Fallout: The Rebirth of Civilization

Ahh my download also skiped after about 50%...
I tried to download the music but it's really slow. (would have taken me about nearly two hours...)
I will try to dl it later again perhaps it will work better...

But before I start, is it playable on a random map or just the one you made? I suppose you would post it in the Scenarios forum if it was just your map, but then again, Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire should go there too, and it never got moved..

Lol, I got an email from my host saying you all nearly crashed the server with so many dl requests. :lol: So be patient, I think it is worth the wait to finish the dl. I also let DAC and NMA know about the mod, so it is getting hit pretty hard. I guess folks have been waiting for a long time for something new in the Fallout universe. :crazyeye:

EDIT: Stormy, no only with the scen, but Flamand and I were discussing the possibility to use it in random mode to.

That of course is your choice, but that is FAR down the path. Next up is Flamand's Star Trek mod.:D

Well, how big is the map?

ST will be a scenario to?

The Fallout map is 103 x 114. As for the ST mod, that you have to take up with Flamand.:)

So I tried it three more times... Nu success ... dl was broken after 53,28 and 79 MB.... I will not try to dl the music again cause I fear there will be even more failed dls....
How can it happen that a dl fails? I never had the problem before (even with much bigger mods...)

Samez, only thing I can think of is the number of dl requests. Since it is on the very same ftp as my WOTW mod and IIRC nobody had any problems dling that one, which is bigger than the Fallout mod.

Ya know Stormy, ya might want to read the forum descriptions just a wee bit better, ;) this is for mods that CHANGE the basic game, it does not mention as to whether it can have a pre-made scen or not. As far as I cen tell, the Fallout mod COMPLETELY changes the basic game. So it is in the right forum. :D

Scenarios are like the Conquests scenarios.
This is a complete makeover of the game who just so happens to take place on a specific map.
 
Can have or must have are 2 very different things.. If it must be played on one map, over and over and over again*, its a scenario..

But I guess you are right. Its totally different cos the basic game is completely random, and this isn`t ;)

*and when you see all the resources and cities placed once, every other time you play it feels like you are that stupid guy who has to know all that stuff right from the beginning.. what was his name.. AI, was it?

Then please enlighten me how you can make a map with Vadus' space terrain thatis randomly generated...? Untilthatexists I'm afraid a fixed map is all you can make...
 
Yes I know that a fixed map is the final solution for all space mods. But if you can`t play it on a random map, like a normal game of civ, its a scenario, just like Rise of Rome. Sure, it has more changes and more custom art, but its still a scenario.
 
Do any of the other mod makers out there know what is needed to change the font in c3c? before I patched to ver 1.22 all I needed to do was replace the LSANS TT font file, now that does not work.

Seeing the names of the cities, i might be able to come up with some city names for the civs that have to few. But i'll do that some other time ...

2. Why does the unit have Vault 15 ? IIRC Vault 15 was the one a bit to the west of Shady Sands.

3. Wouldn't you say that my tribals here (5th row from down) look better than yours ? :mischief:
I mean you have gay tribes all over the wastes, no wonder they're being used as slaves. :lol: It's time to teach them the old ways. :p




This will probably be my last feedback. I have exams comming and of course i don't know squat. It'll be over in about a month. I hope i'll get a new comp by then. If i do, i probably won't be playing civ tho. :p So i'll probably not play this mod till it's done. :sad: But i might help a bit with some stuff in a month or so ...

1.What can I say, Fallout is tongue in cheek, so gotta have some of that in there to.;) Why tease me with help with names and then say maybe later? :D

2. Yup, Vault 15 was the one you rescued from the raiders and gave to the civvies. As for the unit it is Flamescreen's excellent unit.

3. My tribals are warrior tribals, the male members of your tribals look , well, nice and meek with the ole ball and chain tagging along. Good slave material. ;) :D But yes you did a good job on them.
