What's reasonable about it?Thank you for reasonable viewpoint. Don't take Zhirinovsky seriously - he is a populist clown and serves merely as Putin's pocket opposition. He has pretty much zero chances to come to power. And yes, what Russia doesn't need for sure, is a war against neutral country such as Sweden.
Let's see.. I'll take a stab in the dark a guess Ironsided is a stockholmer usually residing in stormfront forums. He's a nationalist-socialist rusophile who not only would take notice of a figure like Zhirinovsky coming to power, but also applaud it. I apologize if I got anything wrong.
Finland is cooler, yes, but they still have a military worth mentioning, and no, 90% aren't scared shitless.I’m Swedish. I am not in the least afraid of a Russian aggression. But my most idiotic compatriots are – we may be the most Russo-phobic nation after Estonia. The Finns are cooler than us for sure. I’d say 90% of the Swedish pop is scared borderline shitless of Russia.
Who's said anything about an invasion? I'm sure they'd be happy with just weaker neighbours. It’s a tragic. Especially in the light that Russia has no interest at all in Sweden. What is the motive? It’s the first question in a criminal trial for a reason. What would Russia gain from occupying Sweden and Finland? Pine, Spruce and Iron? Russia has that a hundred times over already. And a border with NATO Norway – they would hate that. There is NO incentive at all. There is however a lot of newspapers hot for headlines, clicks and add-revenue. Bastards – capitalist bastards.
So, what's the complaint here? If the Russians are intruding, it should be noticed and perhaps Sweden could get their crap together. You agree we should respond to an intrusion, I take it. Not sure what you're arguing really.I’d be an idiot not to think Russian subs/aircrafts where not trying out our capabilities. We are the perfect training target. We are modern and we can’t really do much to retaliate. I say bring it. It’s training for us as well.
You prefer an annexation by a Zhirinovsky-led Russia before joining NATO? Yea, that's reasonable...Russia would have to vote in someone real special like Zhirinovskij to make me sit up and take notice. Even then I would probably well prefer to be quickly annexed by Russia than be the playground of choice for NATO troops to hold their ground. We all know how that ends up for the civilians by now.
