First thing you'll do

MAGBaxter and others who do earth maps (legendary earth, atlas, yahem etc):

When GAK is released I'd like to have an earth map with vanilla and GAK Civs, but no DLC civs,
and also an earth map with ALL the civs (vanilla, GAK, dlc). :)

Oh and true locations for nat wonders too!

1. I'll put somewhere on my desk a bottle of home made alcochol called Moonshine.
2. Fill up glass
3. Launch the game
4. Read about new features in civilopedia
5. Maybe start they game if I don't past out :)

I will make awkward combinations of CIVs and religions, something like arabia with christianity or England with Islam :D

1. Fill the fridge with high quality beer (some to freezer to get extra cold)
2. Call ma mate
3. Fire up a game with my mate, going in as Sweden
4. Fill my beer glass with the freezer cold high quality beer
5. Enjoy

Er, install it I guess, and browse the forums while waiting and read all the comments from the North Americans who got to get their copy a few days earlier (grr, unfair  ).

Seeing as that additional patch somehow made Steam think that the whole game needed to be redownloaded for me, I'll purchase the vanilla game hardcopy (because of seriously harsh data limits in this country) along with the expansion. Then I'll start a game, but never finish it. I have yet to finish a game of CiV, with the exception of one time as Napoleon, which, as a proud Britisher, I am terribly ashamed of. Hopefully the expansion will change that.

Wow, good to hear im not the only one who never end its games :). Yes I hope the expansion will change this, I just don't enjoy the late game that much so I always end up starting a new game : )

I actually have no idea what I will do, all I know is I'm going to go for a 10-12 (or more) player game with Spain, any civs that has their original ability change and ALL of 9 brand new civs.. I dont' know who I will play against though :O.

Wait for the first patch?

If it anything like the original launch I shan't be able to start a game on the first day.

Cautiously pessimistic. I like it.

For me, I shall wait and listen. The level of noise and its tone from the forums shall decide whether or not I will buy this title.

first i will just watch the game about an hour and be soooooooo happy, and then start standard map as Celts, and other new civs :D

I forgot to mention:
I'll spend the first three days being generally angry that Europe gets most games three days later than the USA.
On the flip-side, if it's an unbalanced bug infested mess I'll read about it here before I even get a chance to spend my money.

I'm gonna Roll a Big Fat Kahuna, start up the game as Austria, light said Kahuna, then press next turn.

Yeah.

You don't need a mod, you can just rename it.

1. Read the Civilopedia
2. Study the tech tree
3. Examine each of the new leaders in detail
4. Read CFC on how the difficulty levels are playing out
5. Pick one of the new civs to play a long game with lots of variety in warfare (to see the new units - mine and the AI - in action)
6. Wait patiently for MadDjinn's LP ;)

haha I had the exact same plan howver I am just gonne play on or king and see what happens

1.Shout at myself for buying the expansion
2.Play as Empress Wu Zetian the Great and choose the new civs as rivals
3.Listen to the diplomusic
4.Defeat and conquer all the new leaders

If the extra era is a future era the first thing I would do is not buy it. I dearly hope thats not the case.

Actually, I have changed my mind it may be an interesting idea for a DLC or second expansion.
