Freddie Mac CFO Commits Suicide

Meh, kinda sad.

Edit: condolences to family and friends.

When I saw this before, my first thought was "HA! Good! He probably deserved it."

Then I thought about it for a minute. No matter what he might've been guilty of, it's not right to celebrate any suicide. Whether he was racked with guilt or trying to escape from dishonor, or just sick, the guy was a person. With a family. Nobody deserves it.

Maybe he doesn't deserve scorn or contempt, but neither does he deserve pity. Suicide is the easy way out.

so you'd refuse to acknowledge the inherent sadness of human death just because the individual in question committed a cowardly act in a very difficult situation?

Sorry dude, I guess I'm just a callus person. I really couldn't give a damn about the guy or his death, unless it was just made to look like a suicide.......... then I'd be interested.

Easy way out for a Corporate Fraud Officer?
Easy way out for anybody. We all have crap we have to deal with........ some of it worse than others. Regardless, ending it all is the easy/coward's way out.

His family deserves pity. (At least.)

I don't think it's safe to assume it was cowardly... unless you're of the belief that all suicide is cowardly in which case it's not that simple.

D_M: I don't give a damn about the guy either, you don't have to give a damn about something to acknowledge that it sucks.

Suicide is not always cowardly but it's (nearly) always egoistic and stupid. Egoistic because it causes serious grief and problems to other people. Stupid because depressions can be cured. Anyone who considers suicide should also consider that he might be seriously ill.

The well known Freddie Mac board member during the hieght of the scandels rocking the mortgage entity and directly involved in all the tom foolery about sub prme loans that led to the current bubble bust. Better known as the White House Cheif of Staff.

Rahm Emanuel.

I'm amazed you can make an insinuation that someone ought to kill himself and still look at yourself in the mirror in the morning. That's disgusting.

So when is Ron Emanuel going to follow the example?

Awesome, you got his name wrong. As well as height, scandals, prime, and Chief.

You're an amazing person to say he should kill himself. Just beautiful.

Yes, because those who are depressed and commit suicide are cowards. You're an idiot.
I would submit to you that those who commit suicide are the idiots.

He's just so cool and unfeeling like that.
Well you're definitely right about the cool part, you might even go so far as to say I'm the coolest guy on the planet.

However, I am not unfeeling. I just prefer to make emotional investments in the living, or perhaps those who have their life tragically taken from them......................... rather than those who are selfish & cowardly and much like Lucy said leave hurt for those who loved them.

So thanks for posting & I look forward to when you have something to contribute.
