Looking for da man
Everyone, the United States just elevated the terror alert level
to High.

Please be careful and safe.

Thats not good. I live near the Sub Base in Groton (where the first Nuclear sub was constructed).

Again, that is really not good.

AoA what’s going on over there?

Edit:
Risk to 'soft' targets cited
For only the second time ever, the U.S. has raised the national terror threat level from "elevated" to "high." Attorney General John Ashcroft specified threats to hotels, apartment buildings and other "soft" targets and said "al Qaeda is still determined to attack Americans."

Same in Germany btw, altough we don't participate in military activities. The chief of the german police just announced a "significant increased probability of terrorist acts".

I think it's the worst moment I can think of for terrorist acts btw (if there is such a thing as the worst moment for such acts), anything is already heated up to the limit.

Thanks for the warning AoA. :)

I hope none of their attempts are successful. Better yet, I hope they don't attempt and gain some common sense.

From what I heard, the "chatter" is a major attack, and they think with Bio weapons.

Maybe some of you will get your wish, and they will get me this time!

I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, even if I had one.

Stay frosty, you guys over there!

Oh no the Soviets will attack with Yuri!!!
neh seriues this doesnt sounds good.
American guys ,stay save.I hope nothing happens...

Was this really necessary as a sticky AoA?

With the threat of bio-chemical attack, well, yes.

I does warrant a mild amount of caution, don't you agree?

What, twice?

Don't you know there's war on!?!

I'll unstick it probaly tomorrow Greame, and yes, it was.

Stay safe AoA, everyone, I want each and every one of you to keep posting for a long time.

If anything should happen, whether it be New York, LA, San Diego, Chicago, Berlin, Rome, London anywhere, the posters who live in the area which (may) be attacked MUST make sure we know they are safe.

I don't get it. What does "severe" alert actually mean?

What's do they call the alert if the USA is at risk of being bombed (proper). Sorry for being ighorant :)

A geez, I live within walking distance of the "Saddam Hussein Mosque" :(

Your optimism about them remaning safe is touching. personally i think they MUST try to get out of the area, stay and assist in recovery operations, or whatever. I do not think posting on an internet chatroom should be top of their priorities

Obviously I was not implying they should remain at their desks should anything happen. Nor should it be their TOP priority to post here and say they are alright. When all has been worked out in their personal lives, I was merely requesting a sign of life.

Fine then, but its nice to know if they are safe, wouldnt you agree?

Uh, oh, and here I sit in the capital without TV and with my radio not working. Maybe I should by a newspaper tomorrow. :crazyeye: It was my impression that security forces here tend to arrest people with terrorist connections all the time, which did not really made me feel that safe before either. But of course one can always hope that arresting many of them means not very many remain, instead of the usual showing the tip of an ice berg.

Btw, does anyone of you army-wets have any advice on how to act in case you happen to end up in a chem attack in the subway? Except holding your breath and trying not to be overrun by other people?
