If i could suggest something for the luchuirp, for the cavalry line, maybe mechas could be used, with dwarves riding around inside...

To be honest, I'm not really sure that the Luchuirp need more stuff just now, they already have a ton of special units, and some other Civs could use the love a bit more (Doviello, Grigori, Hippus, Kurios etc.)

That said, the visual idea of tiny dwarven pilots in great stompy golem mechas is great, if a little too futurey for this mod :goodjob:

Oh, and by the way, much respect to Sezreth for his gorgeous new Sphener model, as an Order junkie I look forward to using him a lot :) My only small criticism is that sometimes his shield seems to go through his wing. Of course, that's something Blizzard couldn't get right on their Griffons in WoW, so no biggie ;)

it's just i don't really like the idea of feilding armies of golems, and suddenly having real cavalry... i just don't think it fits.

though i agree other civs need more stuff before them.

I think the Elohim need some new units, played my first ever game with them yesterday playing a disciple army game. It would be nice to see some of their units a bit more flavoursome. Also, why don't they have spiritual? Didn't they used to have three traits anyway? Why was it removed?

I`ll hurry with the Clockwork golem ;)

Yeah, I left Elohim out of my above comment because (unlike Kurios and Grigs) they have their own Warrior. Upon further examination, the only other things Elohim have that are unique to them are a Swordsman model, the Devout and the Monk (and Corlindale, natch). Heck, since patch 'f', Kurios have more unique stuf than them

Edit: Doh, Elohim don't even have a swordsman model lol, was thinking of the Kurio one :D

A cool unique unit for the elohim would be a monk version of a paladin. There strength is definately in disciple units so why not give them a decent unique one. So far I have found the monks pretty useless as them because my paramanders and later on crusaders, which are equivalent to monks, were simply better.

Any updates to your amazing Sidar models coming up C. Roland? An immortal or archmage mayhap? *crosses fingers* *wink* *wink*

Next version will have more Sidar units, but no archmages or immortal because I begin with lower tiers units :p

And by the way, nobody have said that they will be amazing :D

I'll try to post some pictures soon, but I'm really busy those days (the units are made, but Kael is still waiting for me to upload !)

May I suggest using transparency in Sidar's models? LOTS of transparency :)

The more they advance, the more they are transparent. Swordsman isn't transparent, champion is a bit transparent and Imortal/Phalanx are almost fully transparent;)

I fully toss my hat into the bin for luichirp Riding Golems.

These are the guys whose cities have levitating platforms as a form of public transit after all..

Question, are there base skeletons that can be imported into Blender for the purposes of rigging meshes to them to use the kfs that come with civ?

I think some came in a 3ds max format.. possibly blender as well? Maybe you could import a unit and just replace the mesh with yours? I'm sure SeZ would have a blender skeleton in any case.

if you anna do your on animations, start with firaxis example files for 3dsmax and the pretorian rig.
otherwise you can easily import any nif into blender and max. then exchange the meshes, rig it, export it and clean it up with nifskope.
cheers.

I am almost done with the luchuirp Clockwork golem :)
and i will do some more dwarves (engineer, etc.) I think i got a way to make them easily work.

picture of the clock golem please. I'm imagining this The Iron Giant/ratchet thing of pipes and gears.

Got link to the version of the nif import script you guys are using for blender? I havent dinked with this stuff since Oblivion came out and I did work there.
