FfH2 0.33 Bug Thread

CTD: Go to the Occupied Orc city of Naga's Tail south of the elven empire. See that Orc Adept north of the City, attack him with one of the Longbowman on the right and see what you get. (other units dont seem to cause the CTD just the longbowman, I wonder if it has something to do the First strike... (and yes I have Vista)

Is it just me or doesn't the combat log work in 0.33a?

Combat log was disabled because it was costing a lot of utilization (and not many people used it). If you want to enable it you can change it in the PythonCallbackDefines.xml file.
 
I am unsure if this is true, but so far none of the -X from Armageddon Counter events has actually subtracted anything from the Armageddon counter. Playing as wither Bannor or Malakim.

This was the case in 0.32 as well. Just forgot to mention it, lol!

Anyways, Kael, this needs a change. Thanks for all your work :)

Thanks Avahz, this is an issue with the Shaman model. It will be fixed in patch "b".
 
Here is a screen shot and save game for that visibility issue someone mentioned. In this case I have units in a city that aren't visible, though I could select them by entering the city screen and selecting them from there.

Amazing Dark magic is going on in my games. When I capture goblin (barbarians) workers they are transformed into Elven workers :)

This is due to how the Unit Conversion is accomplished and how Racial promotions are applied. In unit conversion it creates a completely new unit, then starts to copy traits over from the old unit before deleting the old Unit. Early in the ::convert function it should probably remove all isRace promotions from the newly created unit so that the race of the original unit is applied instead. Or late in the ::convert function (when GameTurnCreated is being transfered probably) it should force a change of Race using setRace(pUnit->getRace())

Doing this function might require that first you run a setHasPromotion(getRace(), false).
 
No crash for me. It seems the adept cast haste. I've tried also to graphic options to max, still no crash. Are you running Vista ?

No, I'm running XP. I just updated my graphics card driver too. But after reading your post, I tried changing the Graphics Level from high to low and sure enough, the game did not crash. So I guess this is not a bug, but some kind of conflict with my aging graphics card. Oh well, at least I have a workaround. Thank you for your reply, it put me on the right track.
 
That's due to the Classical start, probably. Still a bug, but evidently the 'free unit on start' code treats heroes like regular units.

edit: whoops, missed a page. This is referring to the 3 Gildens screenie.
 
Here is what I found.

Bug #1:
After running smoothly for 460 turns, the game always crashes at the same moment. I am attaching the save.
The crash seems to occur near my city of Dormir, when an Adept belonging to Jonas Endain tries to cast some kind of spell.
I just applied patch a but the problems above still occur.

Besides that, let me add that this is a truly fantastic mod. You guys can be really proud. :goodjob:


I wonder if this is related to the CtD I had that was because of the adept model? (see patch b)
 
Playing with patch a: Shrine of Sirona is not allowing wounded units the "sirona's touch" spell. Playing with a neutral Amelanchier, for what it's worth.
 
Sailors Dirge spawned on turn 3 and killed the ljosalfar on turn 2 with one skeleton (checked world builder).

also the txt_key for the sailors dirge event is missing.

EDIT: the Guardian of the pristine pass spawning mobile gargoils is FAR too deadly, especially in the early game. i suggest making a new 'Guardian' Unit which is either immobile, or can only move x squares away from the 'Guardian of the pristine pass'.

EDIT 2: had the volcanic event 2 turns in a row, each time no volcano feature replaced the peaks. the volcano event could have some very flavourful follow on events as well...

That's funny, the EXACT same thing happened in my first game. Welcome back Sailor's Dirge!:)

The elves are notorious for sending out their two Scouts exploring and leaving their capital city unguarded. If playing on a slow game speed like Epic, it will be many turns before that first elven Warrior appears to defend. The Sailor's Dirge, barbs spawned on lairs, etc. might necessitate an AI change for them.

I love it when the elves are placed near me as I always beeline for their capital to take them out of the game...and have a chance to found LOL. :D
 
Combat Odds are not appearing when a HN unit tries to attack a unit from a civ with the Barbarian trait. I don't think this is right. :confused:

Specifically, I have HN Stooges, Giant Spiders and a Griffon (first time I captured one of those!) and the Combat Odds do not appear when I right-click the mouse ready to attack one of Charadon or Jonas Endain's units.

It is OK for when I try to attack any other civ or barbarians.
 
Is it intentional that as the Amurites I was able to resurrect Govannon(who hadn't even died yet) 12 times using a graveyard and Life 3 Archmage?
 
Nope, resurrection + graveyard was supposed to give a champion. Probably got broken when they added the spell delay to it, after my thread about chain-resurrecting exploits ;)
 
What do i need to open the file? my computer got major bugged and had to reset from a save from a year ago (188 viruses and 2500+ cookies was the cause)
 
Minor thing- Certain Units (mostly animals that walk on four legs, like the bear) when shown at the bottum left corner of the screen cover up the "turns to heal" message.

Also, playing as the Elohim I couldn't find the Argamomnon Counter on the screen.

Uh, it should just be an executable. If it's showing up as just 'File' with no extension, try renaming it and adding .exe to the end.

188 viruses? :eek: Get some antivirus software and a firewall, man! There are a couple of decent free ones out there (Avast! is the first free one that comes to mind), though often commercial programs are better. I use Kaspersky myself, though Norton and McAfee work well too. Also, if you suspect a virus, try checking your Process List in the Task Manager. If you see something that seems odd, google the process name and see what comes up.
 
Virus #1 killed my anti-virus software (norton) my sister downloaded a pony game, (stupid %*#!ing Trojan Ponys) and it killed my internet
EDIT1 my parent control the (only) comp even though they know very little about computers
EDIT2 THNX for the renaming info it lives!!! now, to get a case of sodas :coffee:
EDIT3 GAH!!!! i can't get the game to work, i do all the settings and then i get it to start and when it finishes loading it exits out (and im using XP):help::wallbash::badcomp::suicide:
