Funny Screenshots: Part Deux

In HR times selling happy resources instead of fish will help the AI much less, as it will be able to afford huge stacks in its cities, at least on the higher levels. But it's generally a good idea to sell off excess resources for gold, as your own limiting factor is always research, whatever you do. This is one of the ways the AI can help you along passively with teching.

Huh, I had never thought about the ubiquity of HR, and the ease with which the computer could build and maintain enough troops to get all the happiness they need. I suppose at that point, you are absolutely right, health would be more useful. And there I was thinking I was so smart.

Where do you get that extra info from in your screenshot?

This may be the most often asked question in this thread. Well, either that or the more general "What mod is that?"

The answer is the BUG mod (see the green bug head button below the gold per turn and above the research setting - that is the button that brings up the BUG options screen if you are using BUG). You can use it by itself, or you can install some additional parts like the BULL mod (which adds a DLL that provides more information, supplementary to BUG). Or BAT, which is BUG+BULL+a few other things and more civ-specific graphics. Or BUFFY, which is used for the Hall of Fame games, and such. The changes for these come from the BUG team. They have a sub forum off of the Civ4 -Creation and Customization -> Civ 4Project & Mod Development forum here.

It required the BtS expansion. (The B in BUG stands for BtS.)

It is also incorporated into many other mods, so the screenshot could also be from one of them.

(So maybe this will cover this question for the next few days...)

Historical Facts :

The "Eiffel Tower" was in fact built as a simple shed for a lumbermill.

Your computer, sir, is a beast.

not as beasty as mine  dual monitors an all :p

Just looking at the minimap, he appears to be running a mapsize bigger than Huge, although i can't tell what mod he's playing. And running Giant or Gigantic takes no less than a supercomputer.

Thanks, got it. :goodjob:

I think I'd just go crazy from the double input of two monitors at once

no, sir, it is not :D

Dual Core E7300 (2.66 Mhz), 4 GB Ram and Geforce 8800 GTS (512MB) running vista 64bit.

I just got used to having 20-30 sec of AI time in modern era ;)

The mod is my own (see sig) and I did use a lot of time optimizing it, so even on modern era it uses only 1.4 GB of memory on a Gigantic map with 18 civ. (well, not 18 anymore ;))

Not Too bad :p quite useful :D I have civ running on one monitor and read the forums on the other... hmmm gives me an idea... (runs off to 1000 clues you play civ too much)

What are the two improvements other than plantation behind the tower?

The "forum" is a Trade Center which is 3rd part out of 3 of the Tradepost chain.
The "forum with flowers" is a Trade Center placed on Scenic landscape, which gives +1 gold.
The "Shale Plant" is Sparse Industry which is 2nd part out of 5 of the Industry chain.
The "boxes and workshop" is a workshop that has produced a resource, same way the mines can "find" resources in vanilla. In this case its Iron Weapons.

Save please.
