What? You are sticking Beast Lords and Raiders together, that is just wrong ;) . Well good luck doing this. Oh something else why include Vault Dwellers? Beside that Vaults were spoof, Vault City, NCR and Brotherhood came out of them, there is no collective Vault civilization unless it represents Vault 10. And why do not include the Shin(sp?) - you know San Franciscan Chinese?

@ Gladii The civ that has the raiders and critters is there because of the barb limitations to two land units, and Fallout has way too many cool critters and raiders not to be represented.

Of those you listed, only Vault City cames from the vaults. The New California Republic sprang from the village of Shady Sands. The Brotherhood of Steel Came from a military unit that revolted when they found out that the scientists were using them in the F.E.V. experiments and wandered to the Lost Hills to set up the Brotherhood of Steel.
The Vault Dwellers Civ is to represent all the other Vaults that have not opened yet. If you listen to the beginnings of all three games you hear the narrator say " A vast network of Vaults."

The Shi were in the original list of civs, but got trimmed because they were minor players in the RPG's.

This is cool. You sure put a huge amount of effort it this. I salute you Thormm!

Fallout, especially #2 is probably my favorite game of all time. Nothing in any game I've ever played feels better than ripping apart a mutant with a burst from a 50 cal. And the atmosphere is so funky.

Are those terrain graphics the ones you are going to use? Hopefully not as the bright greens and yellows look really out of place in a post-apocalyptic mod.

I'm following this project with interest. The map seems to be again way too big for my taste, but that's just me.
 
@ Drift, no those are just placeholder gfx while Stainz makes some completely new terrain, and we agree with you that terrain is too cheery!:D


The map is only 114 x 134, so not even half the size of WOTW.:)

NCR originated from Shady Sands- which in turns came from Vault, I only played Fallout 2, but you get in there mission to remove squatters from Vault xx because NCR consider it their ancestral heritage.
Brotherhood- I do not know much about that ( for some unknown reason my F:T speaks pa-rusky:mischief: ) but I believed that there was one functioning Vault and that people of that Vault mixed with some merchants later on to form Brotherhood.

Anyway, how will you implement technological advances? You cannot make special tech tree for everybody, can you?

Gladi, actually yes we can make seperate tech trees for the radical civs, by making some of the techs require specific techs that are given only to say the Mutants or Ghouls. Then that tech is made none none. so unless you are given it you can't research it. Also it is non tradeable, meaning that the civs can not trade that tech.:)

Here is a current list of civs and their unique techs.

Vault Dwellers: Vault tec, which leads to Vault computer access, Machine Shop, and Virtual reality playroom.

SuperMutants: Mutant tech, Genetic Tailoring, and F.E.V. Virus. Possible almagamation with COTC. Under consideration.

The Children of Set: Scavenging, Barter, and data retrieval.

The Enclave: So far only Aerodynamics, and Deathclaw Engineering

NCR: NCR Rangers, Scavenging and Barter

New Reno Mobs: Golden Globes, Pharmacology, Jet Factory.

Critter civ: they will not be able to settle, just make nasty critters and conquer.

Brotherhood of Steel: Brotherhood Training, Military Stores Reclamation, Taped Datastorage.

Empire of the Circuit: Skynet, Artifical Intelligence, Electronics.


These are the civs so far. All suggestions for civs and techs for the civs is most heartily welcomed.

I did not meant few specific advances but whole trees. Are most techs shared or not?
To resources- diferate Geckos? Jet for everybody? These are just things that catched my sight first, of course you can have only so many resources. How many bonus/luxury/strategic resources you want to have?
