Full Monty

Scouting with a sentry chariot is better than a normal chariot so I'd build a sentry chariot in Uruk after settling the GG there.

I think we want to settle the cows to the south of Uruk since the maintenance on it will be cheap.

Ah, in my busyness I missed this game. This start is interesting to say the least.

Good luck -- lurking!

Agree with the plan.

Sorry for not contributing more, it was kinda busy the last few days, as my grandfather just died.

Hi Rusten :wavey: I think we could still use another player here as we're just on a 5-man roster or you can surely join in the next game (and as I know us, there will be one ;)) if you don't have the time right now.

If you go for that barb city than we defintely need get hands on ziggurats.

Aesthetics should be enough for peace although giving it away slightly reduces it's brokering value. We could wait until we see any elephants anyway i guess.

Some part of me wants to chuckle, honestly
So, you archery and improved pigs does not help anymore and you suddenly want to get stupid chip tech faster.

You're in if you want Rusten :)

updated roster:
--------
shyuhe
mystyfly
bbp
kossin - UP
soirana (on deck)
Rusten

I don't think we'll be able to trade for alphabet before having to buy peace. It might be worth a try I guess, since it's unlikely that green/indigo will be trading any time soon.

Thanks for the offer but I don't think I have time (yet). At least it could be difficult to fit in turnsets.

I just noticed a point regarding new cities so I figured I'd post my thoughts before playing along.

First
Fish E of Uruk, on desert tile - since we can't explore through Green, the wb can be used to stop its upkeep. Can borrow Cows right away as workers are busy north.

Second
1E of cows S of Uruk - grabs the most grassland and 2 grassland hills. Also no ocean tiles.

Third
NE of cows N of Eridu - has 1 grass hill. This site will need chain irrigation to become useful as we will settle it rather late

Possible fourth
2S1E of clams near barb city - uses up some more grassland and another grass hill, blocks access to Monty and can share Rice.

What do you think?

two hills actually. I would settle a bit more northwards as this gets near same about nonshared grassland and one forest to speed up something.

2 turns in my set...

Of course, he is Pleased with green now.

Meaning we're most likely his target. He's researching HBR now and finished Construction 2 turns ago so we can expect WEs.
I have moved the chariot back to check his closest city. While there aren't 2 zillion troops yet, some troops are clearly headed that way (see orientation of chariot for example).

~~~
Finish off Alphabet (trade in 1 turn or 2) then Masonry, stack some more Archers and Spears in that city and hope for the best. We can use the settler I've started and plant him in the middle of the desert for peace later on.
Chance he's dogpiling on White?
Are we better off declaring ourselves to open up dialogue sooner?
"A first impression is a lasting one"? What's that?
I don't think the -3 diplo hit will be worth opening the dialogue sooner.
Do we have any hope of reaching pleased with him in the next 2-3 turns so that we can beg a tech to buy more time? I'm kind of hoping for a dog pile on white. Is there any close border tension with white? Sorry for all the questions, as I can't see the save right now. I do remember indigo having the most power of any AI, so we are all valid war targets. Is there any way to see if green/indigo have a peace treaty or a cease fire?
Don't expect that to work, shyuhe, we don't know currency yet so all we could beg for would be a tech... I think we should just start turtling up, just in case, as kos suggested.
Dunno whether we can see if they have a peace treaty as their war excuse is WHEOOH...
bbp, I think this is just some random modifyer between AIs.
Don't think DOWing ourselves is that good...
Dogpiling white: maybe, but they seem to have no touching borders.
"A first impression is a lasting one"?: It's the peaceweight (doesn't show the random hidden values though). It was added in BULL sometime ago.
No minuses for close borders.
We're currently at 0 with Indigo. We can convert religion (+1), gift Aesthetics or gift a city in ~5 turns if we whip a settler now and then try begging. I'd rather keep Aesthetics for Alphabet though.
Can't see anything regarding peace between green and indigo so I'd assume there aren't any.
Sounds like it's a total crapshoot as to who indigo will declare on :lol: Maybe I need to go back and look at that war declaration thread to see if land target (green) takes priority over relations (us/white)...
I for one would prefer to put a few CG2 archers near our border cities (gems in particular) in case indigo comes for us.
Not looking at the save yet...
We should get barracks everywhere, if we don't have them already, followed by some archers. And tech Masonry. Hope for the best... Not sure what else.
Definitely need Alpha with Aest. Gift settler should be saved for a peace offering, I think. We could also tech Literature for peace later?
