FfH2 0.31 Bug Thread

Are you sure? I've never seen it not give the mage guilds. Well, so long as I was the one to build it and was playng as a civ that has mage guilds. I believe the free mage guilds go to the player who built it, not the one who currently owns it.

Also, mage guilds are not immediately removed from production when you get a free one. That will take a turn or so. You shouldn't pay attention to the builds so much as to what buildings the city actually has (check the city screen). You can go ahead and change the build order if you have it already, which will save you a turn of production on whatever you plan to choose next.

I had this happen to me once and reported it as a bug several versions back.

I took over a city as the Mercurians when the Gate was built. The city had the Catacombs in it, but when I created new Mercurian cities, none had a Mage Guild. I had to build it again.
 
had the barbs building a city on the broken sepulcher which made the sepulcher (and the free death mana) disappear. there was only a raw mana node under the city and i would have need to raze the city in order to get access to the mana
 
Playing as Perpentach, I went to at least turn 320 on normal speed. Never had him go crazy and change traits. Stuck at Arcane Charismatic the whole time.

Not that I *really* minded, but figured it's a bug and therefore to report it.

Well the sepulcher and death mana are supposed to disappear and become raw mana.... Not until Barbatos is defeated though...
 
It is completely random, it could happen on turn 400. I could see how it could end up with one game where he does not change traits.

I've played him a few times and always had him change traits at least once.

Well the sepulcher and death mana are supposed to disappear and become raw mana.... Not until Barbatos is defeated though..

There's also the fact that you are not supposed to be able to build cities on raw mana, so somehow the barbarians broke that rule.

You can still obtain the Public Healers civic without the necessary prereq tech through Overcouncil voting. Will this exploit remain? I did not see it listed under Known Issues.
 
really? always thought it is like all the other terrain features that gives you the resource if you build a road on it...

It is used to be like that, but it seems with the latest patch the sepulcher is destroyed and the death mana reverts to raw mana upon entereing any cultural borders...

I actually prefer it this way, it means you could build a death mana there if you wanted but you could also avoid the negative diplomacy modifiers...

IIRC that was one of the benefits of the Overcouncil (with the negative being dragged into wars you didn't want :lol:). Could be wrong though.
 
someone said on another thread that he was in Las Vegas seeing the Cirque De Soliel thing. As for his forum title, maybe a joke put on him by one of the mods?
 
Not exactly a 'bug', but does it worry anybody that Kael hasn't posted for a week and his forum title is

yea well, I would like the bugs I submitted already to be checked out asap because for me, the crashes with the infernals is a game breaking bug since it's preventing me from playing as hyborem properly.

I honestly don't know where to start looking for any possible causes and the fact that I can have the hyborem in the game but not playing as them and have no crashes is certainly indicating something.

It's way too specific if it's a hardware problem, and I wish I knew of other ways to try to find out what is going on.
 
When/how are the crashes happening? After you build a certain thing? When you fight? When you build a city?

Also, are you reloading the game after you switch to Hyborem? Switching Civilizations causes some small glitches, primarily it resets all game options internally, but doesn't reflect this fact in the options screen. If you log out and back in then it clears it up though. It might be that your computer doesn't deal well with the default settings.

To be honest with you, I'm not even sure because it crashes while in the process of going through the turn. In the custom game one, I simply did nothing because I was trying to make it a controlled situation and I crashed anyways.

My comp is pretty good and if you mean default graphics settings, I have them on max essentially.

As for the first save, I was basically biding my time, so I wasn't fighting and AFAIK nothing got built or completed researching at that time of the crash. I also have the sound off, so maybe I should have it on because I've read others having some strange sound (or otherwise would be unusual) right before the crash, so that could be a clue.

It's just that it's frustrating to not know what is going on or how exactly to pin it down as there are so many factors.

Also, I'm not reloading the game or restarting my comp after switching to hyborem, although I did do a savegame, but that doesn't stop it from crashing.

I tried a game where I did get hyborem out but didn't switch and did not crash so.... no idea.

edit: I didn't get any odd sound with one of the saves, but I'll try another.

edit: hmm, I wonder if doing the exit game and reload because I tried that and the wait at end of turn didn't change (I didn't change it before the save), so maybe there's something going on there? have yet to see if a crash happens as I just reloaded it.

EDIT: crashed two turns later :P I wonder if it has something to do with the spread of hell terrain.

make a back up of the ancient file (rename it with .old) and try this one .

yea I'll check it out, only prob though when I try clicking the link, it comes up as not a valid attatchment. Something with the forum I guess.

edit: I think I got it by doing save target as.

edit: just what am I replacing? I mean what is the file that I need to make a backup of.
