FfH2 0.22 Bug Thread

And I should get commonly asked questions into the FAQ (tower bonus requirements, animal bonueses, and artists/sages making some religious wonders would probably be good to have there).


(Bolding by me): I would also recommend a mention in the Civopedia entry of the religious wonder. For instance, with my Stigmata of the Unborn problem I looked there, and it wasn't mentioned that it's built by a Great Sage.

BUG:

I have Paladin units that I've finally gotten up to Combat 5 but there is no option to give them Blitz (at their next promotion). I have Celerity and have melee units with Blitz but the Paladins are a no go (possibly all disciple units).

Am I missing something?
 
I think I can understand why a unit (usually mounted like a Horseman) that withdraws from battle still gains XP. But, why, then, doesn't the defending unit also receive XP? It has been in a battle and should have gained some experience, right?;)

Also, one of my favorite topics: The Trojan Horse.

I sent it out with a few units inside towards an AI civ that was giving me problems. Well, on the way it was ambushed and killed by a Giant Spider of all things. All hands were lost. :mad:

This was only about mid-game (Epic) and I don't know how buffed up that Spider was, but maybe that 'hero' unit Trojan Horse needs a bit more strength.
These aren't bugs but balance suggestions. In that light, I agree with your first point, but disagree with your second.
 
Patches in the same place as you installed FfH - the default is fine if Civ 4 is in the default location. The no interface thing is usually fixed by clearing your custom assets.
 
After the end of a turn, I keep crashing to desktop. I was playing with patch d. I patched to h and the problem continues. I cannot get past this turn because of this problem.

I wanted to attach save files, but they are 600k each.

I tried again with HidePythonExceptions = 0 and I did not see any error messages. Maybe I don't know what I am looking for.
 
I have no buttons when i play. and in what folder do i install the new patches?

Do you have your Civ patched to 1.61? That is usually the case.
 
Is it intended that you can't build the Ride of Nine Kings if you have nightmares? Given that horses are interchangeable with nightmares for everything else, it seems a bit odd.
 
Pardon me for not have read through the previous 450 posts, so this may already have been pointed out. At times, the units in a city that are normally displayed at the bottom left do not appear. A restart brings them back with no ill effects.

And this may not be a bug, but I think it is worth mentioning: Transporting animals whose nationality has not been declared seems to attract attackers. Though theoretically this make sense, it does not seem right that they should attack the animals without also breaking the peace with the one transporting them. Declaring nationality prevents this, but it just does not seem natural.

A similar phenomenon is that a Wolf Pack will occasionally spawn a Wolf while on board and as long the unit is simply moved, it will carry the extra cargo. But after the units are displayed, for instance to declare its nationality, the extra one is stranded in the ocean.
 
Could anyone assist me please? After ending a longer FfH.21 game I switched over to .22 patch g. No picture show at the beginning, no music during the game, no pictures from the leader, many icons for tech are missing, several larger red dots in the landsacape, some moving, some not, Malakim changed colors from yellow to lilac, no menues - how to handle it? Suddenly at the end of the turn the desktop. Thank you in advance.

I use them and once in a rare while I cannot see all the units in a tile regardless of the configuration I select. This goes beyond the city into the field. I first noticed this with wounded rangers and their captured animals. I couldn't declare nationality on recent animal captures unless I saved and then exited to desktop and reloaded the save. Similar things happened to me in vannila Civ. Yet in both vannila and FfH this was rare.
 
Not a bug really but I can't find a cosmetic thread: Conquest description in pedia does not say anything about extra gold you get when you capture a city. I think many new players dont know that and find a civic underpowered

Did you download the entire 0.22 file (200 and something mb) or did you just apply the 0.22g patch to your 0.21 files? Unfortunately, you will need to download the main, large file and then apply the appropriate patch, as the differences between 0.21 and 0.22 are not completely covered by the small patches. Which gives me an idea:

Tangent - I do love ffh but I'd really love to see a moderately sized patch that can upgrade between versions to cut down how long I have to wait before I can play (typically takes 2.5hr to download a new version, and I'm sure there are people who have it much worse). It wouldn't be that hard for the community to do - just find the files that have changed and copy them into the appropriate place. Any new art would have to be repacked, but that's not too difficult with the right instructions, and then all that's left is to make sure any excess files are deleted. I may even try this with the next version, just to see if I can make it work...

The bulk of the files tend to change between versions; that's why no larger patches are released, since they'd be nearly as large as the full download and would add to the confusion about what things to get to play the game.
