I figure the MP44 is pretty much the winner of the weapon poll so I've gone ahead and started on animations for it. Here's a preview of things to come.

Run/Default/Fidget A/Default/Fidget B/Default

Note: this pack will contain two alternate fidgets. The first fidget is a Nazi "heil" salute and the second fidget is the unit taking a drink of water from his canteen. I know some people may not like the Nazi salute and may wish to use the drinking fidget instead. The drinking fidget will be the default one which the INI file will use. In order to use the salute fidget the INI file will need to be changed.

Well I could do two victories I suppose, one with the salute and one without. I don't think the fidget will work as a victory simply because it starts out in the default pose and not the attack pose.

That would be an interesting unit, of course it depends if Gary has a dog model. None the less excellent suggestion.

re fidget vs. victory - you could certainly reuse most of your animation & re-render with the transition from attack.

I can give it a try when I do rifles again. I'll have to see if I can find a posable dog for Poser.

EDIT: @ Blue Monkey: I have a victory with the salute now. That is exactly what I did. I incorporated some of the poses from the default into the victory.

Actually, victory animations should start from the default pose, not the attack pose.

Are you sure? Looking at one of the Firaxis units, the victory starts from the attack pose and ends in the default at frame 14 and then goes back to the attack in frame 15. I've always ended with the default.

I have one last MP44 unit coming. This last one will be a Kriegsmarine Naval Infantry unit, part real, mostly fiction perhaps. I'm posting a pic for evaluation purposes before I do the actual unit. The unit will serve as a late war marine for the Germans. Let me know what you think of the uniform, uniform colors, etc. I'm using a cool new Kriegsmarine hat Ranman38 made for me over at the Renderosity forums for free. The hat will serve to better differentiate him from the regular German infantry units with helmet, I think. This unit is brought to you mainly thanks to Ranman38's generosity.

Kriegsmarine, God I killed so many of those poor guys in Medal of Honour (1st, on the Playstation)..
IIRC, the uniforms were blue?

I can do bluer. That is certainly an option. I wish I had a sailor suit to use for him. I've seen a couple for sale on the 3d forums but I'm debating the merits of spending the money or not. If I can get by without buying another prop I will be happier.

I think whereas the land forces could be simply referred to wearing grey green I think a grey blue would work. I really like the concept and think it would fill in for other civilizations as well.
