egypt really do need food but the commerce is a good idea... I am actually playing the picts and england is actually a nce start. High production and food (from their power) and an easy target in britain (just raze their cities, they will cause huge problems with the brython power ...)

You should wait untill I get the 3.1.1 patch out (pretty soon as long as I don't fix 2 python bugs until 3.1.2)

This is the first time I've ever had another civ still have the green face towards me even AFTER declaring war.

That's not too surprising in a Continents game, where I'd imagine war preperation takes an especially long time. AIs rarely stop preparing for wars once they start them, and it's never as a result of improved relations.
