This may be an asinine question, but I want to change my user name? Is that ever possible? On some boards they have name change days, does that happen here? Or would I just have to re-register, and abandon this account or something? I know it would be hassle for a bunch of dorks to be constantly bugging the mods or admins saying "I wanna change my name, waaah." But I don't want to re-register cause that's a stupid thing to do for such a vain reason, and besides, I registered in 2003, so even though I'm an unimportant lurker, I kind of want to keep that status of alleged seniority. I looked in the FAQ's but couldn't find the answer to these questions.

You would need to PM the admin, Thunderfall, for that request. I'm not sure of the criteria required to get a name change, however. It has been done in the past.

well who is TF going to put time and effort in for? somebody who is going to post a couple of times then leave or someone who is a regular poster adding to the site?
I'm sure he makes his decision based on each case. The marginal effort for making such a change is pretty low if he is here on a regular basis. And by his posting he seems to be around...even if he ignores my question about poster HoF.BCLG100 said:
