Another glitchy GFX sort of picture...

This one features Rome's workers, spreading their brawny limbs and brandishing their special axepickaxeshovelrakehoehammers... the absolute best tool for cottage spam.

They must be trying to impress the statue, or they're about to cut their own hearts out in honor of the two great big blue mystic circles painted on the ground.

They're just a couple of farm hands who were going out to work on their fields (and maybe 'conduct business' with livestock) when they saw...... the circles.

First off, that weird thing with the weirdness happened again in my current game:

Spoiler :
Monarch, StartingPoints mod, with strategyonly's earth map. I'm Cyrus for this one.

And second, Izzy places a city that is on a food resource. What a bad idea.

Spoiler :
Monarch, StartingPoints mod, with a map I got from CFC. I was Catherine for this one, but I abandoned this one later.

Why is that bad? If you settle on a food resource, you get +1 food in your city tile, so it will grow faster than usual in the beginning. And as far as I can see, if she gets her culture up in that city, she'll have wine (+3 food with winery) and sheep (+5 food with pasture) plus a bunch of coastal tiles. With Moai that city would be pretty darn powerful.

Seriously, some religious people can get offended at ANYTHING these days...

(I picked the other option, giving me +2  in all cities for 30 turns.)

"Sir, the 21st rule of Confucianism is that building big things is heresy!"

Not real funny, but I thought I'd share:

(Turn off lights)
(Noise of people shuffling about)
(Lights come back on)

"Do you ever just hate barbarians? Want to do something mean to them. Wedgies? Now I present to you a cruel barbarian act. There were wandering in the desert for hundreds of years and still are. I think they're from the middle east and the "gods" (Sid) told them they had to wait before entering human lands, but it was too late. The following happened."

I love doing that but I have to hit mute when I do it. That "enemy near your cities" sound drives me crazy.

I know I had to mute it, but still that red thing saying they were near your city is annoying.

I'm pretty sure it's just a click. Or trumpets.

It's a marching sound similar to (possibly the same as) when you build a barracks. It's no big deal if your turns are taking a little while. But if you're at a point where you're just hitting enter over and over while stuff builds it's maddening.

There is another barb warrior to my NW that has only 5 tiles, but I didn't take a pic.

This situation combined with my love for The Great Wall is precisely what prompted me to add the "Ignore Harmless Barbarians" feature to BULL. :D It will stop warning you about barbarians that cannot enter your territory due to TGW.

Mr. Ambassador! You are really spoiling us with your Ferrero Rocher "Ignore Harmless Barbarians" feature.

Ignore harmless barbs? I love you. If I were of a mind to produce spawn I think I'd ask you to genetically contribute. Strange though; I just realized that I haven't built the GW yet since I got BULL working for me. I'm usually so obsessed with it that I figured I should try to start playing without it (like breaking myself of the Great Library habit in Civ 2 & 3).

@millahnna - What is this "not build the Great Library" of which you speak? I don't comprehend. Is this some new strange technology you've discovered? Perhaps I can find it in the Great Library!
