Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I really can't understand all that discussion about moderator actions. Why is everybody trying to find out where the borders of proper behaviour are?

But then again, I am not roaming the OT area on a regular basis...

So in case I want to do it I'll know if I'll get infracted or not.

Why not just not do it?

Just sent you one.. get it?

Here's a question: If you disable PMs how do you know you have an infract?

They go through anyway, I believe.

Is it possible for one's post count to lock up? I'm trying to reach 100,000 posts (;)) but seem to be stuck at 362.

Can a moderator be forced to retire? Has it ever happened? Can a mod get banned for abusing the moderator privileges? Has it ever happened?

For either, can a moderator be retired/banned for making an infraction themselves? Does it have to be repeated or major? (e.g. if they accidentally slip up and swear but don't do it again are they retired?) Can a moderator infract themselves?

Why do you ask questions that you've already asked and had answered?

I don't remember asking any of those before. But I've got the memory of a goldfish.

Trying to live up to the name of the thread, I'd imagine.

And yes, mods have been unwillingly retired. Of course it's a possibility. And I doubt it would happen over something trivial.
