German SG III: "King of Prussia"

Donsig - I know it may sound crazy, but yes, I gave it to them.

My reason was paranoia. If Greece or China attacked while America is already at war with us, other civs were sure to follow, possibly making this the shortest SG in CFC history.

Look at it this way: If Alex had built Thermopylae right next to Berlin, we would have already gone to war. Thats a given.
Instead, we paid a tribute for our arrogance and now we have an ally.

If we are hard pressed, we can now reasonably expect France and Greece to help us. We have many frontiers, as KD pointed out. Diplomacy is our greatest weapon for the time being.

If China attacks, get France to attack Abe and Greece to attack Mao.
And quickly, before they turn our freinds against us instead.

Our strategy now is simple: Build up and improve our circle of cities.

Some day down the road we will settle all accounts when we have panzers.

As for an American SG, I played an SP as Abe recently, and had a good time with it. After Babylon is finished, I am up for an American SG on one condition:
We change some of the city names. Alot of them are just plain silly. :D

Gonzo - After donsig and KD take their turns, I'll push you back into the rotation.

Oh, the shame of it all. Germans giving cities away to Greeks. What has become of us.

Some day down the road we will settle all accounts when we have panzers.

Ok, let's just say we LOANED Alex one of our cities. :D

I'm on the game.

Re: American SG. The first city I build in that game will be Rochester. And it's gotta have a library and a university...

Alex may turn out to be a very good ally in this game. We'll see.

Re: American SG. The first city I build in that game will be Rochester. And it's gotta have a library and a university...

Thats exactly what I would like to see. :D
Go for it!:goodjob:

I'm having trouble - I can only play a couple turns and it locks up on me. Don't know if it's my old computer or what. The last posted save was odd. After unzipping it I had to rename it to add the .sav file extension. That alllowed me to load the sav and play a couple turns:

Edit: Bad save!

Donsig, please remove the save attachment from your post.

It is unstable, and shouldnt be downloaded.

I'll try the previous one I posted, and see if its the problem.

My save was the problem, and apparently this game has become unstable somehow. :(

Didnt this just happen with the last German SG? Are we cursed?!?

We can write this one off, these things happen sometimes. Sorry guys!

Alright, we still have China and Babylon, and the new American SG.

OK. I'm computerless for a couple days anyway. My little brother is up from North Carolina. He's staying at my sister's and I took my computer and Civ III over there. He's playing his first Civ III game now. I owed it to him since he introduced me to the original Civ many years ago.

Luckliy I just played my turns in all the SGs yesterday (or was it this morning?).

So...we're not playing? It's interesting how this also happened in RBD-12... Too Bad...

We have two SGs going right now, China (nearing the end) and America (new).

I dont plan on starting another until the Chinese SG is done.
Its uncanny but my turns always come up all at once!

I will try to run another German SG soon, and I will let you know when it starts xrang. Promise!

Joespaniel, the 'I've got to play 5 games in 1 night' syndrome has hit me once or thrice too...

Let's play Japan after China is done.

BTW: I've deleted my old attachments in this thread to save server space.

Hey joe. Make sure you include me in the new SG after China's done. Im a little slow at getting to the new ones when they start.

Game over due to corrupt save, closed at request of Joespaniel.
