FfH2 0.34 Bug Thread

Any issues are still quite welcome in that thread, but more important than a save is that you provide the OOS Log files from each player who was in the game. Those are what will allow for actually solving the issues the best (saves of a multiplayer game are nearly useless because you need to find multiple players to load it, and all of the normal debugging utilities are blocked anyway)

Have had this happen multiple times,

You get the dungeon event with the cage, and you need to bring units to unlock them. If another civ's borders push over the cage, the guys get moved outside of the borders, and then cannot be unlocked or moved at all.

Second issue, I had Loki get trapped in the cage. I went to release the whole party, but Loki remained stuck even after the rest were saved.

Yeah, echo what Giddion says. High priests should be able to move blizzards just like the not-so-high priests.

I have not directly a "Bug" but on Armageddon Counter 30 there comes an "Event" what have no good description at all.
The Bareness (in german Dürre), has a nivce text but no one says, that it technically raise the "illness" in cirys

My primary city lost 16 Population size, before it start to rgenerate and grow anew....
From Size 77 down to 61 in 20 Turns through starving...
If i had known that earlier, i had brought the counter up beffore my city was so big.

Another "Problem" with Stephanos.
He can fly and have very much movement and flew extremely and it was very difficult to catch him, because erebus is extreme with mountains and that guy fly above them and my army have to move around, what take a long time...
I have to reload several times, that he takes another course...

Then i found, that only three of six religions have special technologys, the other three have no special technology, why, that looks unfair for me?

I love this mod anyway ;)

.... You had a size 77 city? I can only imagine that via Hyborem, but you said you starved. (Maybe a farm loving elf with city of a thousand slums?)

Edit: Quick test, and yes, you CAN get a city size 80 or great. Sanitation + Ancient Forest + Agrarianism = 6 food per tile. City of a thousand slums allows you to bring in (Wait for it )

... 265 raw food. (I didn't max everything out, but I'm pretty sure you'll lose about 20 of that for health reasons even in the best of time).

Still, You could be looking at a size 90ish city pretty easily, possibly up to 100. Using the 'guilds' civic you can have infinite non bard specialists (Throw in liberty for bards).

Kinda crazy, but somewhat amusing.

Stephanos flies. Yes it is annoying, but he's a Horsemen of the Apocalypse, I think he has the right to be so.

Oh and the event at 30 AC is called "Blight"

Since Charm Person was moved from Mind 1 to Mind 2, the Sheam Succubus unit has been broken. I don't think Succubi are supposed to be going around 'Inspiring' Sheam citizens. Not right for the unit, or the game.

I fixed this myself by changing the following:

Assets
XML
Units
CIV4UnitInfos.xml

Under:
<UnitInfo>
<Class>UNITCLASS_SUCCUBUS</Class>

I used the world editor and edited the terrain and ressourcess 3 frields around my main city so that there are all types of ressources (except the "hell" ressources) available and the left i filled with wheat ;)

But i created the map too big, very often the game crashes and the savegame gots every turn larger, now more than 1 MB.
Giant map and 18 Civilizations in Turn 640+ is too much even with absolute lowest graphic details in all ways. :(

So i have to start a new game only, because its too laggy.
After ending a turn it requires not some seconds (like at beginning), now it taktes up to 5 minutes for a turn or a load...

Is there a chance to increase the performance?

There is actually a pretty easy way to increase performance...

Don't play ridiculously large maps.

It works like a charm.

I've found if you want lots of room w/o a huge map and since FfH/FF isn't much of a naval game, play your game with the Tectonics map with the land area set to 30%. A standard map is then a LOT of area and even a small map can accommodate around 6-8 players easily.

Yes, but i want to have all "races" on the map, so there must be 18 or so together and thats hard.

I started a new, "small" map with 6 players and test around a bit.

By the way, i found an incredible Error!

On that map, Acheron playe on a city next to my main city and there was a small ocean between.
No Problem so far, but when my "culture" expands, the city was destroyes and archeron AND HIS TREASURE disapperars!

I am getting the no research bug, it is affecting both FfH and FF. I tried starting an FF game with no boxes checked but that hasn't fixed the problem on either FfH or FF.

Anyone have any ideas?

If it's a settings bug, just start a game via 'play now' will reset all your settings to default. Then play custom as normal afterwards and you'll be okay.

I don't remember if that's what causes the research bug though.

Caged units, when culture pushes over them are moved out of the dungeon, but are still held, not a bug per se, rather what simply happenhs and cant be helped i guess. Still odd tho.

"Since Charm Person was moved from Mind 1 to Mind 2, the Sheam Succubus unit has been broken. I don't think Succubi are supposed to be going around 'Inspiring' Sheam citizens. Not right for the unit, or the game." no, they go around inspiring male Sheaim citizens :)

Hehe. Funny. :)

Well, yeah! Those Succubi inspire me all the time too. So perky!
Sometimes after seeing that, I gotta take a break from Civ for a few minutes!
;)

I'm having a problem with FFH v0.34 crashing around turn 160. I wanted to post the savegame file so the error can be found. I found that if we wish to do this, we should have python popups enabled.

So where is the CivilezationIV.ini file so I can change it? And what do you use to open the file to change it?
Thanks

5. If you are noticing an issue please make sure you have python popups enabled so we can see what the real error is. To enable python popups in your CivilizationIV.ini change:

Code:
; Set to 1 for no python exception popups
HidePythonExceptions = 1

To:

Code:
; Set to 1 for no python exception popups
HidePythonExceptions = 0
