus) nearby. I got the event when Auric entered Letum Frigus, and chose option 3. However, a mouseover of the flag did not show me as having gained any trait, and it looked like all my cities had began starving. A few seconds later (I think I had just clicked next turn, but I'm not sure), I had a CtD.

Just wondering if any of the Necron buildings from Dawn of War could be used for inspiration?

Good idea. I wonder if the actual models can be adapted...

Give the Energy Core 1 "spire" rather than four and it's not terribly far off from the Imperial Cenotaph.

Perhaps the Summoning Core as the Emperor's Mark?

The Gauss Turret, both Summoning Cores, and the Forbidden Archive look like they might work as-is or with minor tweaking.

I've been waiting on a couple of mods before playing DC but it's getting harder and harder to wait...

Dormant Monolith could be used for something also. Maybe as a building that gets replaced by the Forbidden Archive.

Another thing I have seen mentioned in reference but not specifically. Morrowind is nif based also. But not just Morrowind. They have thousands upon thousands of mods made for that game. Going through them could find some useful stuff also.

edit: off that necron link browse through the other races. Sisters of Battle have some interesting buldings and units also.

That just gave me a crazy idea. As you probably know, all death magic in Erebus comes not from Arawn or the underworld but from the Opalis Mortis, the Gem of Creation taken from the heart of Agares Infinite Plain of Death, which now rest embedded in the hand of Tuoni. What would you think of a unique feature/equipment/unit/event(quest) that gave you the option of destroying the gem (or giving it to Arawn, or something), which would destroy (or revert) all the world's death magic, kill and block the building of undead units, and make all civs unable to use the death sphere.

You could also have another option that would let you use the gem somehow, like turning it to a wonder that grants 100 death mana.

This would of course have to be extremely rare and difficult, and still would probably be unbalanced.

Instant death for the Scions lol.

Re: "Holy Warriors"

I think a good argument for not including HW is that it works so well as a module. Unless something in it really catches Vehem's fancy there's little advantage to including it - especially if Vehem develops the installer to the point where optional components are included.

I'll see about inserting in a Promotion used by the module, though. It'd only work if HW is installed - but having it in the main XML would help prevent problems. (So far I don't think it has actually caused a problem, but I don't know why.)

OTOH I *do* like EWS's Sohei quite a bit... :)

well I'm not really a fan of modmodmodmodmodmods ( :D ) , I think it would be much better if it was merged into FF, it makes sure that the module doesn't get updated or incompatible or whatslike. plus, I don't really see how anyone could not like the idea of having special religion units instead of just plain 'alignment' ... it makes much more sense imho. ;)

Aye - there is a bug with it in base FfH (and FF as of the current patch for that matter). Just a typo - I've reported it with the relevant line to be fixed in the bug thread.

Hey - when I first started Roleplaying it was with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and it was completely feasible within the lore at the time for Chaos Marines to appear in a Fantasy Setting... I even had a scenario-pack that included a Champion of Khorne with Hand Flamer and Digital Lasers :D

Maybe not for FfH though...

I quite like the resistance idea - but current thinking is to have an option to destroy the mana source in return for a reduction in the AC. The global reduction in the effectiveness of Death/Entropy though is certainly intriguing... There are quite a few potent effects so far (including a couple of other trait granting ones and a "Birthright Regained") so it'd be nice to keep the effects on par.

The basic sort of "dark temple" in which you might find a barbarian hero slaying evil priests.

ROFL you mean like Conan the Barbarian? but he cant at the moment, his jip is playing up and its time for his soup :p

A friend and I just recently downloaded Fall Further...installing both it and then patch B.

We installed it over a 0.33 FfH3 that was updated to patch C, which we believe ought to be correct.

However, as soon as we finish the first or second turn of any given game, it immediately goes irrepairably out of sync. Any idea what might be wrong, here?

Edit: As well, I'm curious if something we saw was intentional, or a bug - he started in a game next to the Tomb of Sucellus (spelling? o.o). However, the text was on the map in two different places. One was at the Tomb itself, another was a few squares off. Is it meant to be that way, to denote that it is nearby, or is this something strange and buggy?

Hi again
I have a rather odd problem, after finally getting ff to install and run, (which it does properly), I have no sound at all, either at the start up menu or in game. I checked the assets file for sound and everything is where it should be and nothing appears corrupted. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what the problem may be, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Tarquelne, i had a play around with those necron buildings today and produced this for an imperial cenotaph:

It was very simple to make and textures were just stolen from the necron building, but the dome/sphere and spire im not sure about. i first of all tried a golden dome, but it was far too garish and clashed horribly with the green windows, so i then tried this. if you have any suggestions before i upload it shout out now :p creative criticism aswell please :p

EDIT: and i recycled an old model i made originally as an elven cathedral, but i hated the testure, so i did a little texture butchering, and this is the result, any good? it was only a half hour job so its no biggie if you dont like it :p

edit: off that necron link browse through the other races. Sisters of Battle have some interesting buldings and units also.

yes the Dark Eldar buildings looks ripe for reaping (...did you see what I did there ;) ) too - although not as gothic in appearance, and they are maybe a little bright sitting alongside the darker Necron buildings

Also the Space Marine Sacred Artifact looks pillagable

Another minor thought, Vehem:

Barring ranged units (archers) from using weapon items, since these are all melee (Orthus' Axe, Netherblade, etc)?
Maybe provide archery weapons to counterbalance this? (remove a strength from Gilden, give him a bow with + 1 first strike & 1 str?)

@ Tarquelne - have you borrowed any buildings from WHFB or Dragonia II yet? Some of them should work well for your listing so far.

I've posted the Patch C changelist in the first post to gather some feedback. Fairly drastic changes in places along with a lot of new features. I'm going to tidy up the graphics/TXT_KEYs and release later on today with any last minute changes based on feedback included.
