I'm currently looking for a new horse racing game for PC. (My current one is rather old, and doesn't run all that great) I've been searching for one, but so far, I've only found games that are
a bit pricey or appear to be online-only. (I don't like online-only games and my price limit is $20.)
So, does anyone have any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate some.
As an update to this, I found
a game that looked somewhat promising. (Plus, it was FREE!

) I did some research on it, and the basics were that the game was free, and you would earn points from races to purchase better mounts, etc., and if you wanted to, you could pay real money to get the points. That is optional, though, which is fine by me. So I registered to the site, downloaded the game, and was told that I would have to purchase my first horse using points, or real money.
But, the first horse is free. I'm a little bit edgy after seeing that, but it looked on the level. So I went through the list of horses that I could purchase. I made my choice, and went through the motions of purchasing it. (It was free, mind you, so it was only the motions. I wasn't actually going to spend any money.) To complete the purchase, which would total $0, they asked for some information. Name (I really felt like a Mr. Smith at the time.

), birth date (Do 50 year olds play horse racing games?

), etc. I went down the list; there was nothing too personal that I couldn't 'edit', if you know what I mean, until.... "address" and "phone number". At first I considered giving them the phone number and address that I've seen in those ShamWow commercials, but I thought better of it. So, in the end, I'm just going to be keeping an eye on
the pricey game.
There may be some people who may feel the need to tell me that I should give them my address and phone number because I shouldn't 'live in fear of the big bad wolf finding me', blah blah etc., but I'll tell you now that I make it a rule to live by that I don't let information like that out to
anyone who doesn't have a good, well-known reputation. Uh-uh, not gonna happen. You'd have to pry that information out of my cold, fried hard drive before I'd tell just anybody.
But, as very brief summary, this is what I think of the people who made the "free" game:
