There is no longer a Summoner unit, or a conjurer unit for that matter. The division between summoning and sorcery has been removed. Archmages now have access to both sorcery and summing type spells. Most top level spells are actually summons now.

Conjurer UUs (Illusionists and Puppeteers) are now Mage UUs, and the Summoner UU (Eaters of Dreams) is an Archmage UUs

a few heroes are also summoners. As I found out last night when I was using a nightwatch (I thought I had made an assasin but didn't notice it was a nightwatch until I saw the combat message) to go explore around my vassal, I passed near Gibbon Goeta (I don't remember exactly, but he belonged to my vassal) who promptly let loose an air elemental and a lightning elemental which caught me by surprise since I didn't realize it was a nightwatch. Which has hidden nationality.

All national limits were raised to 4, since there are fewer national units now (no more summoners, Inquisitors, etc)

I maintain, shouldn't there be some scaling as to map size for national units? The amount that they dominate the game increases as the map gets smaller as there are less units in general, and you're more likely to build a big nasty national unit than say, an Arquebus. On huge maps, the problem is reversed, the pitiful few national units get swallowed up in the sea of tier 3 and the like.

If Kuriotite number of real supercities can be scaled to map size, I don't see why national units can't/shouldn't be.

Oh yea, .31 has been available for awhile now, hasn't it... :embarrased:

Just playing as the Svartalfar and it seems to work fine for me there.

Have the councils been nerfed? I have the Nox Noctis and am member of the Undercouncil yet no vote came up in about 40+ turns. ???

I believe it's 2 civs rather than 4; so if you have just one more leader in the UC with you, elections will trigger.

Okay, not idea if this is supposed to happen or not, but a few turns after someone makes hyborem pop up I go to make a few cavalry units and all the cavalry buttons are greyed out and it says I need nightmares now. I'm a good civilisation so even if I take a nightmare resource it changes back to horses after a few turns. I'm totally unable to build cavalry now. For the record, I have several horse resources all set up and linked to my capital, the place I was trying to build the units. I had the buildings required as well. I went over the square and the route with a worker, everythings in place so it isn't down to broken roads or a pasture getting destroyed.

As cheesy as it is to quote myself, I didn't see a reply and I'd like to know if this is a bug or if its working as intended?

Check your City Detail screen to ensure there is a horse icon.

Did you tradeall but 1 horse, then lose a source? Check your active trades.

Otherwise, post a save file and I'll glance at it

@Mighty M: Actually lacking the building means they can build the unit in every city, the building ceases to be needed

Sounds like a bug. With the volume of posts, the team can't answer every report or they wouldn't have time to fix the problems. You can rest assured they haven't seen your comments. Upload a save if you think that will help. :)

EDIT: What xienwolf said. :p He knows his stuff.

Playing at patch "d"
floodplains reverting to obsiadian plains is still bugged, the obsiadian plains disapear, even if hard coded back.

The Ride of Nine Kings could have a horse OR nightmare requirement

Ah, my fault for not checking. MC is right, they are set as a Building Requirement and not a Building Class requirement. Thus the Svartalfar are indeed quite incapable of creating the Crossbowmen :(

The easy fix is to change the prerequisite to bowyer (the same as flurry has I believe).

This CTD might be map-specific (have yet to check), but when I play with the barbarian world option I sometimes hear the "you got gold" goody-hut jingle sound during map generation. The crash immediately follows. Since I usually play with Smartmap, this is the only time I've experienced it, although consistently with Smartmap.

I really advise to not allow slaves to buy slaves. This is simply the open door to mass buying.

nothing wrong with it as long as you got gold. But I would agree that they are too cheep. Maybe 100 gold per slave...

Units with the 'immune to disease' promotion are very much not immune to disease. This has been true for a while, as far as I can tell.
