GG 1: Religious Fanatics

Anyway the whole combat system is randomly based. If I had been in the same position I would have lost the army too. Doesn't mean that you aren't good at warring.

Here we go...

Preturn: King Ex prays to our God for luck in the impending assault on Salamanca.

Battle: We lose three 1 hp Sams to a longbowman threatening our GL.

2 - Army of three Sams created. Battle for Salamanca: 2 Sams lost, no Iroquois losses. Our army is moved into place. A Sam lost battling that longbowman.

3 - Undefended settler lost to magic longbowman - actually, I didn't know unclaimed roads still gave units their movement benefit. Shoot. Army wins vs musketman - first victory.

4 - Iroquois land 2 Mounted Warriors on our lands... I smell trouble. I see an Iroquois galley floating around - settler-in-a-boat???

5 - Several Samurais rushed to defend against Iroquois MWs. Army down to 1 hp, no Iroquois losses. Mmmm... Iroquois won't accept Peace with Chemistry, so looks like they'll die.

6 - Rheims taken by MWs. Taken back by Sams.

7 - Lost a Sam vs Iroquois spearman in Salamanca.

8 - Iroquois Pike killed, capture a settler. Kill a longbowman. Peace with Hiawatha made for Chemistry, 43 bucks, and a World Map. Why? Allows us to get our Sams to the battlesite in time, and to make more. I do NOT plan of re-declaring war this turn. Physics started.

9 - Sams fortified on Iroquois border.

10 - Nothing. 9 Sams on Iroquois border. 5 or 6 on the way. War should be re-declared in the next couple turns.

Alright, good luck people.

i wish i had joined earlier. do you mind if i start a similar game at apolyton. (i.e alot of the same rules and such?)

I don't mind. Just remember it was my idea. Well not entirely mine. I kind of adopted it from older SGs.

Anyway you can use it.

The Cult of the Seal regains spiritual leadership of Japan, during the first decade, The tension along the Japanese and Iroquios boarders mounts and in 1280 AD, war is redeclared (really, I was forced into it :D )

1280AD War with Iroquois, settler captured and sent to slave pits in Japan
1285 AD Seige of Salamanaca Begins
1290 AD Capture another settler and seige of Salamanaca continues
1295 AD Embassy is established with Egypt, territory maps exchanged. Egyptians are aware of people called Indians, Persians and Americans. Too much is demanded so comunications are not established. Salamanaca falls to the spititual enlightenment of the Japanese Empire :scan: The Great Wall is captured. (Japanese losses during the siege, 2 sams.)
1300 AD Physics learned, Resistance in Salamanaca is crushed, population is being starved (hungry people less likely to revolt;)
1305 AD Forces moved towards Cattaraugus
1310 AD Siege of Cattaraugus begins and ends with the loss of 1 sam :(
1315 AD Contact with people from the nation of India. Communications with America is purchased for dye. World Maps traded. Resistance at Cattaraugus is crushed (same pattern as Salamanca :spank: )
1320 AD Siege of Grand River beings and ends, ZERO Japanese caulties  Embassies opened with India and America (India will complete Copernicus' Observatory in 15 turns, not sure about us.) Forces redeploy to last remaing Iroquios city.
The high priest of the cult of the seal is assassinated by Iroquois nationalists
_____

Iroquois should be crushed by next turn, a caraval is enroute to the land of Perisa (2 turns away I think) so no need to give up much for communications. Someone may want to sell Iroquois communications to other civs before we crush them, just for the cash :) I did have to raise entertainment since some cities looked like they were about to go into disorder.

If I messed up with the file again, let me know.

We should try to sell communication of Iroqious to other civs rather than the other way around where we'll have to make peace.

I know that your rep. takes a hit if you make peace and declare war shortly after, but not sure if you are just fighting another civ and the others just know about it. (You haven't done any betrayels).

Oh so you haven't left us for NWN? :D

Its come out. I plan to get it sometime, but I heard its really buggy. :(

:)

man, that felt good. I just mutiliated the Iroquois in my own game with a horde of Riders. Oh, sweet revenge!

Turn 10 -- 1370 AD
London begins Colosseum

Ok, not much happened. America should be next for conversion...let's start building boats.

Samurai are in Chartres and St. Regis waiting to convert the heathen. We should probably take America before they get Military Tradition (shouldn't be too hard they're behind at this point).

Infrastructure is looking good at this point. Soon we'll just be building Soldiers :hammer:

Here's the save:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads/GG1-1370_AD.zip

Nope...so we're stuck at 50% or lower.

Normally I'd say drop to 0% and just trade for the rest...but we're so ahead of everybody...

I think Samurai are almost obsolete. They can barely keep up with musketmen. Time to move to cavalry.

Transporting units is a problem. Galleons carry 6. Not bad, but not too great especially when our enemies get riflemen because then we will need alot of cavalry to throw at those pesky rifles.

BTW I got it.
