If you turn on WYSIWYG in your UserCP, you can c/p them locally. However it's buggy and doesn't always work right. The best way to do it is to upload the pictures to some kind of imageshack/photobucket/picasa site and link to them there. I don't know about picasa, but imageshack and photobucket both provide links to including the pictures in a variety of methods, html, forum, email, direct links and whatnot.

That's really about as easy as it gets at this point in time.

Try www.imgur.com. Not sure if there's a difference interface for the iPad, but click the 'Computer' button, and then select the file. Then upload. Then take the 'Direct Link' URL and put it in [img][/img] in a post.

These days on ImageShack you need to have an account for direct link. But its not much a problem to sign up. Just thought I would mention. (I tried imgur myself but didn't like it really.)

Why when a topic is moved to a different board it sometimes stays in the original location with a redirect to the new location, but other times is just moved entirely?

Depends on whether the moderator who moved it sets a redirect, and expiring redirect, or no redirect.

Why wouldn't the mod do a redirect? An expiring redirect seems the best case. It's sort of frustrating (though not extremely so) when a thread is moved and I can't immediately find it.

There have been times where I've accidentally clicked the wrong option and there is no way for a mod to go back and add a redirect when they've clicked "leave no redirect." Also, depending on the forum, redirects usually only last 5-7 days or so (sometimes longer depending on the mod) so if it's an older thread, the redirect may have expired.

But usually, unless we mess up, no redirects are only reserved for problematic and adbot threads and all others should have some type of redirect.

Ah okay. It's not really a big deal, I was mostly just curious if there was some policy on when to do a redirect or not. Thanks for the info!

A more experienced mod would have returned the thread to the original forum, and then made the move again; this time be sure to leave a redirect.

Also the default is for 1 day. I usually leave it for 2.

That pretty much only happens by accident (e.g. if a thread has been moved to the recycling bin and the redirect has been left on the default 'permanent' rather than changed to 'no redirect').

The OT section has a sticky outlining some additional rules that you might find relevant to your question:

10. 1000 post threads:
10.1. Person who posts 1000th post gets to start the new thread (that is, the person who posts the post with the "1000" in the top right, not the 1000th 'reply'). Even if the threads over-runs, it is the 1000th poster who starts the new thread.
10.2. There must be AT LEAST TWO other posts before you can post again.
10.3. No person who started the 'current' version of the thread can start the next one. If they happen to get the 1000th post, then the thread can be started by the 999th person.
10.4. If thread is not started within 24 hours by the 'proper' person, it goes to the 999th poster, then 24 hours later the 998th etc. Anyone else starting it will have their thread deleted, and risk a spam infraction.

I'm not sure if that also pertains to other sections of the forums. I would guess so.

Has this symbol taken the place of the old timey red-x box when it comes to images with bad links? I haven't seen a red-x symbol in a long time. Or maybe it's the browser I'm using (Chrome)?

Which is really bloody annoying since you can't tell its failed to load :/ Is there an add-on that returns the red x?

Sadly I think the opinion is that once a female is moving, she is simply far to salacious and suggestive for the forum to handle..CFC will spontaneously combust and there will be ruined childhoods everywhere.
