Fantasy NES: Sekai

To Human Slaughter: How large is a battalion? Should we make up some stuff? A Regiment is 30. Battalion 100?

Ninja, just move your troops to the border and leave them there until I return. During the time I am gone (until Sunday), skirmishes will happen outside the border. I will report on these when I return. Move your troops at the speeds they have stats for, of course, but all troops will move unhindered until they get to the border.

human-slaughter, no time right now for a reply. I'll write one on Sunday or Monday.

This will be my last post here until Sunday.

Good, just as I thought. I'm guessing the same applies for Charles?

@ Charles Li: Umm, I'm sure it is different in Sekai then it was in RL so its up to the Army in the City-state to decide how much they wish to send.

I can't seem to find where the nation stats are located. Could someone point those out to me please?

For story purposes are we allowed to call the spells different names/say they do something different as long as the modifier stays the same?

For example, instead of my character knowing "Fireball (+1 damage)" could I say my character knows "Flaming Sword (+1 damage)"

@kkmo: If the dark elves were planning to cast a spell of teleportation or area incineration, just make sure my characters (specifically Ichthys) get XP for listening to the magic. :p Oh, and Ichthys was a dark elf (undead are dead elves and humans, right?), so unless the horns were a recent addition to the dark elf anatomy, he shouldn't be surprised.

... (somewhat random) If the new DND books have taught me anything, it's that I'm a power-player and an elf.

Hi everyone. Sorry I'm late.

I am still on "vacation", actually. I am posting this to all tell you some very bad news. I will not go into details, but basically I am experiencing a large amount of family-oriented problems that are kind of bogging me down at the moment. Sorry to get all mushy.

Sekai will thus have to be put on hold for a good deal of time, and may even die. I know this disappoints many people, but I thought I would post and let you all know my status, rather than just disappearing and not updating Sekai. I had so much fun being the game master for Sekai for those of you that played in the NES. It was my first, and last, NES to mod, and I am proud of that. I know we didn't get too far in terms of time, but if you'll look, the sheer amount of stories we were able to post and keep up with in such a short period of time is nothing short of amazing, and that was all thanks to you players, all of you whom were creative and fun to play with. There was absolutely no fighting between players OOC or anything like that, and we had a grand fun time, I'd say.

I have noticed a ton of Fantasy NESes popping up here! That is excellent, and I hope that somehow my NES contributed to NESing in general on this forum when it comes to the fantasy genre.

I will be back, though, mark my words. I just really need some time with my family right now, and not obligated to visit Civfanatics every day, in order to keep my sanity.

And, whew, how about I reply to some of this stuff just for kicks. I do keep stats, Charles! :D Flyingchicken, Amaliad's horns are especially ornate. Strategos, yes, that is fine. :p

Hmmmm, so basically, Glotrith wins the war with the help of Dwarves, Xalas was going to escape, the dragon was to become an undead beast, not a skeleton dragon, but a spirit dragon of sorts, and it was going to terrorize a lot of people, but then also escape. The large kingdoms outside of Sekai were going to stir up some trouble because Xalas fled there. The portal to the underworld near Malthen was going to cause some trouble as well, and it was indeed a portal to a "hell" type place, pretty serious stuff. Amaliad was going to find an organized lizardmen nation, they may or may not have become a new playable race, but basically, that NPC nation would've gone on a conquest of some of the areas around it. The large navy being constructed by the Orcs was going to battle Venetia's and it was to be discovered a god was indeed still living in the sea, and was preparing something sinister.

That's all I'm telling you all, and all of what I just told was fairly obvious anyway. :D I don't want to spoil too much, in case we can pick this up, or maybe I just want you guys to guess for yourselves what would have happened. That is probably more fun. I seriously had pages upon pages on my lap top of notes for this game. I put in a ton of effort for this NES. I am very sad I cannot see it through further lengths. I had all kinds of stories planned. I think maybe in the future, when I get better at writing, I might try my hand at writing something fantasy or sci-fi based.

I wish you all the best, and I had a lot of fun in my short-lived time here. I will return.

Perhaps a spoiler warning is in need.

When you return, I'll be eager to resume Goldshield's Reign!

A darn shame if this does die, as I have come up with some nice plans for the future. Ah well, it has been fun.

Hello everyone. Just posting to say hello. Hope you all are doing well.

Come back!!!!!

Guess you did return, then. :p
