Fallout: The Rebirth of Civilization

So far so good. :)

Gee, that was real helpful. ;) I was looking for a wee bit more details on what you liked or did not like in your first play through. :D

:nuke: Cheers, Thorgrimm :nuke:

Huh? I was just in the CM forum, how did I miss this? Thanks Heretic_Cata! :D

Oooh, being sick on NewYear`s Eve might not turn out so bad after all, once I DL this baby!

EDIT: Only 101MB? .. its so.. small?

Did I mention this was a beta and not finished? ;) The DL would have been much larger if I had kept the music and Ambient sounds in the main DL. But I was thinking of all you folks who do not have a cable modem. :D

:nuke: Cheers, Thorgrimm :nuke:

It's finally out, but unfortunately, I don't have time to play it right now.... Too busy with other stuff. :(

Same deal with WH 2.5.....

Glad you got it more or less finished, Thor.

Wow, so many people with bad connections having trouble downloading. :(
I have a terrible connection too.

I recomend everyone to use FlashGet to download it. That way timing out won't make a difference.

I dunno, i'm not very good at describing gameplay, i had to wait for other people to tell me how the gameplay is like in my mod. :D

What could i not like about this one ? :mischief:

Well, you could maybe elaborate a bit? Was the music ok? what about the units sounds, or maybe the techs and buildings, ya know, stuff like that?;) :D

Cheers, Thorgrimm

Was the music ok?
Of course it was. It's Fallout music. :)
I'll have to take a look at those.
Sounds are ok IIRC.

So anyway, some questions:

1. This is probably because of the difficulty, but i should ask ...

The Reno mob and the BoS civs are just standing there doing nothing. They occasionally try to build settlers but they don't have enough population so they end up building wealth.

2. I'm quite confused about the start locations.

What's NCR doing way over on the coast ?
I think Vault City should change place with the Robots. Vault City was definetley way to the north east. And i remember the Robots being in the west.

1. All civs begin with two good units, enough workers to complete a road and irrigation in one turn, a Popup turret and a settler. Now what the AI decides to do with these units is quite amazing. I have seen them disband the popup turret to only replace it with a militia! And each game is different. I have seen the BOS and Mobs rule the valley, or get wiped out very fast. All depends on the random AI.

2. Playability my friend, if I put everybody in canon locations ALL civs except for the bots would be tripping over each other from the get go. The Bots are on the portion of the map where Nevada meets Utah, closer to NORAD.

Disbanding the Turret ? :crazyeye:
Well, this time, they kept the workers and stuff in the main city. Just kept them there untill he didn't have any money to pay for maintainance. Either that or they disbanded all of them.

Ah, ok then. :)

@Stormy, did you ever get it DLed? How about the ambient sounds did that DL ok?

:nuke: Cheers, Thorgrimm :nuke:

1.
ERROR

icon/units/powerarmorsmglarge.pcx missing.

2.It seems a bit odd to research genetic tailoring with some civs. :hmm:

3.At around 2195 about 5 deathclaws suddenly appear in all barb camps. How did you do that ?
This increases the end turn times to aprox 10 minutes. :(

4. Radscorpions atack animations are a bit to fast IMHO. Maybe they could be slowed down a little. I know scorpions strike fast, but wouldn't it look a bit better if the atacks would be a loop between these 2: a fast one, a slower one.IMHO
5. There are window leftovers from the Oil Tanker.

Thanks, I'll have a look... ;)

I had some DL problems as well for the sounds... Had to restart several times. Are you sure Thor that your connection is ok?

ps: I put my city screen in the PCX competition...

@Heretic,

1. Thanks, got it.

2. Yeah it is. Originally it was going to be required for the nutrient systhesis chain, you know new rad resistant food. But civ 3 does not let you carry over tech requirements from other eras.

3. Thats the howling wastelands fighting back.;) Sorry about the time reqs.
HINT: Combat Armor: Sniper is the perfect barb hunter.:D

@Flamand, It is usually very stable, but in the last day the dl has been hit almost 200 times. So that may be why it is a wee bit shaky.

If anybody does not vote for your entry we will send Sarge their way to 'convince them' of their errors.:D Or better yet ole Frank Horrigan, if he ever gets made.:crazyeye:

:nuke: Cheers, Thorgrimm :nuke:

@Heretic, I just checked my icons folder and the powerarmorsmglarge is there. Check your icons folder and let me know if it is there.

:nuke: Cheers, Thorgrimm :nuke:

I found the error - the file is there but it's named:
"PowerArmor SMGLarge"
And in the pediaicons it's:
"PowerArmorSMGLarge"
