I am intrigued by how the AI will interact with the ramifactions of climate change. A player could theoretically play to mitigate all climate effects within her/his own borders, but I could see the AI churn out coal plants and oil platforms ad nauseum simply to remain hyper-productive, which means even the greenest of players will suffer the consequences of AI actions. Very interesting...
Because when you issue an important monetary reform and then make an indebted crusade conquer your rival city, travel with them and successfully siege down Constantinople (twice), gain great riches and 3/8 of Byzantine lands and this all in your 90s and blind, I'd say it's like there was a giant glowing bubble with "HUUUGE PERSONALITY" written on it hovering above your head

I don't know if there are any actual portrayals of the Doge, though Firaxis could do some research. Or they could use Enrico's portrait that appears on his Wikipedia page. It would maybe be sort of unrealistic, but I guess it can't get much worse than Frederick in plate armour

Some thoughts about new Civs for the new features.
Black Death Scenario - Are we going to finally see the Ottomans? Maybe they can have a role in the War Machine WWI scenario.
Canals - thinking about civilisations who's existance was based on canals, brings up Sumeria. I assumed that they won't modify their abilities accordingly, so - what other canal based civilisation are there? Or just some very famous canal projects which can be reflected in adding their constructer Civ?
Volcanic Civ? I don't know about such, but possibly some civilisations that grew in active volcanic areas, and they can be added to benefit from europtions.
I have to say, I was very worried when Sid showed up - I'd expected them to start with the trailer or something, and then I was like, oh god are they announcing something where they're worried people won't like it, so they'll start with Sid? And it turned out all fears were unfounded.
