Well, I sent my concept, but getting details for it is so conflicting... Magic Tradition AND a business, what to choose, what to choose...

Ken: What exactly do I need to add to my submission to make it fit the format? Just the organization type? It would be helpful to know what the techniques do as well as the specializations do. What exactly is "Ceremony" or "Rhetoric"? The game seems to have specific rules about such things, so I don't want to just guess based on names...

Also, when the Business says "Key Ability: Highest Score" that means that whatever our highest score is the key ability? So if my highest score is in Magic, I can have my Business's Key Ability as Magic?

if you've already sent me a concept, send me the org type u r choosing. I want you to choose based on the concept. the game is balanced. so don't worry about that aspect of the rules yet. specialties just mean that certain types of orgs progress faster in certain areas of the innovation tree, it does not deny you the ability to research any tree. instead of assigning them i decided to loosen things up a little and give the players more choice. each path to power is equally valid. your question about the key ability is yes. business does not have a specific ability score, so whatever it wants to focus on most is most likely what their going to be trying to sell. now, as to choose which type you want to be since you've already shared that you want to be a magical org and a business org you have to decide which is your primary focus. do you want to be magic tradition that sells stuff or a business that specializes in magic items. innovations won't be going up untiil the deadline for submissions. tho i guess i should give a blurb on what each inno tree is going to be about. so check that section again in a min

Also, I'm seeing things like "21 players = FFH's 21 nations" but we don't HAVE to stick to them, right?

seems like there's a little confusion going around. let's clear that up. anyone can take part in this nes. if we get 21 players or less, everyone is in. if we get more submissions, then it is a contest and the spots go to the people who have put the most effort into their submissions. once the final player list is posted then we will reveal the maps for those players to choose their starting locations. my goal is to have the updates posted every sunday, with orders being submitted thursdays. all 21 nations will be in this nes. not all 21 will be available as starting location, but most will. as orgs grow in scale more of the map will be revealed and more of it will be able to be used. we're only starting with a small section of the map, about a 10x10 area or maybe a little bigger. as orgs get bigger the maps will be revealed. also after the players are chosen, player handouts will be distributed to give the players background on the history of each of the maps.

bad news everybody. due to real life rearing its ugly head killerclowns will be unable to participate as a moderator in The Expanse. as of now the west expanse is shelved and we're down to only 14 available spots.
