Confederation of Havana
Government: Democracy
Havana, upon its founding, adopted the principles of direct democracy. The people vote on all measures proposed by the small federal government body. The feelings of democracy stretch so far that it is used both in the workplace and in the organization of the labour unions that make up the confederation.
Economic Policy: Socialism
The economy of the Confederation is managed by collectivized labour unions that are themselves organized democratically. The labour unions work in cooperation with each other through labour exchanges, where they could transfer commodities and discuss mutual aid. The unions are themselves autonomous; the government takes no part in any form of central planning.
Social Policy: Nationalism, Militarism, Liberalism, Egalitarianism
The people of Havana see a great future for the Cuban nation, and will arm themselves to reach that end. This is no secret. However, at the same time the people have a strong sense of freedom and self-determination of the individual.
Foreign Policy: Multinationalism, Expansionism
The people of Havana wish to expand the Confederation to all of Cuba and beyond. Once territorial goals are met, many believe in the notion of cooperating with foriegn governments to further prosper.
Domestic Policy: Tribalism

History:
The War and strife of the Collapse hadn't initially affected Cuba all that much; its isolation proved to be an advatage early on the the string of crisis. However, that wouldn't be for long. The war for resources spilled into Cuba eventually, and with it despair sweeped the nation. Rabid climate change ravaged the geography and environment of Cuba. Today, you can have yourself walking through a dry desert and in no longer than thirty minutes of walking find yourself in a forest.

Cuba eventually degenerated into a plethora of tribes across the land with little or no connections with each other besides the occasional trade deal. The tribes would mostly keep to themselves, even as the rogue climate of the earth threw hurricane and dust storm at the tribal communities. However, not a century ago, a tightly-knit group of tribes circling the ruins of the late heart if Cuba decided it was time for a new era of reconstruction. Fed up with simply existing, the tribes decided they wanted to rise to prominence. Using the ruined city as their new main encampment, the tribes got to work on founding a new society that would attempt to make the tribes and eventually all of Cuba prosperous.

The Tribes developed the Confederation quickly. The population is at present small enough to solve problems using direct democracy, and with the knowledge of the theories of socialism still intact (and widely in use in tribal society) they developed a societal structure to call their own. The Confederation does have a federal body, a parliament, that can propose measures to the Confederation. The people then vote on whether it passes or fails. The actual confederation is made up of labour unions that work together to manage the Confederation's economy. Using this model to build from the ground-up will encourage surrounding tribes to follow suit and build a strong and unified Cuba.

7 EP on Land. Hire more muscles out of the Stuttgart slums. Reactivate old war machines such as jeeps using any reserve of bio fuels we have.
4 EP on Stuttgart. Ensure electrical output by building more wind power plants. Irrigate the farms of the surrounding land better.
4 EP on retaking Memmingen, a town south of Stuttgart along the river, for the purpose of converting it into agricultural/biofuel producing zone.
1 EP on taking Frankfurt to the north of us.
1 EP to taking Munich.
3 EP on setting up outposts in the Ruhr industrial region, to see if the old industrial plants can be reactivated/salvaged for technology and parts.

Thomas slammed the door, and barred it with a thick metal slab. "We should be safe here," he said, his voice trembling. Sighing, he leaned against the wall, before lying gingerly on the couch.

"You sure?" Jimmy asked worriedly. "They seemed pretty determined out there."

"I've food enough for weeks in here, and that door can withstand a hundred pounds of dynamite."

"So what do we do now?" Jimmy was on the verge if tears. His wife had been torn apart by the mobs, and his daughters were missing. Thomas hasn't fared much better, losing his two sons. His wife was at her mother's, near the harbor, so as of now he had no news.

"We wait."

"For what?"

"The army. The navy. Someone." He rose and strode to the television, flicking it to the news channel. They had a reporter in the streets, swarmed by the mass of people filling the roads.

"This Jenna Tanner, near the harbor. The homes of the rich have been raided by looters, many of the wealthy dragged into the streets and killed." Behind her, shouts of Jack and Arbor rang out over the press of peasants, echoing the name of their newly chosen leader. Some, the outlier, shouted democracy, but they were soon drowned out by the majority.

"Christ, Lisa. She could be dead." Thomas sighed, then turned back to the screen. In all honesty, he'd married for money, nearly doubling his wealth with the union.

"Reports of military aid with the rebellion have spread, but the truth to them is questiona- I am receiving news that the military have in fact joined, making the conclusion of this fight a foregone conclusion. The plutocrats will fall." Nearby, a boom rang out as a fire ball engulfed the streets and screams echoed.

"Goddamnit, I could hear that. They're coming nearer." Jimmy's confidence was dropping by the moment.

With that, they heard a buzzing coming from outside the vault like door. "Is that a buzz saw?"

"Holy , that is. That'll take hours to get through, though."

Hours later, they broke through. Both of them were torn apart.

TL;DR:

Rebellion, Jack Arbor installs himself as the monarch.

New focus on trade.

Spoiler note from the Third Architect, Chief of the Eye, to CEO of Meier Brewary :
Dear Mrs. Meier.

I hope that you will forgive me of the atypical nature of this correspondence. Please be rest assured that you are not being investigated by my agency nor are you being punished for your faults. However, I believe that the matter at hand is of too great import to be communicated by any other means.

For a great amount of time, we have had a cordial business arrangement, during which time your own organization expanded in both prestige and wealth considerably. In exchange for allowing us to eavesdrop on coversation among your customers as well as a cut of your profit, in addition to the tax that we charge everyone, becoming donated to the coffers of the city, we would not investigate your more questionable business practices and even provide you with better ingredients to stay on top. As a result, no longer do you serve beer at a streetside corner in the 9th district, but rather run an establishment that makes half of all the alcohol available in Stuttgart, if not Germany. This arrangement has proven highly beneficial to both the city of Stuttgart and you have seen your fortunes, both financial and otherwise, wax significantly.

However, if this arrangement was to be somehow suddenly suspended, I have no doubt that we will be capable of finding another party just as interested in our services. You and your employees, on the other hand, would face destitutions due to legal costs, sanctions, and inability to cater to your clients. Nevertheless, I am perfectly content with the state of affairs in Stuttgart today, as, I imagine, are you. It would, after all, take another decade for another organization to grow to your stature and provide as much money to the coffers of Stuttgart.

For some time now, your husband, Mr. Meier, has been endeavoring to uncover some information about the Architect’s Council, the Eye, and the Peaceguard and our business arrangements with various parties within Stuttgart. We had hoped to discourage him from this dangerous line of inquiry but alas, it seems that it was all for naught. He will not be discouraged from the path that he has taken.

His actions are in direct violation of our agreement and I would be free of fault if I were to terminate our partnership. However, I respect your abilities as a businesswoman and I hoped that we would be able to find a more agreeable outcome.

You must murder your husband.

This is not a request. This is not a joke nor is it a test of your loyalty. This is a statement of fact. You must murder your husband, or else face destitution. Do not warn Meier. Do not incapacitate Mr. Meier. Do not attempt to reason with Mr. Meier.

I am sure that you will be able to organize his disappearance better than my man can. Do not worry about Mr. Meier’s absence. It will not be of ultimate consequence to the city.

P.S. When you have a chance, please contact Mr. Tsao of the 4th district. He makes the most amazing noodle dish, and will fit in nicely with your plans to expand into the China town market.

Country Name: Lone Star State
Colour: Maroon

Government Type: Judicial Dictatorship (secular kritarchy)
Economic Policy: Planned Economy*
Social Policy: Egalitarianism, Militarism
Foreign Policy: Imperialism, Expansionism, Interventionism
Domestic Policy: Totalitarianism**

*effectively a socialist economy, with full nationalization of all industries and abolition of private land and capital, but without formal homage to historical Marxism or Communism - so in this sense statist/corporatist rather than leftist.
**more than mere authoritarianism, the Lone Star State intervenes in the private lives of civilians constantly, using a caste of government informants and modern surveillance technologies to evenly enforce the state's will.

History:
After decades of political decay in the democratic institutions of Texas, other forces of society began organizing and advancing communities as time went on. The churches of Texas took on, at first, the main duties of organizing society, supplanting the Texas bureaucracy, and supported by business. Meanwhile, Texan nationalists advocated for escaping the union as a means of reinvigorating the local Texan administration and economy, and they took to creating private militias, terror cells, and anarchist revolutionary parties, to push their cause. In this way, two separate systems came into force, the religiously dominated, community based pro-business organizers, and the well armed, libertarian, anarchist mix of rebels.

As the religious leadership failed to revive the economy, and a monopolizing business class progressively ate at the working man's wages to recover from greater and greater economic recession, a growing resentment among Texans for the church would arise, and eventually explode, when a series of scandalous conspiracies between church and business officials came to public light in this still formally democratic and free society. The revolutionary militias violently disposed the church-led communities, and the only remaining component of the old and dying republic, the judiciary, was appointed by this revolt as the interim leadership for a new country. Business was ransacked, churches were burned, and a new alliance between the militias and the judges evolved into a stable post-conflict government - the militias were organized into the army of Houston, and the interim judge-government became the permanent system of political leadership.

Since then the proclaimed Lone Star State never recreated a republic, and instead maintained law and order by increasing state influence in the affairs of the communities and suburbs the Houston based dictatorship occupied with its progressively more organized and disciplined armed forces. The government viciously enforced its policies of equality between men, women, all races, and its near-state atheist program, to the dissatisfaction of many, and downright terror of many more elsewhere in Texas, who couldn't imagine this rising moralistic-military government would not make good on its claim to be the government of all the Lone Star State.

The Xing Dynasty ("New" Dynasty)
Neo-Imperial China

Capital Wuhan
Color Imperial Yellow/Gold
Government "Constitutional" Monarchy
Economic Military-Industrialism
Social Nationalism, Militarism, "Liberalism"
International Expansionism, Imperialism, (Client Civilizations vs Rival Barbarians Diplomacy)
Domestic Authoritarianism

History is to come. Explanation of "Liberalism" and "Constitutional" aspects of the Xing Dynasty is to come.

General: The Collapse proved to be a second Cultural Revolution in China. Self doubt entered all layers of society as the Communist society destroyed itself with infighting and civil war. In the end, the cities were abandoned as a new Dark Age entered China.

The Xing Dynasty, unlike other regions of China, still retained knowledge and information of the whole, if garbled and tattered. Hoarding modern weapondery and equipment, the Xing horde migrated from their mountain strong hold and took out the various peasants, dictators, kings and communes of the Sichuan valley. After a major peasant rebellion and invasion of a "Mongoloid" motorcycle gang, the somewhat diminished Xing retreated to Wuhan to rearm and prepare for a war to unify all China and to claim the Mandate of Heaven.

The Xing idea of "China" Claims China, India, New Guinea, Japan, and ALL the land contained within. As for as they know, anyway.

EDIT: Just to say, the Xing won't be a copy of anything once was in China. They will take traditional Chinese Imperial ideas, but also use Communist and Nationalist ideas, mostly riding on the common folklore generated after the collapse to gain recognition and such.

When the Messiah spoke, his voice carried far, and through a combination of genuine religious belief, cult persuasion and manipulation, and secretive control of more and more of the decision making apparatuses of the region, it eventually came to dominate the political, military, and increasingly, cultural and religion landscape. In a matter of less than a generation, the new religious teachings had spread throughout the majority of south east Asia and threatened to spill over into India and China also. In that age, none could be sure of who was a member of the faith and who was not, for it was, in many ways, like the ancient faiths of old which hid their practices and teachings lest they be prosecuted. But their numbers grew and so did their influence and power until they the membership was akin to a network of informants and spies, and the eye of the Prophet was everywhere.

Right! Pacong, the Malay peninsula is such a natural boundary between us. Until you are spilling off your islands (Sumatra included, I'm not, like, mean), please keep away from it or the islands and land west of it.

We are open to you occupying Rangoon, but would greatly appreciate that you concentrated on those other dozen cities first. Greatly.

For the record, we are not laying claim to the peninsula - we are suggesting that it and perhaps inland Siam would serve as a useful buffer zone to decrease tensions. This buffer zone could, of course, be moved, but as the revised zone would probably include Rangoon, then no Rangoon.
