This is the 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons Campaign currently being run on the #nes IRC channel by myself. Intended to be a summer length campaign (longer?) that gives the D&D fans on the channel something to have fun playing in. It is based in a setting of my own design with aid from others on details such as the pantheon, etc. Others are welcome to join after discussing it with myself, either as a one time appearance as an extra companion or potentially as a full player. As time goes by this thread will be filled with session recaps, backgrounds of characters, maps and anything else related to keeping you informed on the great adventuring party to ever walk the world.

As for the title you may purchase all of Guillaume's published adventuring autobiographies from your nearest book merchant.

Background: Qukk Mandelelago was born into a brood of kobolds worshiping the green dragon Ozjadi “The Great Deceiver” in the Jungles of Jade. His birth was not unusual and his early life was spent much like all kobold cultists, bringing sacrificial offerings to their draconic hero. Their master, Ozjadi, was an evil being beyond the typical evil of dragons. His treatment of the kobolds and other beasts in the jungles was seen as torture by outsiders. He fed off of the fear and pain of his subjects. Little is known about the origins of Ozjadi or how he arrived in the Jungles of Jade, but what is known is that his long life of pillaging had brought great attention to his hoard. Rumored to be one of the greatest ever taken by a dragon. Sometime around the year 321 of his age the great wizard Umbermoor arrived in the Jungles of Jade in search of a mysterious artifact that Ozjadi was rumored to have in his possession. Months of hiking and combat with beasts loyal to the dragon had finally paid off and Umbermoor entered the overgrown plateau that the dragon called home. Coming across the kobold cultists, Umbermoor quickly overpowered them but did not end their lives. He offered them an ultimatum; renounce their master and serve him or forever be destroyed. Qukk Mandelelago and his brothers present at that moment bowed before their new master and went on to aid him in slaying the Great Deceiver.

It is unknown if the artifact he sought was in the hoard, but he left with new servants in the form of several dozen kobolds. Fast forward a few decades and the great mage had brought his followers around the world on many adventures. During the “Defiance” period of Umbermoor's life, in which he challenged the gods for both ultimate power and immortality, the kobolds stood strong besides their master. According to legend the deal struck between Umbermoor in his final breaths and the gods spared his servants from his fate and placed them in the service of protecting his artifacts by order of the goddess Artana. Ironically the immortality Umbermoor sought was gifted to his servants, not because of their good deeds, but in order to prevent his powerful artifacts from ever being discovered again.

Over a thousand years have passed and the year is now 1342 of this age. On the night of the Summer Solstice a group of worthy adventurers stumbled into the dungeon protecting one of the many items of Umbermoor. In an act of mercy Qukk was spared by the party which forced his own change of allegiance. Aiding the group in getting to the room of the sword of Umbermoor and assisting in the diplomatic exchange that saved another conflict Qukk was granted freedom from his duties to the gods. His duties now lay in helping his new masters do the will of the gods in this new age of trouble.

Elaia Temer does not fit the usual mold for a priest, nor for an adventurer. For one thing, she is... a she. For another, she is an elf, and for a third, she is cute as a button. She has blonde hair down to her shoulders, blue eyes, and a face to melt any reasonable heart. Born to a decent, middling income family, to parents who had a happy and wholesome marriage, she grew up with an older sister, a younger brother, and very few wants. She very rarely went hungry (except when she misbehaved), and she did not lack for toys growing up. She lived in a rather large town, and life was therefore rather exciting.

As she passed into adolescence, things progressed pretty normally for her. She found a group of friends, got a basic education at her local temple, and began to see a young lad by the name of Marianic perhaps a little more than was proper.

However, she never really had direction in her early life. Then, everything changed.

At some point, the priesthood had caught her eye. She investigated past the normal stuff they taught the other kids – quite deeply into the origins of the world. She discovered the power of KEEPER – the most important god of all, and yet, bizarrely, one of the most unappreciated. Finding HIS word compelling, and discovering for the first time a true sense of what was right, what was wrong, and what her life ought to be about... and given the other perks of KEEPER's particular order, she was only happy to become a cleric for the god. She studied at the temple for a few years, learning the core texts of the faith of KEEPER like the back of her hand, and of the creation of the world, and of any number of other things – for HE is a god of knowing.

Granted, she was never particularly clever, so she did not do much more than learn by rote. But such things didn't bother her. She knew what was important, and what was right, and what was wrong.

Her times in the temple brought her quite a lot of joy. The order of KEEPER never frowned on increasing its ranks any way that it could, so she was able to see Marianic on quite a frequent basis. She helped to create holy symbols (indeed, crafting her own, a bracelet of a serpent eating its own tail), helped repair holes in the temple, taught the holy word to small children, and best of all, tended to the plants and animals that the temple kept. The birds there know her on sight.

After a time, as is traditional, the high priest suggested she should complete her religious training by going out into the wider world There, he explained, she should learn both the ways of the common people, and indeed learn more about herself. These seemed like reasonably valuable pursuits to her, and so she trekked out into the wilderness – where she encountered a countryside ravaged by a ferocious dragon, and by a horde of goblins. Escaping from the one and killing the other, she met two men called Guillaume and Godric (and some mute boy) – and now, perhaps, her life is about to change.

BORING? PERHAPS.

That kobold is over 1000 years old and he's only made it to level 2? What a slackass.

I guess if he sat around watching Dancing With The Kobolds for 1000 years and never bothered even killing any rats or anything, but man, that's just lazy! ;)

I'm Marak, an Elven Seeker from the Boreal forests of Montreal, my favorite things are playing Time Crisis and frostlocking people from an absurd distance

He was confined in a dungeon with nothing to do. Hardly level up material.

His GM should have at least given him some bonus RP experience for enduring that! :P

Others are welcome to join after discussing it with myself, either as a one time appearance as an extra companion or potentially as a full player.

I might need to get in on this at some point this summer.
