Game Tracking Thread

Me personally I am seeing very little reason for continuing this game with all the accusations of cheating going on. That is my view on the matter. I am not sure what is Dave's view on the matter.
I think i agree.
And i limited myself on what i can see now, not on all what happened after 1500 AD.
Just to give you a measure, when we (Sirius) were asked in September 2010 by the now dead Mavericks to accept their cities, we politely refused, thinking it was not fair. We did not even bothered to ask to the Admins. This is documented in our thread.

This game was ruined by all those diplo agreements and this is also a Sirius fault.
Speaking for myself i was adverse to many parts and conditions of those agreements, but i was in minority.
Now that i'm the 50% of Sirius is too late.

Game over for me.

The transferred cities between Amazon and Cdz were part of a deal to take out Merlot and were done quite some time ago.

Claims of CDZ being a vassal of Amazon are ridiculous.

For most of the CDZ team, this game was dead with allowing tech trades and having a 4-way tech alliance. But still, we wanted to finish this in a normal way.

Not speaking for the whole team, I wouldn't mind calling the game over. Although I don't know what the current cheating accusations are about.

Socralinnek, we agree about the 4-way tech alliance, at least it was too prolonged.
Tech trading was voted. Probably we should have voted at least "No Tech Brokering".

The 2 cities Amazon gave to CDZ could even be a part of an alliance treaty.
What i complain is that, see the point 3.4 of the game rules, any city gift must be approved by the Admins. Thus it should have been published in this thread or in another public one, so that any team was informed and the Admins can have approved.
Not doing so, you openly violated the game rules.

What scares me about this matter is that DaveMcW, once informed by myself about this matter, told me that he approved the cities gift.

Now, how can an Admin approve something in contrast with the game rules several turns after it happened?

You posted CDZ is not a vassal of Amazon. Now, can you please explain me why you gave them units when you have few more units than one per city? How do you think to survive? You can even be their best buddy, but you have seen what happens to Amazon allies.

Another thing which scares me is that an Admin solicited someone to take in charge Quatronia for the time CavScout is away.
Since we are supposed to be all opponents, with all our secrets and strategies, how can we accept that a team takes in charge another one turns?

This, and the conduct of CDZ makes me think that Amazon actually controls 3 teams.
Be aware, it's quite different from being an ally. Give to another team access to your turns means you're something different.

To say it all, there's one things which scares me more than any other:
Sirius had a NAP with Amazon, which included the ETT (later extended to CDZ and Quatronia) and which was indefinite.
We asked them to renegotiate it, since the last tech they gave to the ETT was Gunpowder and we continued to distribute techs almost for free.
Instead of an answer, which we were waiting for over a week, they declared war.
3 hours later they sent us a mail where they informed us that they cancelled the NAP.

It was clear to me that such a pact could have been cancelled with at least 1 turn of warnig. Cancelling the NAP would surely have alerted us. Amazon based all their strategy on that move. I am sure they moved units using the OB agreement (at least a galleon, surely fully loaded), then they declared. I remember clearly to have seen it in our borders and to have been puzzled on its presence in that place.
Obviously at the time i was far away to think Amazon would have ever break our NAP.

With all the above and the Admins or at least one of them demonstrating to not being able to actually manage this kind of disputes, i don't think it's worth to continue this game.

To not throw away over one year of this MTDG, i've put some conditions. We can discuss some minor detail, but basically they can't be changed.

AMAZON has finished our turn and resumed the game. :) Play on.
No. There's a question arised. Until it's solved, in a way or another, Sirius will not even log.
If the Admins decide to reject our requests they will inform us properly, not simply ignoring us. Then we'll act accordingly.

Instead of decide the Admins just disappeared.
They did not even bothered to answer to my requests. On the contrary, they were reacting quickly to Amazon ones.

I think that this say it all.
This is the official Sirius goodbye to this game.
Now i log for the last time and give it to AI

Maybe there is a reason for this.

Because your violations of the rules were obvious, while your complains are like ranting instead of some reasonable requests?

And your accusation of Amazon gifting cities to CDZ were answered - they were legal. About Q being played by a sub outside the team, Alpha Shard already had agreed. CDZ being vassal of Amazon Sokralynnek already denied and laughed at.

What you want more?

If you cant play the game to the end, run, but are you the only one left in the once mighty Team Sirius?

This is your point of view, mine is completely different.

Actually i was the only active player in Team Sirius and Alpha posted something sporadically. Nonetheless, we agreed do abandon this game for the reasons i stated, unless they were accepted.

FYI, i must add that, even if i was in Sirius since the beginning, i did not followed the game regularly, thus i missed many details on the rules, treaties and the game itself.

I did not found a great situation (to my playing standards) even before 1500 AD, but this is another topic.

Have fun!

Well, cheers and goodbye Blubmuz :wavey:. Thanks for your efforts, it was fun battling you. I for one am sad to see you go :(.

I have sent out requests to the community at large for someone to take over Sirius and infuse some new blood. Hopefully someone like the mighty and manly King slaze can take over. Someone who actually has the skill to turn the tide back in Sirius favor.:D

My skills are out of question.
My disgust for things outside the game too.

My apologies. It seems you feel I questioned your playing abilities. I did not mean to question your skills, as you are indeed correct that your skills are beyond question.

There can be no question of your skills because you have fully manifested and demonstrated your skills and the results speak for themselves. That is why, as I said before, I am so sad that Sirius is losing such a skilled player as you;)

All I meant was I hope, a really really good player takes over for Sirius rather than just some inexperienced one. That's all I meant.:)

Surely Slaze is an high level player, as he demonstrated resisting all those turns.
When Merlot died we invited him, but he politely refused saying ha was done with this game. I hope he does not change his mind.
The game was still winnable for Sirius, before the Admins made all that mess and then disappeared instead of find a way.

Many people left Sirius due to the relations with other teams and many for RL reasons or drop of interest.

I was thinking to leave too, then i felt challenged by your declaration.

In any case, my participation on this game was to improve my skills in Multi and it was actually my first non solo game. I think i reached the target.

About the Admins... I'm used to AlanH and other people on the GotM side of this Community, where i'm mostly active. Guaranteed, all another music.

Thanks BLubmuz for keeping the game exciting. :)
Thanks to you to have ruined this game with your decisions, with your non-decisions and non-communication.

I never met you prior to this game, i don't know which criteria were followed by naming you as an Admin, but i expected better.

I'd like that you would explain me one thing, just the straw that broke the camel's back: why in the hell one takes screenies of an empty area as if he knows that some unit can be moved in that area?
Then i wish to inform you about a good piece of SW by Adobe... guess which?

Even though I'm no longer playing (defeated Merlot member) can I just call for a little calm? I am seriously impressed with the admins' dedication putting in more than a year of work for a game they're not even playing.

Wow... i go away for a few weeks and look what happens!

Honestly, I think this game has probably run it's course at this point.

When we were first forming up for this one I was firmly convinced that tech trading on was the way to go. The idea of full diplomacy between teams seemed to require the ability to freely wheel and deal techs.

Man was I wrong! :hammer2:

Everyone used the lessons learned from the previous game and rushed to form a 4 v 2 alliance. The result- a boring predictable game where diplomacy was actually hindered. So now we find ourselves with an essentially broken game that most everyone has left.

Yes there are a few direhard players willing to ride this thing out to the bitter end. But I say we just scrap this one now and use the lessons learned to start again fresh while we still have a core of interested people. It would be a shame for this to be the game that killed the Civ4 MTDGs.

It will be a shame one sore loser rage-quitting the game to put end to this game too :)

BTW, AlphaShard already said he will take turnplaying Sirius after Blubmuz quit and now we are discussin the terms of surrender and we are waiting for the host to get back and reload the game to a point before Sirius being turned in to AI. So the game is live and can continue if we want it.
