The games I play both on consoles and the computer are few, but played endlessly and endlessly ad nauseum.

While I disagree with you on the whole existence of God thing... I too am looking forward to the vaporware that is Fallout III.

Yes! Yes! One of my favorites. You're right, they don't make them like they used to. The ability to customize an army, something like 100 different character classes and creatures to recruit, alternative routes to success, tons of secret characters (some of which are interdependent or horrors, mutually exclusive), 21 different endings! Now that's what I call a worthy game.

On topic:
Currently playing (when I have the time) Emperor, Rise of the Middle Kingdom. A city building game. It's like Sim City, only set in ancient China, and with war (of a limited sort). From the same company that did Caesar, Pharaoh and Zeus.

Emperor: RotMK, Ceasar 3, Rome: Total War (though I haven't played it in a while), Roller Coaster Tycoon (Old one doesn't work on my new computer. Damn Windows XP!), Pharaoh, SimAnt (Eleven years old, and still awesome!), Total Annihilation, and Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3D if you mean PC games. Other Video games from consoles, (The best of each genre.)

Shooting: Metroid Prime (GC)
Adventure: Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64). I actually cried when I played this game! Like a really awesome book or movie.
Best flying-shooting game- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II (GC)
Best Multiplayer: Super Bomberman 2 (SNES)
Best Fighting: Tie between Soul Calibur 2 (GC/XB/PS2) and Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC).
Best Strategy: Pikmin (GC)
Best Sports: NBA Street V2 (GC/XB/PS2)
Best RPG: Tie between Dragon Warrior III (NES/SNES/GBC) Pokemon (GB). I know the new Pokemon ones are overrated, and suck, but when this came out, it was extremely different from all of those other FF rip-offs. It's childish and stupid now, but it was once awesome and different.

When my PC decided to work, I play call of duty+expansion a lot, as well as Silent Hunter II. Hearts of Iron II is good as well.

Other than Civ? Morrowind!
I also enjoy Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. It's such a bug ridden game, yet I love it! All the reviews on it say its bad, but I can't stop playing it. I can't describe the satisfaction of seeing Indy beating up all the bad guys, whether through punching, kicking, whacking with a shovel, or whipping! It's especially funny when you do the right combo and BAM! slam a big poacher or nazi in the balls with a table leg.
