My progress was hampered by the terrain. We have roads leading south now and our new reinforcements are reaching the front.

I was heading for Cherbourg then Paris. Was planning to bypass Poitiers but it may have to be reduced to protect Nuremburg.

There's a setter in the galley. I was sending it to Big Horse Island to build a city.

The leader is in Danzig waiting to build that palace in Paris!

Good show, donsig! Sounds like you destroyed the bulk of the French army. Good city placement too.

We must hurry up and take the whole continent now, before others come and "vulture" our liebensraum. We dont want France to get gunpowder and start making their blasted musketmen either. That would be very bad. They would have a golden age, and prolong the war.

The quicker we get to Education too, the better. I would even consider going for Theology before Chivalry and Engineering. Start the AoW and shoot for Astronomy. Knights probably wont be needed to destroy France.

It sounds like donsig did just fine with swordsmen.

I am in complete agreement with Lkendter, that we need some wonders. Germany should have AoW, Sistine and Copernicus. I like Leonardos, but we could live without it. The future will be a heavy naval game. And alot of improving of our cities. Lets plan for it. Ohwell will like the naval part.

The Middle-Age wonders are the best ones, IMHO, lets see if we can build ALL of them. Culture victory as the Germans???
Building all those Great Wonders would do alot for relations with other nations too. Screw 'em.

Knight-Dragon is up next, unless Cunobelin Of Hippo wants to go now. KD doesnt play until after work, which is after midnight US time.

I tried to balance our war effort with city improvements (mostly libraries and harbors). Did start a couple marketplaces in the hope that it will soon be time to try out our new found republican form of government...

We have 20 turns to go before the Great Lighthouse is built (unless someone builds it quicker!)

Our domestic situation sucks! Its kind of depressing. Our city placements are terrible.
Palehorse is fired as "city planner".

OK, I am devoting effort to try and make things work, but its pretty far gone. Massive production of swordsmen ordered, to end this war quickly.

My only hope is to get the AoW and pull us out of this mess with a golden age. After I get us a Monarchy going...

Hey! They were good placements b/c of the problem of corruption, plus if the city size is kept down to 6 there are no problems. When we start getting more thana 6 population then those cities can be disbanded.

Yes, Im disbanding the one on the hill surrounded by tundra right now. It should have been a coastal city.

The two cities that flank Berlin are eating into its territory, so I "relocated" some citizen efforts to fishing. :fish:

I fixed the -9 gold/turn deficit this way, combined with lowering the lux rate to 10%.

We should move the capitol to Breslau ( Bristol ). Im saving Barbarossa for the Forbidden Palace, but if I get another GL, thats what Im going to do with him.
