GeneralMatt's Creation Thread

Indeed! I might still do the Majestic, but I know there is other things more important at the moment. But it just was a very funny thing, made me chuckle..

... like the Hungarian who believes Hungary is a historical ocean naval power, and build the Tegetthoff class dreadnought".

Auch, that hurt! :) Are you making fun of me pet project ?! :p

(Well, I at least don't confuse Poland with Austria, aye, Wolfie?;) )

Oh, was that you Avian? Matt mentioned a Hungarian who was talking about the mighty Hungarian navy... I never put two and two together, but I did remind Matt where Hungary got their navy from... and I'm all for a Tegetthoff class Dreadnought... I'll even help Matt get all the info for it!

Poland/Austria... same thing when it comes to markings on aircraft! :crazyeye:

As for one, I was certainly never bragging about the mighty Hungarian navy:lol: I was just asking for the Tegethoff class Szent Istvan, the only battleship Hungary ever had (they got it as a compensation for the approval of the high costs of the Tegethoff ships by the Hungarian Parliament):p It also saw combat: when it was sunk by an Italian torpedo boat... it's kinda famous, thou, The Szent István is one of only three battleships whose sinking was filmed, together with HMS Barham and USS Arizona. ;)

It pisses me off more when they confuse Germany with Austria. :mischief:
I'm still having a hard time determing the differance between WWI German biplanes and WWI Austrian biplanes... I swear I can't tell the freakin' differance on the markings!

Oh... and yes... the sinking of the Szent Istvan is pretty famous... just goes to show that great Hungarian Navy in action!

The main difference is the way they came from the factory - If the Fokker, Albatros, or whatever (they both used the same models, except some under different names) is in a solid green scheme, chances are it's Austrian. Other than that small distinction, the markings from both coutries are nearly indistinguishable. At least, I've yet to come across any real difference...

So this set of blueprints is the correct version of the Gangut?

Oh yes, I have come to a conclusion. I am going to attempt to fill in the WWII Naval gaps for the Major Countries. This means a BB, CA/L, DD, (possibly FF), Submarine and CV for each major country that does not already have one. Hypothetical ones also if that country never actually had one of that sort.
Wolfshanze, I would like your help in getting the best classes if you would not mind, you seem to be the authority on that.

Avain, I will do your Dreadnought first, and whoever requested the Titanic. Every other request I am not sure about, we will see when I get to them.

Matt, sounds an ambitious project that will make lots of folks on this forum really happy!

I'm sure Wolfshanze can fill in the blanks with lots of good suggestions!

Many thanks for all your contributions!!

Are you going to start with the RN?

I am planning on doing the most needed I guess, BB's, Subs, and stuff. Mixed nations and all. And probably other requests in between and all that.

Did you get a chance to figure it all out?

This one is coming along nicely. :)

And yet another image..

Matt... I'll fill-in the holes (and correct where necessary) on your list of ship classes for WWII major nations... not a problem at all... just not tonight... I pulled yet-another 14-hour day at work... I'm exhausted... brain shutting-down...

On the Russian battleship... it's absolutely hideous... just like the real thing. Just remember, the Russians never met a warship they didn't like to rename to something else (usually more then once, depending on political favor at the time).

P.S.
Your WWII list (even when I fill in the blanks) won't get you off the hook for your Pre-Dreadnought project!
