Two large mafia teams with a goal to destroy each other, combined with a huge town, makes for a balanced game, as you saw.... almost every round, a scumbag was lynched. Town had investigatory, vigilante, and force-lynch powers, a pro-town network of masons who knew each other were innocent, and a mole inside one of the gangs that exposed them all.

Without recruitment, you would have had this game over about a month ago with most of the starting town still alive. And it wouldn't have been a very fun game at that point.

Well you also have to consider that
A) There were about or so nights where there were no kills
B) The cops had at least one mole and the potential for more
C) Our tail ability only really works if we know who the scum are
D) I should have been dead the night after I replaced madman as everyone knew who I was thanks to nictel

I do remember early on when dcmort took over from Mad man I did wonder why he posted his Role PM in the Police QT after he was specifically told by Duke that there was a mole in the ranks, and that started a whole lot of craziness.

Poetic justice for the Viper Incident, as it shall forever be known. A day which will live in infamy.

I was townie at the time, and I was rather vehement in saying how not cool that was. When I got recruited to a doomed team I was like "oh thanks" at first, but giving the Vipers a reason to hope for a miracle was enormously fun.

Also, I wasn't suspected in a game of recruitment until the final round? Since when does that happen?

It's so odd not to be metagamed that I'm still in shock. Just shock. Over at the .org I'd have been dead weeks ago.

As early as March 9th we were talking about recruitment, and later there was a big discussion involving Sprig which was all about conversion.

We may not have known for sure, but I know recruitment, conversion, and even the coercion of shopkeepers was the topic of discussion almost all game long. It didn't sneak up on us.

Ah, my role was fun. I had to survive until day 11 and then won the game, something aided a lot by the lack of night-kills and early reveals- I was never going to be either suspect or a mafia night kill by that point. I actually started acting mildly scummy at times intentionally just to make it a bit of a challenge.

You are the Viper gang a group that is infamous in their dealings. Anyone who gets in your way will be destroyed. Your leader, Mr Gilmore (Khazaar) has taken over from Mr Greene the former leader before he was shot dead in a gunfight with the police. Now that has happened your task is to rule the city with and iron thumb and those shop keepers who have dared not to pay protection money are living a dangerous life. Right now there is a truce between The Vipers and the Sharks, but eventually that will breakdown, but you want it done on your terms. All members of the gang have a snake for identification purposes.

Here is a list of shop keepers who have already paid up.
1. Mrs Hendricks ( NarutoAvatarDBZ)
2. Mr Gordon (Camikaze)
3. Miss Nelson (robbiecon)

They have paid a lot of money and if they start seeing them killed by the rival gang, then they might jump ship, so be careful and make sure they survive to the end of the game. You also want to have the police force on your pay role so you want to either eliminate cops or get them onto your side.

You have Mr Gilmore(Khazaar) is the boss of this operation. The second in command Miss Tessmacher (Civgeneral). She is a highly skilled martial who is not to be messed with. You also have a hired killer Mr Anderson (Domination3000). He will do all the killing for you. You have a security expert Mr Johnstone (Duke Blackstone). He will look out for things that need to be done, no matter what. Finally you have a crooked cop on the books Officer Rooney (Nictel).

Your teams goals are as follows.
Be the sole surviving Mafia group
Control the police force
make sure the shopkeepers are on your side paying protection money

Mr Gilmore - Khazaar, the Godfather of the Vipers.

You are the leader of the newly formed Viper gang after the dead of long time mentor Mr Greene (classical_hero) You see yourself as the rightful leader and that your rival, Mr Greenwood is basically just some up start who thought he should have been the chosen leader instead of you. You have learnt many things from him and you are very ruthless in your dealings in this city. You own this city, or at least are trying to. On your books You have Officer Lee. She was recruited by your lovely Second in command.

Abilities.
Immunity. You are immune from lynches until you are the only one left on your group, meaning that every time they send you to trial, you will get off on a technicality due to this fact. Killing. You can tell your hit-man if you want him to just wound or kill your subject.
Corruption. You are able to bribe one member of the police force to be on your side. Remember that this offer has to be one they cannot refuse so you need an angle to get them on that otherwise you could be in trouble.

Role change after he recruited ATPG, since he had lost his former empire.

Right now after the savage beating your group had, you have now lost much of the wealth that you had and now the people do not fear you like you once did, so this has to change. You now have to get more shopkeepers into your fold to rebuild the power you once had. You have no one under you besides the cop you corrupted. This needs to change so get him to recruit two more people to be part of the gang. Others can be under the gang, but nor official members. Also you want something that every member has to identify them from everyone else, but not so obvious like last time. Perhaps a ring would do.

Second in Command – Miss Tessmacher (Civgeneral)

With your extreme good looks you are able to get any man to stop in their tracks and then disable them with your skills. You are highly valued in this operation. But you harbour greater dreams. You know that you could run this organisation so much better if you were in charge. You say that it will be a victory for women to be in control of the city rather than the males. In fact you resent all males and as a result want them all dead. But for now you are willing to bid your time. You also need to recruited Officer Lee () into the ranks of the organisation. She is willing to help you out on your task of being head of this organisation.

Stats:

Wealth – Average/Rich (with the backing of her boss in times of trouble and once you take over the empire)
Status – Average
Criminal Record – Yes. You once beat up a guy for looking at you wrongly. You served a few months for it.

Abilities
Protection: During one morning/afternoon/night period you may protect two of the shopkeepers, one for each time period. Any attacks on those will not succeed. The fact that you don't have the resources to protect all is another reason for wanting to be leader.
Power of a woman. You are able to distract one man from doing his job for a whole 24 hour period.
Immunity. Once you become boss of this all female group you will become immune from lynches until everyone is in the new organisation is lynched or killed.

Your goals.
Survive. This is you main priority.
Become leader of this operation. This must come first, but it will be tricky. If you get caught then things are going to trouble for you and Mr Gilmore will have you killed by the hired killer. It is best to have him killed by a car bomb, the method of choice of the rival gang. This will hopefully start a major war between the two gangs. Setting you for your rise to the leadership. This can only happen after day 5, since you need to get the equipment. To start getting the equipment you will need to send me a pm saying that you have ordered it and on the 5th night after the order, you will have the bomb ready for use. Once you have eliminated your boss you can declare gang warfare against your rival and this will result in a lot of bloodshed helping you ultimate goal. Be warned, this is highly dangerous for you to attempt and getting caught will mean death for you.

Set up an all female group, there are plenty of people who are willing to join you on that quest.

Protect: Make sure that you stop attacks on shopkeepers paying protection money. The more you protect the better.

Eliminate all males. When you were a young girl you were raped by an uncle and ever since then you have been bitter, but you do not show it openly. That is why you took martial arts lessons so that you can hold your own against men. Make sure that you have the women on your side.

Mr Anderson - Domination3000

The Hit-man – Mr “The Animal” Anderson (Domination3000)

You are a former army sniper who has had some bitter experiences during war that left disillusioned with life in general and as a result of it you just want get rid of people. You have seen that people are just plain evil and thus they deserve to be eliminated. You found out that your best friend from school has just become a leader of a gang and you saw that as an opportunity for you to make some money from your desire for revenge on society. You are a great marksman so if need be you can kill your target from a distance and make a quick get away. But you are also good at sending messages for your boss which means the target survives or potentially survives.

Status – Moderately Powerful

Abilities.
Kill or wound. You have pleasure of either wounding or killing someone your boss does not like. A wounding is sending a message to them, generally shopkeepers who have not paid money on your side. Kills are also an option and that it what you like doing best. Killings are best done at night, but you can try and kill during any time of the day, but wounding is best done that way, so it looks like someone else had done it rather than you.
Loyalty. You are fiercely loyal to your boss and you suspect that someone in this organisation is trying to kill the boss. Find that person before they can do any damage to your boss.

Goals.
Survive. No.1 priority.
Kill Mr Johnson. He was once the school bully when you grew up, so you want revenge on that SOB.
Kill Mrs Smith. She once rejected you at high school.
Kill the person trying to takeover the group. Be careful since if you get the wrong person, there will be consequences for you to your boss. He does not suspect anything, so you have to do it all on your own.

Mr Johnstone - Duke Blackstone

You are a former spy so you know how the world of espionage works. But you are actually working for the government and you given a role of infiltrating this gang because it has been a most deadly history and is starting to become a major force and you are sent in to stop it. You were chosen since you have an excellent history of bringing down corrupt spies from your own organisation and getting into the inner circle of every major terror organisation that you have been assigned to get into. You are fluent in many different languages which helps give you standing in this organisation, since they are acting very classy. You know how to get information out of anyone with little risk to yourself, but this organisation is by far the best run one you have encountered. You are answering to the Chief of Police (Mad Man), who requested you from the FBI.

Abilities.
Gathering information: You can scan two people during the night to see what they are doing that night. What you do with this information is up to you.
Wounded only. For three attempts on your life they will only be able to wound you rather than kill you and if they are only trying to wound you, then nothing happens to you. Each wounding gets worse. The 4th attempt will kill you.
Justice. Gather enough evidence to put Mr Gilmore to jail. You want to see justice served rather than have him killed.

Goals.
Survive. No.1 priority.
Get Mr Gilmore to Jail before he is killed.
Corruption. Find out who the corrupt cops are and either get them arrested or dead. Either way is fine by you.
Under the radar. You still need to find information useful for Mr Gilmore to keep up the act. Any deaths will be tragic though, so try and make sure to convince your boss that they are in need of a touch up rather than something major.

Officer Rooney - Nictel

Here is your badge.

You are a crooked cop and before the arrest of of Mr Greene, you were very close to him and as a result of it you were scared from his arrest, but you are now settled enough to be working for his former number two and now Boss of the Viper gang. Originally you were an honest cop but due to the nature of the force in times past you saw lots of corruption and tired of trying to fight it, you decided to be part of the action and get some extra money on the side, since you feel like you don't get paid enough by the force. That lead you to your friend from school Mr Greene, who you now knew was the boss of a Crime gang and you needed the extra money. Now that you are part of the gang you have made more money than you ever thought you could. When Mr Greene went down so did you thought you would, but he was true to his word to not bring you down with him as he went down. So he left you to keep the information coming to get the upper hand on the police.

Information. You may twice in the game get information from the Chief of Police for the plans for that day. This will be done in secret. Twice more you may publicly ask info for things he is doing.

Become Rich. You do this via asking for bribes.
Leak. Get information that will help Mr Gilmore out of trouble.

The Shark Gang

After the death of the former boss Mr Greene (classical_hero), a bitter feud was started with Mr Gilmore and Mr Greenwood (sprig). But since the bitter split your group has had some time to take shape but now you have formed a formidable group. Now you guys are faced with the task of trying to build fear into this town and get control. You are not a group of classy people but rather people get things done and do it ruthlessly. You guys do not have the resources of the Vipers, but what you lack you make up with your brutality and fear. For identification purposes ever member has a shark tattooed on them.

You are bitterly disappointed that you were not chosen by Mr Greene (classical_hero) to run his organisation should their be any trouble with him so now you have started a new group with your closest friends. There is one thing that you guys lack and that is a someone in the police force, so you want to recruit someone from the police force to be part of your organisation.

You are a former bomb squad detective but you got fired from the job and spent some time in prison for obstructing justice, but you did not do it and the time spent in prison caused you to become bitter with society and now you want revenge on those who put you into prison. You have worked out that there were two dirty cops and one of their informants was in on getting you in prison, so they are your primary target, but anyone is a basically a good target. Also while you were in prison your wife left you. You want to kill that witch for leaving you when you needed her the most.

Status – Weak
Criminal Record – Yes. As above and sent for prison for four years
Marital Status – Divorced. Your wife left you while you were in prison.

Abilities.
The Bomb. You may use a car bomb to kill people.

Goals.
Kill the two corrupt officers and the informant that put you in jail. You know they cops are Detective Ramone and Officer Richmond and their informant Miss Youmans. They all need to be killed together for this to work out or they will know you did it and cause massive trouble.
Kill your ex. For this you want the pleasure of strangling her rather than an impersonal bomb, plus it gives you a great alibi, since there is a Serial killer around and it will make it look like he did it.

Chastity - Snaproll

The Boss' Girlfriend – Chastity (Snaproll)

You are the boss' girlfriend as that it means you have great power, but for a cover he thought it would be best for you to be shown as sleazy and something guys would like so you are a stripper. It is actually something you have become quite fond of since it gives you a nice source of income and it gets you access to men whom you would not normally see. You have know Mr Greenwood since high school and it was then you feel in love with him and since they you two have been like glue. So you will do anything to help him become the ruler of this town.

Sexuality. Due to your work you are hired by many people to perform for them, so using your charms you are able find out what that person is doing for the night. So you pick on person each night to strip for them and during the strip they will be enchanted by you, should they be male.

Get a cop to tell you what they are planning to do against your boyfriend and/or the gang.
Get the Serial Killer to jail. Surely he will try to use your services and he might try and hit on you, so you have to wary of him.

Mr McKay

You were hired by Mr Greenwood to protect his investments, the shop owners that have paid their protection money. You physical prowess makes you an ideal choice for this role. You also have the means of doing this job since before you took up this job for Mr Greenwood you worked with many famous people but their over all jerkiness made you distrusting of such people so you came back home to work with a close friend of yours Mr Greenwood.

You are mainly around for protecting the other people in the Sharks gang. But you have heard about the other Mafia group called the vipers and you have hear rumours about the fact a female in the other organisation is trying to start up an all female

Criminal Record – Yes. You were convicted for shoplifting while you had little to eat. You spent one month in prison for this minor crime.

Abilities.
You can protect one member of your gang for one 24 hour period, should you choose to. You die should they be targeted.

Goals.
Join the Mafia group set up by the female from the Viper gang. So that means you need to find out who she is first.
Protect a few attacks, since you still need to make a living.
Get your boss into jail (lynched).

With him out of the picture things did get rosy for awhile, but unfortunately he did have a back up plan and now you guys have to work harder than before to clean up the streets and make New Townsville a city worth living in again. You have the newly elected Mayor (Skwink Caesar), the Chief of Police (Mad Man) and you have the Police Captain (taillesskangaru) working with each other. You are the first elected female Mayor of the city of New Townsville and as a result of this you have run up some enemies since generally only men have been in charge of this town, so you have ruffled a few feathers. Most of the people love your new style of leading this city and so you have a great support amongst the general population, but the people are terrified about the state of the city and it is your chance to show that the previous males were inept. The people have put their trust in you, so are you going to let them down. Since you are in charge of this city you are in regular contact with Chief of Police and the Captain so that you can keep tabs on what is going on.

Status – Powerful
Criminal Record – No, since you could not be mayor if you had one.

Abilities.
Immunity. While more than 2/3 the town is alive you cannot be killed or lynched.
Martial law. If things start to get bad you can call martial law and for a period of 3 days it will mean that anyone who is found to be doing any night actions will be shot on sight no questions asked by the police.

Here is your badge

You are the chief of police and as a result you are here to remove all scum, whether they be the Mafia gangs trying, people putting the law into their own hands or other crimes that are sure to exist. It s crazy being the chief of police but you have had a long career as a dedicated law official and now times are getting even worse after what you thought was a major victory in getting Mr Greene (classical_hero) killed in a gunfight with your men. There was a bit of lull in violence but now things are heating up. You do know of a new organisation that rose out of the ashes of Mr Greene's old organisation, the Untouchables. You do know that they call themselves the Vipers and this new group is starting to get up and running again. You know from Mr Johnstone (Duke Blackstone) that the leader of that group is Mr Gilmore (Khazaar). That is all you know so far, but right now you do not have enough evidence to get him to prison, but hopefully soon it will happen. You have heard rumours of a new gang that split from the ashes of the Untouchables, but you don’t have too much information on that group. So you want someone to join that group and get some info.

Here is your badge

You are the captain of the police force and you have only just risen to this position due to the fact that due to your detective work you were able to catch New Townsville's most wanted criminal so now you are just settling into this job. You have been in the force for 20 years and your hard work an dedication, but it also has gotten you a few enemies, so watch out for them. As Captain it is you duty to be strong for the people and capture the bad guys.

Status – powerful
Criminal Record – No

Abilities.
Super Lynch – For one night only you can force a lynch on some one, but you have to show the evidence to back up your case, otherwise it won't work, also it is not fail safe, so use it wisely. This will override the town’s lynch.
Task force. You can set them up to help solve unsolved crimes, meaning that you can select two of your officers to be on that task force, meaning they have to devote their energies on that during the day periods. The task force will be devoted to following an individual for that day phases. They will be able to see who they contact during that time.
Unkillable. You cannot be kill during this game, only lynched.


Goals.
Survive.
Get one of the task forces to make an arrest of a Mafia member or the serial killer.

The Cops

Thankfully one has already joined up, that being Snerk (Miss Jones) and she will be your secretary helping you in making you look good. She will be there for aesthetic reasons and to give your organisation role a good cover. Now all you need is someone for your personal protection and to do any of your dirty work. The person needs to be a guy, so for your benefit there are only two possible options for this role left in the town, being either Zack or BSmith1068, choose one of them to help you do your dirty work.

My main frustrations with the game was the first i did not get enough sign up, since it meant that I had to reduce the size of the vigilante group, which meant that any inactivity would really hurt them, plus I forgot to include a roleblocker with them, which is why I added it to Kenngit's role, which was originally just going to be a normal townie. The whole point of the vigilantes were to try and route out any unconfirmed mafia and suspicious cops.

I will say that the serial killer role was a challenge since it was not possible for him to post in the thread with any words, but then the possibility for fun in the thread could have been high with him only to communicate via pictures in the thread. He only ever killed one person and that was APTG, which was very disappointing.

I will explain the stats since they did play a role in the game. The point of the wealth and status was for them to be an indicator of those who gotten then via ill gotten gains, since those with lots of wealth and power are generally going to be mafia, which i why I did plant a few false readings in the shopkeepers so it would not be totally confirmation of guilt or innocence in the game. The Criminal record statistic was always going to be a false indicator, since those in the most powerful positions would rarely have them, since they had avoided the law already.

Any and all plans I had were thrown out once Domination revealed all the Vipers. Previously I had decided to refrain from voting until I knew more about the gang I might suddenly be a part of. Once Civgeneral was lynched, I decided that I still had a high chance of making it far if I continued to not vote. Otherwise, I thought I would appear to have been converted. To the end of being as unnoticeable as possible while trying to seem scummy enough to warrant a scan, I remained quiet after the Mayor was re-elected. To be honest I was skeptical of giving pizza mayorship (Mainly after he implied certain townie roles were ruined when the Vipers were exposed) [And depending on when he was converted, this may have been a false alarm], but it'd be very easy to mount a case against me if anyone found the need to at that point. I didn't feel confident that my cover story (that I had an ability to influence voting but didn't know how if functioned) was very convincing, so I remained more or less silent until I was WOGed.
